  1. I'll probably keep my current IS200 for another 3-4 years or so - by which time, there should be some second-hand examples of the soon-to-be-released new IS200 floating around...
  2. If Mat's having 2, I'll err... just have one thanks... :D
  3. What is this world coming to? Sometimes I just despair. I came back to my car the other week to find a dent in the nearside front wing. It looks like some **** has just stamped on it. :tsktsk:
  4. The exhaust looks great. Perhaps it's time I got my first mod. I've got the TTE rear skirt - will this cause any fitting problems?
  5. Last weekend someone (a pedestrian, not someone in a vehicle) was nice enough to put a dent in my nearside front wing whilst it was parked. Sometimes I despair at such acts of random vandalism. How would they feel if someone put a dent in their car? Anyway - my insurance company has asked me to get a quote from a Lexus dealership. These are my options: 1. Lexus Hatfield - who do not have their own bodyshop but use another company for their bodywork stuff. 2. Lexus Edgware Road - who do have their own bodyshop. 3. The insurance company's approved garage. Obviously, option 3 is my least popular choice, however, regarding options 1 & 2, does anyone have any recommendations? Is it better to use a Lexus bodyshop or a bodyshop approved by Lexus? Has anyone had experience (good or bad) of using either Hatfield or Edgware Road for bodywork repairs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Chi
  6. Went to Thailand earlier this year - hired a boat to one of the islands to shoot guns. Shot an M16 assault rifle, Magnum .357, Colt 9mm and a pump action shotgun. The kick back from the hand guns and shotgun were incredible - much more than I had anticipated. It's quite frightening and goes some way to explain how Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta survived THAT shootout in Pulp Fiction. One friend fired six shots at a target no more than 15 yards away and missed completely with all six! Spent cases from the 9mm ejecting onto your head was a bit scary too!
  7. In Thailand, they cost about £20-£25 (with audio aswell). My mate bought one but I didn't bother. I wish I had now!
  8. Sounds good to me. I'm up for it.
  9. Paid... :D . Thanks for arranging this Dobedo. This is my first GB - a relatively cheap one - I guess it's downhill from here [note to myself: must apply for more credit]
  10. I'll second that. In any case, it's oil prices and fuel duty which make the prices high - not Esso and BP. In fact, they make very little profit from selling petrol in the UK.
  11. Sony Ericsson T630 - the new and improved version of the already excellent and very popular T610.
  12. Aido - you're making me jealous. I've seriously thought about it but can't really justify it at the moment because I only do about 5 or 6000 miles a year. Also, at the moment, I have other priorities for my cash. I hope to be able to see and hear yours soon if Donnington gets sorted.
  13. Haha...you want equality? You got it... EU Equal Treatment Directive (another EU brainwave) Point taken on EFTA, but personally, I think the pluses outweight the minuses.
  14. I'm very keen to go because I'm gonna miss out on JAE
  15. When I asked my friend to check on their computer at Lexus Edgware Road, he told me that they were "in stock" at their main parts depot so he could get one within 2-3 days. Presumably, all Lexus dealers use the same main parts depot?
  16. I voted 'no'. But not because we need them more than they need us (in any case, that's a very short term view - just because we have faired better than most economically in recent years, it has not always been that way). TonyGoose - there is always going to be a government, EU or not. I voted no because personally I think the EU in principle is a good thing - freedom to travel, freedom to move, freedom to trade - what's bad about that? In fact, we have the EU to thank for the relative fall in car prices in recent years. In a hundred years time, people will probably look back and wonder how we all existed as individual countries (do you know what it's like travelling on the London Undergound with people smoking cigarettes in the carriages? - well, unbelievably, you used to be able to smoke on the underground). Only time will tell.
  17. Not sure, I'll tell you when I get back from Thailand... :winky:
  18. Any more news on this GB? - I'm looking to get a new gear knob because my existing one was quite badly scratched by the previous owner. Cheers.
  19. Correct. Although TTE parts can be ordered through a Toyota dealer (provided you give them the part number because it's most likely that they've never heard of the part), staff can only get a 10% discount which is the same discount a Goldie member can get anyway.
  20. Unoriginally - Google. Found it when I was looking for reviews before I bought mine.
  21. Unfortunately I was not party to this conversation on Monday (as I was seated nearer to London than you!). Sounds like a good career move...I didn't know you were a budding actor
  22. I know this is an old thread but I thought I'd resurrect it so newer members can add their jobs. I work for a marine insurance company in the City (of London). Can you guess which department? Yep - IT. I'm a senior IT development consultant. So what's the correlation between Lexus owners and IT jobs? (answers on a postcard)
  23. I've given my mate the part number. See what price he can get if for. Hopefully he gets a big staff discount! :winky:
