  1. Hope you get one and I look forward to seeing it out in the Pennines in that case!
  2. I had a 58 plate one as a 'do it all daily' type car and didn't intend to sell it to be honest but a GR Yaris cancellation popped up very suddenly so I went for that. They are fantastic cars and do it all very well, I found it relatively cheap to run overall (servicing, discs/ pads, even overall mpg for a 5.0 V8). I used to take mine out in the north Pennines for a hoon and the suspension coped with the lumpy bumpy b roads very well, much better than any other daily I'd had to that point. Lots complain about the ride quality of the earlier cars but I never felt it was an issue, quite the opposite. The engine is awesome, I loved it and the fact it was auto didn't detract at all. It blended in great too, I got no negative attention in mine, the same can't be said for people I know with m3's/ c63's etc. The car would very rarely slip an inside wheel either and would wag the back end quite easily powering out of junctions or bends. The lsd in the facelift cars is just a torsen anyway, you'd be better fitting a Cusco (or other) proper diff in the long run if you were that way inclined. If you've been into your Honda's and have the taste of the BMW, the ISF is almost like a nice mix of the best between the two.
  3. Funny to see mention of the little Yaris in here. I went from my ISF to the Yaris. I found if it was dry i would take my old bmw out for a hoon and if it was wet id not take either! Now the Yaris can be driven just as quickly in the wet as the dry pretty much and doesnt feel like youre verging on death if it is wet 😂 I thought i'd miss the V8 noise and i definitely do but i dont yearn for it like i thought i would. I think i've ticked the super saloon box with the ISF and have no immediate want for such a car again. Maybe i will in a few years, who knows but for now the little hooligan mobile is doing me just fine 😁
  4. My bolts snapped so needed to be drilled and tapped, that was the only reason.
  5. Oh wow, 2 greats. A friend has a z3m coupe, i did always fancy one. I've got an old 1973 2000tii restomod that i've done, if i didnt do that i think id have got a z3m! My situation in selling has been a bit of a strange one, hopefully i wont be carless for long as i cant be but im waiting on a cancellation spot for something and was told end of this month. Anyway, best of luck and yes hold out for what you want! The lad that came and got mine restored my faith in private car buyers after nearly everyone else ive been dealing with, just needed the right guy to come and see it.
  6. Best of luck with the sale, mine has just gone today. Get yourself ready for all the timewasters in the world and people telling you it's not worth anywhere near what you're asking 🙄
  7. 37511-30020 Thats the part number for the Mk4 Supra coupling. I know some of the specialists have stated theres no bonding, its just bolted as you'd expect. Some of them have also stated that they've had cracks showing for 50k+ miles and they get no worse, not even when supercharged, i assume there are steel wires or such actually providing the strength internally and everything is coated in rubber, which obviously degrades to some degree over time.
  8. Well im 3-4k below dealers offering similar cars (not as good examples in my opinion) and have had a lot of interest but nothing solid yet. I know its only been a couple of weeks but i thought someone would have snapped this up with how good an example it is for the money it is up for. I've had some low ball offers out of the blue and without prior discussion that havent been entertained, i've also had some chats and relatively sensible offers which have amounted to nothing when push came to shove and coming to view the car was mentioned. Not sure how people do this for a living!
  9. They do seem to be going up on the likes of WBAC (for more mainstream vehicles) but trying to sell privately is a pain at the moment (as it always is!). I put my ISF up at very sensible money a couple of weeks back and it's been hard work so far. The golf r estate I sold to get my ISF is worth more now on wbac than it was 10 months ago when I checked for example.
  10. It should have had the big service now whether it was mileage or time based. By the sounds of it its got 70k miles on and still on original plugs/ coolant/ brake fluid perhaps. Looks like it could do with front disks and pads soon too.
  11. Youd be better off saving 3-4k and getting that nice grey one thats up for sale and had the common bits sorted 🙄😂
  12. Anyone that works with CF will be able to sort it, so don't feel rail roaded into replacing it via lexus or wrapping it in fake stuff.
  13. Independent servicing is cheap enough. It's good if you can get one with the radiator/ transcooler done as well as a none leaking water pump. Discs and pads aren't too bad if you don't go to the dealer either. Wear on tyres is good for what it is. Personally don't see the point in the 4+ extra thousand for a facelift, would rather put that towards something else. But I would say that, my 58 plate car went up for sale on here yesterday 😂
  14. Thanks, i've put it in the classified section and will see what happens!
  15. Cracking, im unsure on colours, i like them all but will take whatever pops up first with the circuit pack to be honest, i've been given a contact to call today and sort out so think ill order one regardless! Agree on passenger seat height, i took a few mates out in turn and one did comment on that. The drivers seating position seemed good to me though, many reviews say otherwise, i really dont agree with them on that! The mirror/ dash screen obscured view i didnt find to be a thing either! Love the Dolly! Its like a British 2002 albeit that looks to have more creature comforts than mine! I really like the engines in those things, its British engineering at its best how they've made them 16v, the competition engine builders i help out at does a fair few of them considering how uncommon they are. The place that rebuilt my gearbox and prep 2002's for racing also built and look after an old group 2 one, lovely thing. I do hope i can bump into you in that or the gsf one time when im out driving, would love to see either! Or maybe with your son in the Yaris 😁
  16. Thats good, thanks for the pointers, if i end up with mid 15 - mid 16 ill be happy enough! Like i say, im not greedy about value so wouldnt be interested about putting it up for high value and waiting, just more time to deal with time wasters 😂 Thanks! I thought that would be upper end of what i may get but happy to be a grand or so less. Potentially! I had it for the full weekend and loved it. It would also free up some cash if i take advantage of the 0% deal and with the missus not going back to work after her maternity leave thats quite an important factor at the moment. I love the ISF but i kind of just trundle about in it, if its nice weather ill take my old bmw out and if its wet i dont really want to go for a proper hoon in the ISF as i dont think it will end well 😂 where is your son purchasing from, is it a Stoneacre branch? My mums boyfriend is with Stoneacre and kindly sorted the extended test period, which was much appreciated! And thanks, the specialist i got it from has said they'd definitely be interested in taking it back, will have a chat with them this week for ease!
  17. Morning, I've been looking at potentially moving my ISF on, i get itchy feet after 6 months usually (im now at 10!) and have recently been offered a good deal on another car i'd like to try. Ideally i'd keep both but thats not within my means at the moment, sadly. The car is a grey '58' plate, 89k miles, full service history, mix of Lexus and specialist. It's a very very good example and the reason i went for it. It's standard other than the Hayward and Scott exhaust and a Roose Motorsport intake hose. In the 10 months i've had it, its had the radiator/ transcooler done, front disks and pads and and oil/ oil filter/ air filter service, i've done my usual of spending money with a view to keep long term but then getting itchy feet! Waterpump was done early on in its life and checked whilst the rad was being done, all good. It's on Michelin Pilotsport 4S tyres too, rears are getting down to 3ish mm, being honest! Values seem all over, i think ill contact the specialist i got it off and see what they may offer, but private sale what do you think the bottom line is? I'm not after being greedy, just want to be fair. Thanks, Scott
  18. I've just insured mine for £340 cheaper than my renewal price by using the comparison websites. Ended up paying £410 with Esure, with the exhaust declared. I got a £20 Halfords voucher redeemed from the website too when I took it out, which I've spent on some cleaning bits that I was going to buy anyway. I think that's the first time my insurance has been so cheap on anything for years!
  19. That's a great price at a main dealer, seems they've been robbing others out of £800+ for the same thing!
  20. I changed my rad at 85k when i got my car, for peace of mind. Parts bough from LPD and fitted it with a friend. Quite easy to do, everything is methodical and easy to make out. My waterpump was apparently changed early on in the cars life, under warranty, so we checked that whilst the rad was out and that looked to be the case. The radiator all looked fine as did the transmission cooler/heater connections. We did notice that most of the missing trim clips were inside the airbox from whoever had them all off in the past though, luckily pre filter! Speculation but all these trims would have only been removed for water pump access so make of that what you will. I get the strange sound on full throttle gear changes too, normally if i let off straight after the change, i did some searching and it appears they all seem to do it to some degree and attributed to the aux belt/ tensioner. Again we checked it over whilst doing the rad and it all seemed fine. Many report to have changed them both and it making little to no difference. I wouldnt be worried about your service, there's nothing overly special about servicing these, it's just oil/ filter/coolant/ sparkplugs at the end of the day (just more oil and sparkplugs than most cars!). I use a local Porsche specialist that my mate owns/ runs, they get all sorts in as they are very competent and can turn their hand to anything and its been no different with this car. Parts ordered by me from LPD and work carried out by them, works out cheap and i know that the work has been done well, it's a win win. I'll be getting the spark plug service done later this year. If you have a local independent you trust it may be worth approaching them (perhaps the guy you mention is already doing work on your car this week?), i dont see the merit in spending triple the amount for a Lexus stamp on a car thats already lost nearly all of its depreciation already.
  21. I also have a grey 2008, albeit mine has 15k less miles and 50/50 between Lexus and specialist SH and I've thought about what id want for mine and it would definitely be in that region of £15-16k. I've seen cheaper 08/09 cars but they often dont seem as well pampered, questionable maintenance history, cheap tyres etc. and no mention of the water pump/ radiator/ brakes. I think if care has been taken to pamper the car then its fair to ask a higher price! Good ones that come up for sale dont seem to last long, it's telling for the ones that take awhile to sell, either too expensive or questionable history etc. For what its worth, it might be prudent to fit the disks and pads, its really easy, it took me about 1.5 hours all in and that was swapping cars in/ out of the garage too or a garage would only charge an hour or 2 labour.
  22. Glad you got sorted, sounds like one of those days where you wish in hindsight that you hadnt bothered 😂
  23. I'm sure all that fella is doing is scrapping them though, just need to take them to your local catalytic scrap place and you might get a fortune, they should have numbers stamped on them that they use a data base to check prices, if you can get the numbers off and send them to a cat scrap place then they will give you a value and the data base is updated daily. I scrapped two old cats i'd taken off old diesels a few years ago and got £250, couldnt believe it, was expecting £50 or so. If you were closer i'd buy yours and get them welded as spares (or scrap them in 😂) Sorry to derail the thread!
  24. Yep, hopefully it's something that can just be made moving forward, will keep an eye on it. You should cash in on them, worth a fortune scrap at the moment. There's a buyer on the USA Facebook page paying 1200-2300 dollars a pair. Guess it depends on year and amount of precious metal inside, might recoup your 10 hours labour haha
  25. Has anyone weighed in their standard manifolds recently? Im sure they will be worth around 30-40% of the cost of these ones. Cost is about what i thought it would be to be honest, hopefully they may offer a fitting service too, i understand its not a straight forward job on these cars so some experience would be beneficial and worth the travel! Thinking about it realistically, the reason id go for them is if mine cracked and needed replacing. I had hoped they would have a jig to make these as and when sort of thing, in case that does happen but understand if they only want to do a batch.
