  1. ***** you guys are good! Thanks!! :) That Ebay one looks the biz, will have to get some installation instructions from the seller unless there is some on here, will also get a quote from the Lexus parts link to see which is better :)
  2. Hi, I took my car for a valet and when hovering they knocked the plastic sat nav joystick breaking it off. Any ideas on a replacement as my dealer can't find it on his parts list. Thanks.
  3. i bought one after i couldnt get the grom adaptor to work properly but it did the same as u say so i dont know what the problem is i beleive its to do with the unit not sending the correct message to the HU via the chip in their unit itself thus not allowing in to change over i have not found a solution and if i was u knowing you having trouble with the xcarlink dont buy a grom as it prob wonk work correctly That's for that Reeves, it's been driving me bonkers. What did you do with your xcarlink? In the end, got a Grom and worked straight away like a champ!

  5. Just bought one of these to connect my 2003 IS200SE to my MP3 player, USB port works ok for power only but when I press disc on my CD changer and then the FM button (pressing disc twice does not work), the xcarlink device makes a click. It then shows CD1 on the Lexus radio display and then disappears back to the normal radio display after about 2 seconds. Am I doing something wrong, I have trid reseating the cable without joy?
  6. Hey, that sounds like it exactly, wonder how much Lexus charge 4 this?
  7. Hi, I have done 20k so far and at around 60-80mph, it now has a judder all around the car. If I do 80+ mph or less that 50mph, it is not noticeable, if I take traction control off, it is less noticeable. I have checked the tyre pressures and they are ok. I put it in neutral on the motorway and the judder was not noticeable even when free revving to 6000rpm. I stamped on the brakes to check they were not stuck and there was no difference. Whats going on and why does it only happen in gear at around 60-80mph?
  8. Hi, Can my IS200SE take it and are there any benefits?
  9. Hi guys, If the car (IS200SE) sets off in 3rd gear, is this clutch slip (intermittent on my car - sometimes stalls, sometimes sets off). Occasionally the gear changes feel jerky/car feels underpowered, took to the dealer 3 times for testing and they say it passed every time? Also, is this the correct way to test? Thanks B)
  10. I have an IS200SE, it always used to judder in 1st gear and 2nd gear change was not 100% smooth, also the engine seemed to scream when driving (like Supercars do) around because I had to use lots of revs to get it to feel like it had any torque (felt to me like the car was too heavy and the engine underpowered). Anyway, I asked dealer to take a look under warranty, they looked at clutch performance and said there was no problem at all, but when I drive it now, it's a lot better (gearbox and pedals are stiffer and much, much less judder). So I told the dealer, its much better now, now it just feels like it wants to judder and judders a little but seems to be holding back. Again, the dealer looked at it and claimed there was nothing wrong. But the gear changes are pretty much spot on now, and it feels like it has more torque also and the engine is no longer 'screaming' with revs, seems pretty silent in fact. They are doing somthing with the vehicle but not telling me, I asked the dealer - have they tightened anything etc. and he says its all hydraulic and you cannot adjust it - it either works or it doesn't Instinct tells me the dealer is trying to BS me, any ideas on what could be the cause? And would any after market accessories like a lighter flywheel cure the problem? B)
  11. One month before the warranty period is out, after that I'm in the cold What is the cheapest thing I can buy from anywhere that I can use to coat or protect the alloys to give them a long lifespan? :D
  12. Friend of mine says they are worth a fortune to tyre dealers who retread them?
  13. ← what tyres were fitted??? £100 a corner doesn't seem expensive to be honest with you. mine were £154 a corner so i think you got a decent price. ← WOW! Bridgestones Re040 for reference :)
  14. Just got my tyres replaced by my dealer at £100 a tyre Have I been scammed? And someone said that my old tyres can be sold (they were at legal limit) - if so where and should I ask for them back? Thanks. :)
  15. Yeah, I live in the Manchester area but yes, I would like to keep them the same colour :) Any idea on what paint I should use or color? :zee:
  16. Wow, that must be the fastest reply in history But thanks for the suggestions, I'll try to follow them up :) If anyone else has anything further to add, that would be great also particularly about painting as an option
  17. Hi, I have the standard 5 spoke alloy wheels supplied with the IS200SE, they were changed last year because of corrosion due to lacquer wearing off - problem solved. Earlier this year, on one spoke, I had a curb scratch and part of the protective plastic on the alloy started to peel off in that area, it now looks like bare unpolished metal and is a little darker than the surroundings? But 2day I noticed a small stone chip near the centre of one alloy, this has caused one entire spoke length to look watery/discoloured underneath. I'm sure a little paint job can be done to cover it up. Need some advice about paint, maybe refurbing in the Northwest area, any other economical possibilities? Thanks
  18. /panic mode on Wowzers! Dats scared the life out of me, how much tread did you have on that occasion? I mean I'm working to a budget but I don't want 2 kill myself either - lol
  19. Good answer. Thanks Never thought I'd get a reply till late morning, well done :P
  20. My IS200SE has done 13K with the standard Bridgestones but on my last service, they say the tyre tread is down to 3mm all round. 1.6mm is the legal limit, when should I change them.. at what mm? :) Thanks.
  21. Hi, what make/model are the stock brake pads? as I want to stay close to stock as possible. Thanks. :)
  22. I guess there is no way around the cost option - lol!:) I shall have 2 start putting pennies in my piggybank :o :P
  23. True, but u can't drive round town wiv so much noise (more noise inside than out - lol!), plus it sounds like the engine is coming apart at the seams above 4.5 K And the power output at dat level doesn't seem consistent wiv the noise being produced, I found changing to a higher gear at 3.5k results in more boost.. :D
  24. Hi, When my manual IS200SE has anything more than a quarter of a a tank of petrol, it is slow as a dog, disabling traction control helps. Optimax is ok but expensive. So ,what can I do to reduce weight (spare tyre stays where it is :winky: to get the car closer to the kerb weight apart from not carrying passengers, emptying the boot and keeping washer fluid to the minimum coz I'm doing that already? And is there a resistor I can pull to permanantly disable traction control? No expensive options plz, I'm skint plus it'll push up my premium :P ps. I already reset the ECU, helped 4 a day or 2 then went back to nomal..
