  1. Yes, true. Sorry, I meant UK models. GS350 would be the perfect compromise I think for performance vs economy. Alas, I'll settle for the V8 😂
  2. It's a GS430 as mentioned in John's post. The Mk3 GS comes in 4 engine flavours the GS300 (V6), GS430 & GS460 (V8) and GS450H (V6 I think) .
  3. Fair point. I've gotten used to using Google Maps so much through my phone, I don't even think about factory navigation in any car I've owned in the last 10 years at least. Kids gaming on my phone, no way 😅 You can still use Spotify in the background and skips tracks, but navigating it is more difficult and I wouldn't advocate it while driving! Yeah, that would be nice. Android Auto Screen mirroring as standard would be lovely.
  4. I really struggled to find a buying guide as I purchased a 55 plate GS300 recently, which I'm now unfortunately selling as I finally found a GS430 😊 The things of note to watch out for in my experience thus far: Check the headlight aim, as the auto levelling adjuster is prone to seize/snap Headlights can be cloudy/yellow Bonnet and boot struts can be worn out Exhausts are prone to be rusty if older, so budget £600-£1000 for a new exhaust or some repairs in the least Service history is important, I personally wouldn't touch one without decent service history TPMS sensors are prone to failing Check the MOT history online and see what it has failed on previously and recently That's all off the top of my head and good luck with your search.
  5. It is, I know! 😂 Haven't taken any yet but I will do, perhaps this weekend. Booking it in next week for some swaps with some mods from my GS300.
  6. On my GS300, it's only a very slight split so I will sell it as is and advise the next owner. My GS430 however has an aftermarket exhaust, which is too loud and needs modification to become more Lexus like. At the moment, it says look at me. The opposite of a Lexus in my opinion.
  7. Hi all, So, I was originally on the hunt for a GS430 and I settled recently for a nice example of a GS300 in my other post. Looks as though I didn't stop looking and I bought a GS430 this weekend just gone. I must be mad, I can't own 2 cars! So, the GS300 will be going soon despite not having it very long (6 weeks perhaps!). I'll be moving the G Spider wheels and Tanabe springs over to the GS430! Pics to follow...
  8. I've seen some of your videos on YouTube, good job on the work so far!
  9. I think they have aged fairly well considering, but I don't fully agree with your statement. I think the IS250 F Sport model is a nicer looking car than the IS200., even more grace style and elegance. But, each to their own!
  10. Genuine question - is there a reason you would use the factory navigation over Google Maps? I know it's not integrated into the car at all, but it always been very reliable and it's always up to date for me personally. Also, the resolution on modern phones is great and all you need is a decent dock for £15/£20.
  11. Is the offset the same on the new wheels you are buying vs your current wheels? Why are you changing your wheels, something wrong with yours? Any pics of the current vs new? Your current ones are 45 offset (ET 45), what's the offset on the new ones? Also, the new wheels are slightly narrower (new - 7.5J vs current - 8J), but that wouldn't make much of a difference on your car as it isn't overly powerful. Tyres would be similar to your current ones, as you can keep a similar tyre on a 7.5j vs 8j. I can't remember exactly what sort of size, I'm guessing it's 225 width currently? Maybe list up your current tyre size to give some indication.
  12. Thanks! They weren't my first choice as I prefer less 'busier' wheels. But, I actually really like them now. Odd haha Fronts are 33mm and the rear is 23mm. Will add to the original post too.
  13. Hi all, I've just had some work done on my car as of yesterday. I've had some Tanabe NF210 springs (imported) fitted to the stock shocks and also some G Spider alloys fitted with some brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's. 4 wheel alignment is booked for Monday, as the steering is slightly off centre now. The springs model number is TNF112 (link here - https://www.tanabe-usa.com/nf210.asp?id=2) and the drop is 33mm front and 23mm rear. They are the same springs for the GS300/430/460, which is handy. Not the best pics, but will take more when I'm out (also not cleaned, but clay barring the front end last week definitely helped!) I am pretty much a 'OEM +' kind of modder, so this suits me very well! A few other niggles to be sorted, but the car is finally coming together. Comments are welcomed.
  14. That makes sense about the driving wheels and the speed. I'm considering the following: Fronts: Rears: They seem to be fairly close to stock overall and will allow me to lower the minimal amount I've decided on, with very little hassle. Thanks again!
  15. Very informative, thanks. I would rather have the 45 profile, purely from a comfort and durability perspective too. In regards to the fronts, I'll look into the price difference between the 225 and 235 as well as the rolling radius calculator against the stock wheels. Perhaps I need to lower first to ascertain the arch gap? I will also check the calculator of the rolling radius, as I don't want the speedo to have too much error.
  16. Those are non staggered wheels I'm afraid. Mine are as follows: Rears - 18 x 8.5j and ET50 Fronts - 18 x 8j and ET45 In the past, I've had BMW's with 225 front and 255 rear when they are staggered. But I've no idea what these should be. Perhaps I'll need to ring Lexus who can advise based on part number or model.
  17. Hi all, I've recently purchased a set of staggered alloys, they are 8j for the fronts and 8.5j for the rears. My guess was 225/45/18 and 245/45/18? But, I'm completely guessing here. Also, I will be lowering the car on Tanabe TNF112 springs, which is 33mm at the front and 23mm at the rear. I'm starting to think it's more like 40 or 35 profile... Any idea on what the factory tyre sizes I should be getting for them? I've done a lot of searching on here and also Club Lexus, but to no avail. Thanks in advance.
  18. Appreciate this, I actually ordered the Reds as I wrote this post. I'll order the OEM Lexus discs from Lexus Parts Direct, they aren't expensive anyway. Thanks for your help.
