  1. It's the battery temperature sensor. The plug you have circled should seperate though it may take a little persuading!!
  2. Hi Ral, Have a look at the attached, it should ease your concerns. https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-uk-statement-on-vehicle-theft/?fbclid=IwAR2R9EDRIvImhhEKqEY_WYdMOVwpykI73qUSaVLs-vTlfWfyjMevD3ve-Kg&utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks Dec.
  3. Totally deflate the front passenger side tyre? Not good for the tyre but if if it is only for a week or two it should'nt do damage.
  4. Thanks for posting this Paul. I'm happy that your problem is sorted. It really is interesting to hear of the myriad ways that a failing battery seems to effect these cars. Dec.
  5. Have a look at these videos, may be of help.
  6. Lexus must be doing something right. Sales to the end of November are up just short of 60%. Some interesting figures here: https://www.smmt.co.uk/vehicle-data/car-registrations/
  7. Great news Piers. Delighted for you. Enjoy. Dec.
  8. I have one from my motorcycling days - best part of 50 years ago now!! Can't remember the last time I used it.
  9. They have left the sat nav ariel unconnected. Unit needs to come out again to connect it. Same happened when Lexus did mine. Dec.
  10. On our 2015 NX300h the VIN is stamped into the floorpan just under the front of the driver's seat and is certainly not removable. It is covered by a black plastic cover which has to be removed to get sight of the VIN. If this is the VIN position you are refering to, as Colin says, it wouild not appear to be correct.
  11. Hi Kath, The part numbers are 64530-53032 for the righthand unit and 64540-53012 for the lefthand. The struts are identical left to right but come with a sticker which is located in a differant position for lefthand and righthand and thus seperate part numbers. If you get a set of aftermarket units they will come as a pair and be identical. As I indicated in my post above I noticed a distinct improvement when I fitted a set of aftermarket struts but be advised that it is still heavier than a "normal" boot to lift. Bear in mind that it is a very large unit and this is probably to be expected. Dec.
  12. Just by pure coincidence I came across this yesterday should you need one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383830958790?hash=item595e1ba2c6:g:rZYAAOSwbV9fwLig&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0IrCBg2sMKoXuho%2BWdInxGYdjmYYzXeCAtkfuIkENeNj5z5tE5M5mhd1321R6wFq0PBP0zyGfIl1NAItwBp2pe4psaYN%2BJZkMtnSGsZNMBv4WrQyrGgWUEj3xBE8TV4z0x9KQsp3Ko7mVe3xA%2FdApQ9hpxyBBcz1AWBdN3JtVq62ZP1iseXWTOVIAeacjH0oeTDJObXwLJReIWknIQdNUqI7sn0gpNhGdovW55Gwx17Hp%2BGsrAff8%2BVr4h1OD46%2F82VYwF5P%2FXCIAIWfnujDzz8%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4DS__2jYg
  13. Hi Jeffrey, I bought mine just over four years ago shortly after I retired and have been delighted with the car. I came from a 2006 Mercedes 350SL and the difference in ease ( and cost ) of ownership has been incredible. The Lexus has'nt put a foot wrong and has been a great car to own and maintain. I would disagree slightly with Linas in that I would put the average fuel consumption at around 32mpg, but then again my driving is now quite leisurely and it is not the type of car that asks to be driven hard. The auto gearbox is 6-speed and has the option of performance, standard and snow settings together with column paddle shifters should you feel so inclined! It is as good as any box I have used in my previous cars with changes that are virtually imperceptible though I did change both the fluid and filter shortly after getting the car as part of a maintenance routine. All I can suggest it that you test drive any car that may be for sale in your locality ans see how it feels. Bear in mind that there were only just over 800 of these cars registered in the UK so they are becoming quite rare and the numbers of "nice" cars now offered for sale is very small. Hope this is of some help. Dec.
  14. Hi Malcolm, The link you referenced above is the one I had come across. However, before you commit to anything, I very strongly advise that you speak with your local Lexus dealer parts dept. to confirm the type and generation of the sat nav fitted to your car. The information I gave is purely from memory and would need to be checked as your car may have a later system fitted. My car is from the first month of production and I know there were several updates to various systems early in the model's life. In the end I did'nt bother with the update and simply use a Tom-Tom, with up to the minute maps, any time I need guidence. The original 2008/2009 mapping actually works quite well most of the time. Enjoy the car. Dec.
  15. Hi Malcolm, Your car has the 08HDD Nav system (Gen 6) and there is no "easy" way to update it. Updates are generally regarded as "Dealer Only" but I have recently noticed that some aftermarket suppliers are now offering an updated hardrive unit with 2019/2020 maps for £70. This, of course, has then to be fitted to your Sat Nav unit which opens up a whole new can of worms!!
  16. The foregoing thread refered to the official Lexus wind deflector.
  17. Hi Gabriella, Just wondering if you managed to get your roof problem sorted out. Dec.
  18. You could try hiring a dehumidifier locally and put it in the car for a few days. This would hopefully reach all the areas inside the car which may be suffering some dampness and which could otherwise lead to electrical problems down the line.
  19. Have you double checked the main ground to the body from the battery? It is awkward to access so it might be an idea to run an additional earth cable from the battery negative to a good body earth to see if this resolves anything. Dec.
  20. Here are a few links which may help. SOLVED - top doesn't goes up and down sometimes - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
  21. Hi Gabriella and welcome to the world of IS250C ownership. When you said that "nothing happened" when you tried to raise the roof I'm assuming that the windows did not lower and no indication of roof operation appeared in the instrument cluster? If this was the case then I would strongly suspect that the roof operating button may be at fault. If the button was transmitting your request to the roof control unit this would have resulted in a message appearing on the dash. As this dfid'nt happen then it would point to the switch not doing it's job. This fault has been reported a few times on the ClubLexus.com owners site in the US and has been resolved by either cleaning the switch and it's connections or by replacing it. Access to the switch should be quite straightfoward. You mention that the drivers window is slow to raise ( and lower?). This is something you should address as the operation of the roof is depensdent on all the windows being in the fully lowered position. I will try and find a link to the topic on the US site and will post it here if successful. Dec.
  22. I'm not familiar with the manual car but I would expect that there is a switch on the clutch pedal which controls the activation of the green light on the start button. Perhaps this is faulty? Just a thought.
  23. Great idea but at €149 per key ( on the Slovak website ) it is not cheap. However, if it is proven to be effective, it is probably worth the investment.
