  1. I'm finding my post face lift marginally better then the 1st gen even with the use of E10. Haven't usd ECO for along time either. Averaging 40.8 since new, and on 9,500 miles.
  2. Blimey, my first time looking at IS posts, as I'm looking for opinions from owners who may be disappointed Lexus are not bringing in the 2021 gen to the UK. I'm an RC owner who is attracted to the latest IS version, just frustrated we'll never see it.... Anyway, I've yet to come across a thread on this Forum as a whole that had negative attitudes towards other enthusiasts, until now. Think I'll get back to the low key RC conversations!!. ... take it easy guys.
  3. So you can set the number of indications to 3,5 or 7 on the light touch? Interesting, I'd prefer 5 for most conditions, he to look that one up in the manual.
  4. You could consider paint protection film and Ceramic coat on top. The film self repairs scratches and a good investment on what is an expensive car. I had my RC done with front protection, bumper, wings, bonnet, doors and sills. Costs a bit, 2 to 3k, but worth it I feel.
  5. Ditto. Just remember this is a seriously luxurious cruiser that can be swift when required. It is not a sports coupe. However I do prefer the RC on longer spirited road trips as it is just so comfortable compared to the weekend thrasher......
  6. Are your tyres original and supplied with the car? Mine came with Bridgestone Potenzas.
  7. The RC isn't a sports car to start with, it's a luxury GT with a nod to sustainability. For long journeys it's a great place to be. I have a Civic FK8 type r and that does "kick arse" but for a day out, I'd take the RC.
  8. Understood. Still booo. Enjoying some self isolation in my RC though.....
  9. With the hybrid system I don't think you can over ride this. If you are changing the exhaust for sound / power increase, not really the car for this. May be the 200t is more suitable.
  10. I had some from a Toyota dealer for my gen1 RC and both failed after about a year. Took them out and replaced the originals back in. Found they were rattling a bit so something broke in both. I can only assume this was down to closing the doors and the resulting jolts, although this seems quite a design flaw!
  11. I wonder whether it worth someone getting hold of a set of flaps and trying DIY to fit. My be a bit of cutting somewhere may be. I'm really getting annoyed that such a provision is made by Lexus, especially in a country as wet as ours.
  12. Peter, may be an Azure blue Takumi convoy there, seeing as you're in Wilts and I'm in Glos?....
  13. My orange pack / Bridgestone Potenza combo on my new car noticeably better than on my 17 car. Not really concerned why, just glad of it.
  14. Not a like for like comparison in terms of both performance and price. The natural Lexus competitor to the M4 is obviously the RCF.
  15. I think a standard plate breaks up the large grill quite nicely and to me having a personal plate adds to this. Not sure an import plate would improve the situation that has been raised.
  16. Ok, when I say puddle lights I mean the ones in the bottom of the doors. My last RC I replaced these with lexus symbol ones and they were advertised as puddle lights. Anyway, decided to get a screw driver to them and found they were not connected!!! Then it dawned on me that the company that applied the PPF and ceramic coating took the inside door panels off, so likely they over looked this reconnection! No harm done, just a bit disappointed in their lack of attention to detail.
  17. Noticed recently that both of my puddle lights do not illuminate. They are the oem ones that came with the car. Went through the car settings and nothing obvious if there is a function to turn on / off. Any idea peeps?
  18. Now I've had a couple of weeks to get to know the new 19 model, I'm quite surprised how many physical and intrument software changes there are from the original RC. I've noted some 20+ changes so far, and that's excluding improvements in refinement and improved driving experience. One I particularly like is the seat and steering wheel moving to improve egress from the vehicle when the seat belt is unplugged with no use of the memory seat function. Neat.
  19. Yes a definite disappointment not to have mud flaps available for the new car. I found the ones on my previous RC pretty good. I have got PPF on vulnerable areas of the bodywork but this just protects the paint from damage, not filth from a wet road..... I put my frustrations to Lexus uk anyway.
  20. My new purchase was driven straight to a wrapping company less than a mile from the showroom for ceramic coating and PPF. However I'm still keen to get mudguards fitted long term, but at least he sill, doors and rear section will have some debris protection in poor weather. Brand new car but can't drive it for a week..😂
  21. Well there is some inconsistency from Lexus then. Ones on Autotrader appear to have Bridgestones, and my demo also.
  22. Gone for the facelift now, F Sport with full Takumi. Azure blue with black. I realise now that Takumi F Sports come with Bridgestone RE050s, others Dunlops. REs favs of mine for grip and longevity. Also booked at local wrapper for front end PPF and window tints, so she'll look sweet from the off. Some TGR orange capped wheel nuts soon as well. Looking forward to having a sunroof again as well.
  23. Just done a good deal to exchange my 67 RC for a Takumi F Sport, Azure Blue. I had tested one about 6 months ago and was impressed with the tweaks and the extras that come with Takumi upgrade. Intend this one to be a keeper, well 5 years at least. Probably..... Thoroughly happy with the first RC and Lexus customer service overall, and then to have a car that turns so many heads. I've found myself taking the RC for spirited drives and leaving the RX8 behind on quite a few occasions as the driving pleasure is that good. Long live the RC, and onward and upwards Lexus.
  24. Good colour combo. football legend Sir Geoff Hurst who lives in my town has an RC in that combo.😀
