  1. Since I had cleaned the manifold and throttle body, the latter had to be recalibrated. I also re-bled the radiator just in case there was some more air trapped. Cheers mate
  2. Thanks to those who gave valuable input. That is the purpose of the forum, to help one another... The Lexus community was never about hate or sending someone to a German forum. I have successfully solved the issue. Cheers
  3. Thank you for your valuable input. Throttle pedal can come up back to the top without any issues. Will check the TPS and update the thread. Thanks again!
  4. Last time I told you that you really need to find a hobby. Now I can confirm I was correct. Every engine has its complexity, and nowhere have I said that I have removed my EGR or DPF. I suggest you get a life. If you read my post you know that I have cleaned my EGR. But you're one of those leftist aye.. misunderstands everything, conclude things on their own, and critises others before they have their houses or rather their room in order. You don't even have your priorities straight. You want to take care of our climate (cookie for that) whilst you still drive a petrol vehicle... you don't even drive in ECO. Look at your gif! Driving in sport! Not very environmentally friendly! So I'll tell you: sell all your cars, invest in renewable energy without taking any government grants (that money can be used to save the ozone layer) and give away the excess energy you generate for free. Demolish your house and plant trees instead (still can never plant more than I did in my lifetime). Stop buying clothes, and start walking barefoot. Dont eat out anymore. Dont use a PC or a phone as it's environmentally friendly. Don't go to a hospital, as their ORs operate by throwing anaesthetic gases into the atmosphere and your views are not inline. Seriously. Seek help from a mental professional.
  5. The video demonstrates my issue. For the RPM to fall I just pressed the throttle pedal very lightly. I also had the fan on full heat to help cool the engine bay lightly. The issue persists with or without the heat on. 20210721_102127.mp4 20210721_102127.mp4
  6. Hi guys, so last March/April I have cleaned the EGR and intake manifold. After doing so, the vehicle operated much better. One issue since: After I drive and the engine gets fully warm, and i start the engine again when it is warm, the idle rises gradually to 1200rpm. The RPMs rise very gradually. When the RPMs are at 1200, if i just lightly press the throttle pedal, they fall back to 850rpm. The AC is off during the high idle. Outside temps above 20⁰C. I have re-cleaned the egr to make sure it is sealing properly, and it is. Cleaned the MAF, reset the ECU. Seemed to help a little bit but the issue later came back. Removed the coolant cap and left the engine to warm up. Don't know if there's a possibility of air being in the system still. Any tips?
  7. Will do so when I get the LX450d to remove the DPF and EGR as well mate.
  8. You really deserve a trophy for your sense of humour now! That is actually half of the reason. The other half is blanking the egr, removing the dpf and the catalytic converters, giving a good burnout and dumping the tyres in the bushes 😉
  9. Linas, Rather than complaining and showing us how sad you are, you could have either gave some information on that sticker that I've posted, or went planting some trees. Start by getting rid of your 200t which emits more CO2 than my IS does. What a hypocrite you are! Quit whining about the environment unless you live completely independent off the grid, use public transport and cycle. Be perfect yourself before trying to change others. No, it's not about the money. And no, I never said I'm smart. I do know my limits. Seems like you don't know yours. I really suggest finding a good hobby to take care of your mental health. Cheers mate.
  10. You really are ****** off, aren't you? 😄
  11. Well, I did not choose a diesel for the money. Let's start with that. The maintenance per se is not that bad on a diesel. It's preventative. The EGR system on this particular model of engine is worse than others, that's why it gives problems. It was definitely not designed to be removed and cleaned every 5k miles, in fact they issued a TSB several years later. A diesel engine without an EGR and DPF which emits black smoke is one which is either badly maintained or badly tuned. I am yet to see a 2AD engine emitting black smoke... other than during regen 🙂 what sense does it make to keep carbon in the dpf only to ignite it later? Its better to let it flow freely. Also, to clean the EGR, you are not only releasing the soot back into the environment, but also toxic chemicals. So it really does make sense to let it flow freely without having to resort to other chemicals!
  12. I won't worry about it being illegal. Moralities are a different thing. The amount of trees I've planted this year make up for more than removing the DPF. My journeys are around 40 minutes, and time spent in traffic is only minimal. The fact that you mention that the DPF problem can be solved by driving on the motorway is only solving part of the equation. What about the EGR?
  13. Will post some photos today. Definitely blanking my EGR, don't want to deal with this again any time soon.
  14. Yes, even in the Auris SR180, and the RAV4. Later models of the engine did not give as much issues. It's why I'd like to know the year that my engine was produced. From 2008 onwards there weren't issues I believe. Owners who removed the EGR and DPF did not have any problems since then. Those are the root of the problem. I've just cleaned the EGR and am in the process of removing the manifold for cleaning. Around 15k miles ago my EGR was replaced by Lexus under the previous owner (found it from the lexus owners portal). Couldn't believe the amount of soot present... and I do drive with a heavy foot.
  15. This engine model was indeed used in the Avensis.
  16. If thought of the possibility that it could be the US style of date, so it would put mine in January of 2006. But being sold in Sept 2010, I doubt that they would produce engines from 4 years before.
  17. Hi, I have an IS220d, and would like to know what year my engine was built. Is it January of 2006?
  18. I really don't think so. I have found this thread and it's the same. Apparently, it really is something that Lexus has dismissed as normal.
  19. Hi all, just a question as recently I was checking out some lexus technical service bulletins. I have found one (CP-8002 if I recall correctly; if anyone has it please share) relating to a noise after pulling away. Basically, it only happens sometimes, when pulling from a stop and at relatively slow speeds, and only when changing from 1st gear to 2nd gear. When I got the car (around 3 years ago) my mechanic dismissed it as it is not an issue. but since I have found a TSB relating to this I am now concerned.
  20. Not selling sorry! Waiting to blank the EGR, remove the DPF, service and remap. Then will fit. Your best bet would be lexuspartsnow in the US. Ask them maybe they can arrange something for you. They've been helpful for myself.
  21. The F Sport after-market parts were only made for the US. Try to find someone who will ship it marked as used or write a lower price? A friend got me mine in a luggage - just the panel filter and the lower air box. Still did not fit it though.
