  1. Agree, my ML on my ES was much better. It feels like Lexus just slapped on a ML badge on a sun par system. Even the base model on the new UX sounds much better.
  2. Noco Boost - Most popular on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-GB20-UltraSafe-Lithium-Gasoline/dp/B015TKPT1A/ref=sr_1_8?crid=2RTTV1679HDEK&keywords=noco+jump+starter&qid=1704656008&sprefix=noco%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-8
  3. Hi @KazzyT I made the exact same jump and you can see my thread below: I had a ES Takumi and moved to a UX 300E Takumi. The UX is much smaller and easier to park than the ES. Space is not as ample as the ES. Seats are comfortable. The ES has a better sound insulation as you can barely hear the road noise, compared with the UX. The UX 300E seems to have a better sound insulation than the UX 250H Hybrid as I test drove it for a few days. The Hybrids are on run flats whereas the 300E is on normal tyres.
  4. I had the same issue as well, and the AA person did say the battery on the UX was small. He did however recommend to start the car and keep it on for an 1 hour when not being used, as the main battery would charge the 12v battery and also keep an backup battery jump starter just in case.
  5. The ES is based on the same platform as the Toyota Avalon and Camry, and the Avalon has now been discontinued. The ES and Avalon share a similar timeline. So wouldn't be surprised, if the ES was retired. Whereas the Camry is now been updated to the 2025 Camry and share all the similar designs to the new Prius - https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/camry/ So why is there no ES 2025? The ES 2024 has nothing new to offer. Just my two pennies' worth.

  8. Due to the fact, I know these low lifes will try again, so claiming multiple damages would only damage my pocket. Trust me they came back for a second go. In this case what would you suggest?
  9. No matter the anti theft devices, once the low lifes damage your car, then its not the same. They don't care. I rather they steal the car, so the insurance can deal with it, otherwise you are left with a hefty bill which is not cheap considering replacing the the whole bumper, and any damaged headlight cables, that you would need to pay from your own pocket. My unfortunate experience and a few members from here.
  10. This is the reason I parted ways with my ES, lovely car, but after an attempted theft that damaged the side panel and headlight cables. I bought multiple anti theft devices. But is it worth it at the end, not for me. This is a worry I don't need, I have a family and if I apprehend these low lifes trying to steal my car, what then, is it worth it?
  11. The response by Lexus is pathetic and utter cow dung. This is the reason I had to get rid of my much loved ES, after an attempted theft with a damaged side panel and headlight cable. When I took it to Lexus, the reps instantly recognised the damage and knew about it, without me saying anything. I have a feeling the ES is slowing being discontinued and Lexus does not want to deal with all the theft problems, why spend money on an old horse when it can be used on new models.
  12. Thanks all managed to find it 😊 It’s under Audio > Sound and not under Settings > Sound Bit confusing as why there are 2 sound/audio settings
  13. This is the only 3 options on my system. So no balance or sound adjustments. Clicking into the 3 options do not show any sound adjustments.
  14. Does anyone know how long does a fully charged battery on a UX 300E retain, without any usage, as in kept on the driveway. (a week?) Thanks
  15. Interesting, I don't see these options at all. The only options available are FM and DAB in the sound settings 😕 System Current Version Audio - 1146 Navigation - 1160
  16. Have used the fast charge public networks and it charges up to 80% in around 40 minutes, which is not bad. After it reaches 80% the charge rate is much slower, as I noticed it drops down to 10kW and lower. The public chargers are around 79p a kWh. I do have range anxitey, so will have to factor in the charge stops on a longer trip. @PaulWhitt20 Thanks for the ML thread. Unfortunately MY21 has the older nav with the track pad and not the updated touch screen.
  17. I have MY21 Takumi with the same problem and the manuals do not mention or show any settings for the ML.
  18. Hi All and Happy New Year, I have made the move to a UX 300E from my ES FSport and must say it is different but nice to drive. Road noise is much more audible and not as well insulated as the ES and the instant torque requires getting used to but overall happy with the UX. This is the Takumi grade so it comes with the Mark Levinson system, but I cannot seem to find any settings in the Sound menu of the Nav/Multimedia, where I could select options for the speakers and sound distribution. This was available on my ES which was also a Takumi grade, Does anyone here know? Thanks
  19. Hi All, With a sad and heavy heart, I have bid farewell to my F Sport ES, after an attempted theft, that left a damaged side panel and now moving on as this is worry that I don't need. One of the best cars I have driven, smooth and excellent fuel economy for a 2 ton with ample leg room for all occupants. If you learn how to drive it, it learns along as well and you will certainly enjoy how to harness the power when you need it. Would I come back, maybe if the security issue was fixed, but until then, I leave the ES group. Wish you all a wonderful festive period and keep a watch out for your ES.
  20. After seeing quite a few members on here having their ES either stolen or damaged due to attempted theft. I have unfortunately been been a target recently, but managed to chase them off. My beloved ES had the left side panel pried open and the headlight cable damaged. May those scumbags experience a 1000 painful deaths. The cost to fix it is a headache, and I have now multiple antitheft locks and devices in place. But if I have to do all this, just to keep my car safe, then I wonder if its worth it. I might as well go back to my 2013 Lexus that did not have any of these problems. All members please watch out for your cars this month as there is a rise in thefts due to the festive season.
  21. For what I understand the high beam lights and the open doors are on the same CAN line, which is an issue already. Below is a CAN diagram of a RX 300, so still used on the RX 450h.
  22. A software solution would be more costly to implement than putting metal protection. You have consider the software build, testing, rollout and management. I am a software developer, and trying to maintain software product cycles are a nightmare. The cab bus hack unfortunately is due to not having any security encryption, so it’s like surfing on an open internet connection. Toyota as a car manufacturer that has not fully embraced the new technologies.
  23. I will also be using similar one of these to attach it o the inside door handle to add more security, since once the CAN bus is compromised, all alarms would be turned off. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Door-Handle-Alarm-Intruder/dp/B01BNLDBCI/ref=sr_1_12_sspa?keywords=door+alarm+sensor&qid=1682349786&sprefix=door+%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-12-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1
  24. On the dark web, apparently website lists the models of cars ‘supported’ by the theft device: Lexus models including the ES, LC, LS, NX, RX and Toyota models including the GR Supra, Prius, Highlander, Land Cruiser - and RAV4. The prices are up to €5000 for one one these devices. There are products targeting many car models, including from Jeep, Maserati, Honda, Renault, Jaguar, Fiat, Peugeot, Nissan, Ford, BMW, Volkswagen, Chrysler, Cadillac, GMC - and Toyota. So not only Lexus, so best to use a wheel lock or any deterrent to make it harder for these criminals. I use a Stop lock pro and a Wheel clamp till I fix a solution on the CAN Bus theft.
  25. Welcome to the ES club @atticus Fine choice and you will also appreciate the great mpg. Currently I get around the 48 mpg mark.
