Sorry to hear that StevieK. I was concerned as the clearances are very tight in places. I suspect that all exhausts may not be identically aligned. Mine still ok but I've heard what I think is a minor potential exhaust rattle when going very slowly down a steepish gradient with the brakes applied. I've had this a couple of times now but can't replicate it intentionally. Whilst I don't like any rattles I'll live with this occasional short lived rattle rather than have the cat nicked. John B.

Had a couple of motorway runs. No rattles or vibration and clearance between cat and Catloc remained afterwards. I'm very happy with this. John B.

Haven't been far enough yet to get the exhaust fully hot but no vibration, etc. so far. Clearances to exhaust pretty tight in some places as intended to stop you pulling cat out of cage. Hopefully clearances will remain under heat and engine movements. I'll be happier parking it at Tesco now. John B.

I'll see if I can get a photo. I had mine from Lexuspartsdirect.co.uk and had local garage fit. I've had a few items from Lexuspartsdirect.co.uk and their service is really good. Very helpful and speedy delivery.

Had new model Catloc fitted today. No more vibration or rattles. Magic carpet ride has been restored. Substantial stainless steel cage. Looks to give far better protection than the previous model. Good response from Lexus in resolving issue.

My worry is not just the cost of a replacement cat but the hassle of getting one and having it fitted. I couldn't do it myself and even my local village garage has 10 day waiting list for any work, two weeks for MOTs. Then there's the problem about driving home and then to garage with open exhaust.

Interesting. Let's see whether Lexus issue replacements to purchasers of the old one as promised. Then work out how to get mine off!! John B.

Had my catloc fitted today. Gone from driving a magic carpet to driving a cross between a washing machine and a diesel railcar!! Vibration, clunks and all manner of other noises. Really unhappy. Hopefully Lexus will resolve soon. John B.

Garage say that pads seized and now ok. Took them a couple of hours to sort and as bottom caliper pins were replaced a few weeks ago and calipers cleaned up unsure why the pads seized so quickly. Also unsure how car could roll so freely yet pads heat discs so much. Anyway sorted foc other than taking 1/2 day traveling and waiting for work to be done. Thanks for suggestions, etc. Prize goes to i-s.

According to garage they cleaned up the calipers but they may have only swapped out the bottom pins. Checked codes today - none.

Thanks Herbie. There must be some electronic control of the hydraulic brakes to manage the switch between regenerative and friction braking but it's hard to find a decent description of how it's done. I suspect that it's done via the ABS/VSC. I've booked the car back into Lexus for them to have a look but as they're 40 miles away it's going to be a struggle to get it to them without causing damage - the OS disc gets that hot. I'll let the thread know what happens. I've got a good code reader so may see if anything is logged and/or try disconnecting the battery again to see if anything resets - clutching at straws.

Parking brake is off and I can roll the car easily. Just had both bottom caliper pins replaced by Lexus and there's no hint of brakes tight on discs on my drive. I'm wondering whether the electronic brakes can missaply the rears only??
