I have an LV multi car policy. The insurance on my 2018 NX was £250 last year. Just had a renew notice and it has gone up to £460 (appx 80% increase) Wife has a Golf GTI and that has gone up by 40%. The sooner Lexus introduce a plate to protect the Canbus, or other security measures, the better for us all. They need to up their game in this respect.

Going to view a car at main dealer

I would want a reputable brand of tyres fitted and not the cheap ones that they sometimes fit. Also check the boot to make sure the spare and tools have not been removed. -
Having been away for two weeks and catching up with things I came across this potential group claim against Lexus / Toyota. ( I don't think it has been previously reported ) https://www.leighday.co.uk/news/news/2024-news/toyota-and-lexus-owners-could-be-owed-compensation-as-some-keyless-vehicles-found-to-be-vulnerable-to-a-device-which-allows-them-to-be-stolen-in-minutes/ Having bought new, and owned, my NX300h since 2018, I have become increasing worried for some time now about CANBUS thefts and Lexus's failure to take action to prevent such thefts. Anyway, throwing this article open to the forum.

Paint touch up - DIY or leave to professionals?

A cocktail stick is ideal for touching in small areas. A touch up brush gives too big a blob. -
NX 450h+ - rear bumper protector.

I had the Lexus clear strip fitted to my NX nearly six years ago. It is still in place, has not lifted at all even using a pressure washer and has protected the bumper well during this time. -
I was just wondering at what stage did his air bag deploy?

Michelin Cross Climate
Grumps replied to hunslet's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Noise ratings do not relate to the noise inside the vehicle- Summer and winter tires have the EU tire label that indicates the noise level. This label, however, only covers external rolling noise. External rolling noise and interior noise may even be polar opposites, and reducing one may increase the other. I had original Yokohamas on my NX at a rating of 69db. Changed to Continental all season at 72db and there is now hardly any cabin noise. The car is transformed. I have just swopped all 4 tyres on my wifes golf and put on Goodyear vector 4 seasons. I read all the reviews available and TBH there is little difference between Michelins/Continental/Goodyear/Hankook's. Therefore for me it all came down to price and I got 15% off 4 Goodyear tyres. At the moment Black circles have 10% off Cross climates. -
I fitted Continental All Season tyres to all 4 corners of my 2018 NX. They have been on for 18 months now. The interior of the car is so much quieter, both in the wet and the dry. I have driven the car over sloping wet grass, where the original tyres gave up, and they never lost traction once. I had considered changing the car, but with these new tyres on it really does feel like a new car, so has potentially saved me quite a bit of money 😃

I also received an invitation. I clicked to join to be told that I was already a member. 😕 Well I already knew that but they didn't.

Toyota Aygo Hatchback 1.0 VVT-i X-Play 5dr x-shift

Before you buy a Suzuki Ignis I suggest you look at the NCAP results and satisfy yourself on the safety ratings. -
When my car was in for service the dealer phoned and advised that the alignment was out and they advised it should be tracked with 4 wheel alignment. They also suggested that the glass should be treated with a coating for protection. Too late as I already use a glass treatment (rainx) on it twice a year.

Yes Len they were Yokohamas. TBH I was glad to get them off. The car is so much better now. -

I bought my NX new just over 4 years ago. Over that time I have covered 21,000 miles and averaged 41.3 mpg. Nothing has gone wrong with the exception of the tyres splitting between the tread which is not a fault of Lexus. I changed the tyres for some Continental all season tyres and it was the best thing I have done. The car is so much quieter and it really does make a huge difference to the comfort levels. 4 months after fitting them I still pass comment on the huge improvement every time we go out in the car. Others have had fitted Michelin cross climates and say the same thing. So if you want to transform the car, can I suggest you get some premium all season tyres fitted. -
Michelin Cross Climate
Grumps replied to hunslet's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I had 4 new Continental All Season tyres fitted 2 months ago and spookily, just like you, I have a screw embedded in the tread which is not repairable. A new tyre arrives tomorrow. Try Camskill tyres as they have Michelin cross climates in stock in your size at the time of writing. -
I have just replaced all 4 tyres on our NX Luxury and had the same thoughts as you, so looked at the all season tyres. The car only has 20,000 miles and had plenty of tread left, but the tyres had split between the treads. I ordered Cross climates, but each set that were delivered to the fitting station had been stored incorrectly and the gap between the beading of the tyre was so narrow that they could not inflate them. The fitting station then recommended Continental All Season tyres, so Contis it was. Straight away I noticed a diffence. The ride was much better, but the noise reduction was so much better. It was if there had been a constant 'white noise' before. The radio was clearer and it was virtually silent on smooth surfaces. Only yesterday I had to go onto a sloped grassy field. Now I know the old tyres would have not got me to where I needed to get, but these tyres never lost grip at all. Would I buy them again? - without hesitation and I would have replaced the Yokohamas even sooner had I realised how poor they were.

I have had my NX serviced twice now at Lexus Preston. I have only dealt with reception and service staff and I agree that they offer a friendly, warm and very efficient service. I look forward to going there for my next car purchase.

NX 2022 delivery date
Grumps replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Just got this e-mail from our local Lexus centre- On 22nd February, Lexus UK will announce a price increase across new vehicles. Confirms what was previously mentioned a few posts back. No doubt this will affect those close to the 40k tax threshold who take delivery after this date. -

When I used to have issues like this, I would find a road near the dealers where I could replicate the issue every time I drove along that road. I then took the mechanic out with me so they could hear the noise. They had no excuse on not hearing the noise, but I did have- "oh that's normal sir" -

RCF Front Inner Tyre Wear
Grumps replied to BillNick's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I had this on my wifes car a few years ago. I had the car tracked and it was spot on. After some research I discovered that driving over those speed humps, (where you straggle the bump) causes the front inner edge of the tyres to wear excessively. As her journey to work involved driving over said bumps, then this was the cause of the wear. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/answer/66969/do-speed-humps-cause-tyre-damage- -
I had my car in for service at Lexus Preston a few months ago. I had a loan car and they were not concerned about useage, just enjoy the car was what was essentially said. I only did 10 miles in it, so you can use up some of the mileage I didn't use 👍

Called at Tesco to fill up my wifes car today. As usual, I carefully scanned the pumps to select the correct fuel and saw that Tesco are now selling E10 fuel. Went ahead and filled it up with E10 fuel so will see what difference if any. On additives, I bought Redex fuel injector cleaner from Asda for £2 and it does 2 fill ups. Used it in the NX and got better fuel consumption. Will add some more after a few more fill ups. Co-incidently used the Redex in the wifes car and also saw an improvement in MPG. Cheap enough at £1 a fill up and certainly cheaper than using super unleaded.
