  1. Try www.drivethedeal.co.uk the dealer contacts you. 6700 off an IS250 auto with metallic
  2. Get used to the rattles. Mine is coming up to 3 years old and the dash, front doors and various other bits of interior rattle. Lexus have tried a few times to fix them and been successful. but they always return. They will do it all again next week before the warranty runs out but I expect them to return.
  3. My previous 3 lexus were IS200s which all suffered the same complaint of corroding wheels and Lexus did change them. The excuse was it only happened in the UK so it wasn't worth fixing at source. When I bought my IS250 nearly 3 years ago I thought this would not be a problem - wrong One front and one back now have bubbles and Lexus will replace those 2 but not the others. The car has only done 17000 miles and, I would imagine, the other 2 will do the same but after the warranty has expired. The dealer told me Lexus are getting very strict and will not sort it out once the warranty has expired. After 11 years with Lexus and many problems we are to part company. I think they have quality issues and wouldn't be surprised if we discover a lot of components are now made to a price which is now about to bite back. I also run Fords at the same time and, over those 11 years, have always been far more reliable and generally don't visit the dealer between services.
  4. I had the same problem. After reading this forum I wished I'd taken it in to Lexus to show them so it could be fixed under warranty. However, since the mirror would still adjust side to side, I adjusted it fully to the right ( mine is the drivers mirror ) and then was able to adjust it up and down. The Mirror now performs as normal. I am getting concerned about the IS250 as the warranty finishes next month and it has had many niggling faults. Having had 4 lexus over the last 11 years and had problems with all I think we might now part company
  5. My IS250 went in this week to Lexus Hull who replaced the VVTR unit at the top of the engine. From all the replies on the forum I think this had been the problem so we'll see if it's fixed.
  6. Mine has just started the same thing and it's also auto. Will speak to Lexus Hull next week Will let you know what they say Update Spoke to Lexus Hull and it goes in next week. They think it's a heat shield and never heard of this problem. We'll see what they discover
  7. Mine has just started the same thing and it's also auto. Will speak to Lexus Hull next week Will let you know what they say
  8. My 2007 IS250 SE-L's rear view mirror would not auto dip fully resulting in the need to push it out of the way when following car's headlights were dazzling. Lexus Hull changed it under warranty but now it vibrates on anything but smooth roads. The after sales service manager drove it back to back with another IS250 and told me there was no difference. I know the diesels had this problem but has anybody else had this on the petrol versions. Lexus will order another for me if I'm not happy but there is little point if the new one will do the same thing. The last time I had this problem was 30 years ago and the car had Morris Marina written on the back. ( We all make mistakes )
  9. Thanks to both of you for the information so I'll go ahead and order them. Sorry about the confusion as to the Lexus I own but we have an IS 200 at the moment which is to be replaced later this month by an IS250 SE-L auto. As for diverting dirt away from the wheels to improve traction - they should patent the idea and make a fortune. Andrew
  10. Has anybody bought the mudflaps from Global Car Parts ref. http://www.gcpdirect.com/items/item.aspx?itemid=4128205? They look very similar to those fitted by Lexus ( cost £150 fitted ) but are a lot cheaper. If anybody has bought and fitted them can you tell me if a) They are a good fit B) They use existing fasteners or holes on the car. In other words drilling isn't required Cheers Andrew
  11. Took mine back to the dealer last week and he is sure it's the front shocks and is replacing them again. It would appear this solves the problem because it always cures it - but not for long.
  12. I went from a manual to an auto and didn't really notice the difference in perfomance. Since I'm now on my second auto I can only say I much prefer it over the manual. If you can afford a 300 go for it because the performance is a lot better, the gearbox is smoother, it is quieter and I have a theory the fuel consumption under normal driving conditions is better. I say this because we had one on loan from the dealer for a week whilst our new 200 arrived and it appeared to use less fuel and that silly fuel consumption guage always pointed at higher numbers. Autocar also found the 300 to be more economical ( look in the summaries in the back of any recent mag ).
  13. I've got a pickie that was printed in Auto Express a couple of weeks ago but I can't remember the site I got it from and it wasn't Autoexpress.co.uk. If anybody can tell me how to put it in here I'll do it
  14. I had the same problem on my first ( 99 V ) IS 200 together with that well know clutch judder. Lexus said they had modified the gearbox and all new cars in production were getting the 'new' gearbox so they fitted one to my car to cure the clutch problem. The 1st to 2nd gear change got worse and the clutch judder remained. I can't fault Lexus in their attempts to fix it though only in the design problem which should never have been there
