  1. Just read all posts. Probably all on your way now (or just got back?). Enjoy yourselves. Living in Ramsgate now. Weather in channel good, no wind or rain. Been sunny all day. Hope it's like that for your weekend. Bloke with Micra in Cologne Formula 1 (hotel!). ps don't drive like the Czech driver on one of your links unless it's on a computer game!
  2. Just got broadband. Looking at all the pics - very good. Liked the one bouncing off the rev limiter. I was the old bloke with the old Micra at the hotel in Cologne last year on our way back from Switzerland. Used to have an IS200 for 6 years but let my son have it at Christmas. Thanks Lee for the ride round the road near the hotel. A bit! faster than my IS200 but not a patch on the Micra!! Enjoy youselves again this year. :D

    Wheels

Read all the past comments about wheel corrosion and encouraged to ask for replacements. Plymouth fitted fresh wheels with no hassle 1 week short of guarantee running out. These are apparently lacquered refurbished but look OK. Still not sure of reason for corrosion - told about lack of lacquer (sorry), salt, poor alloy from Japan (due to environmental issues), thin lacquer (25micron not 125 micron as used by Volvo). Told to clean with alloy cleaner but also told this will do no good as the alloy is poor quality (not as good as European alloy (we must not bother about pollution!) and will corrode from inside. Apparently refurbisher only guarantees for 3 months. Lexus apparently will replace fresh ones if problem seen again. Lexus not sure if new grey ones are any better yet as they have not been around long. Bit confusing really. Anyway tyres are OK at present so I will keep an eye on them ??? ;)
  4. Thanks for the link. Could be the throttle like the replies say. It is not mechanical (clutch, gearbox). I don't remember it happening from new though so something may have altered. The throttle is strange though. If you slam your foot down it takes about half a second to respond. You can have your foot off again before it changes revs. Must be the fly by wire throttle? Shame as I seem to spend most of my time in traffic jams at the moment and it's hard to keep it above 4000 revs!! ;)
  5. Has anyone experienced uneven throttle response leading to engine acceleration and deceleration. At about 1500 to 2000rpm in second gear in traffic queues when trying to gently increase speed there is a sudden lurch and when slowing down again the engine suddenly slows. All leads to a jerky ride in slow traffic. All else seems OK with the engine. Done about 35,000 miles and serviced normally. Any advice? Thanks.
