  1. Never heard of that being done. You'd have to ultra precious about how your car looks. ?
  2. Yes I imagined that was probably the case...........I'll go up to 36psi now Thanks all.
  3. Yes, I've just found that out. Today is a lot cooler than yesterday, and the warning came back on. At least I know how to cancel it now. 🙂 I assume when you cancel the light, that resets the pressure limits. ? I'm not sure what the pressures should be on mine, with Dunlop sports fitted. I can't make head nor tail of the figures on the door pillar. I have them at about 34 psi at the moment.
  4. Thanks, I thought that was probably the case. I didn't realize that all vehicles have to be fitted with TPMS now.
  5. How do you tell which sensor is giving the warning ?
  6. Not a lot apparently. The chap who sorted mine out, says it's a very common issue. Just a shame there's nothing (I could find) in the users manual. I shall print something out for the benefit of the next owner.
  7. It can activate for a number of reasons, temperature changes being just one.
  8. Thanks for the reply. The problem is, there are so many versions of the is300h. I went over the road to the Lexus service centre and a chap kindly came out and showed me where the button is.. It is more or less where you said, but very difficult to see. you would need a mirror in the footwell to be able to see it. he said it's very common for the light to come on, as they are so sensitive. A lot of people just leave the light on, which is ok until you get a puncture.
  9. Today I had the Tyre pressure warning light come up. I checked all tyres and pressures seemed ok, although I did put a bit more air in just to make sure. The light is still showing though, how do I reset it ? Most of the articles I see, talk of holding in the TPMS button, which my car doesn't have, AFAIK. It flashes once when the ignition is turned on. Maybe it's down to the weather ?
  10. Yes I think that's the case. Mine seems to be the basic Executive edition. As I mentioned previously, the chap in the service centre explained that to fit the Lexus camera, would mean pulling the car to pieces. With the new wiring loom alone costing something like £1500.
  11. True, I've managed without one for the nearly 50yrs of motoring. 🙂
  12. Yes I am still mulling over whether to get a camera or not.... Is it worth spending about £560 ?
  13. Debris in radiator fins maybe ?, it has been rather hot recently too.
  14. You have to wonder how much more it would cost when the cars are being made, to add a camera, and in the case of mine, speech recognition. ?
  15. Yes, I seem to remember there are a few hills in Devon. I probably need to get to the top of Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire and try this 🙂
  16. Although it's obviously advisable, I didn't think there was a legal obligation to get servicing done at a dealers, in order to comply with the terms of a warranty. You just had to show that it was serviced in accordance with the makers specifications. Not if the warranty is with a dealer anyway, it may be different with an extended warranty ?
  17. Thanks Matt. I hopefully won't have any issues that need to be dealt with. I don't know if Lexus Customer Relations are based in the UK ?, I can only assume they are. Going by the names of those who answered my emails to Ford, they must be based somewhere in Africa.
  18. The only dealings I've had with the customer relations deptartment so far, is regards the fitting of a reversing camera. When they told me it couldn't be done by Lexus, which was confirmed on visiting my local service service centre who explained why. In general, how have those of you who have needed help or information, found them to be ? My experience with Ford (for a runaround we own) has been diabolical. All Customer relations do, is to refer you back to the dealer. Then the dealer refers you back to Fords, so you get stuck in a loop of buck passing.
  19. I regularly had a "full battery" on my Civic Hybrid, but that was a different type of hybrid.
  20. I find it difficult to believe, but apparently some people pay others to wash and vacuum their car 😲😨
  21. I'm considering an extended warranty when our 12 month warranty runs out. More than anything, it's for peace of mind. Regarding washer fluid, avoid the Halfords one. I used it on an Accord I had several years ago. It took me ages to flush it out with a hose pipe. As every time I washed the windows, it smelt like cats pee.
  22. Thanks David, I will try this next time I find a bit of quiet road.
  23. I thought I was the only one with this problem.... So what is the correct way to cancel indicators (not the overtaking mode) ?
  24. I trust the corrosion problem has been overcome now on the is300h. ? I haven't had a rust problem on a car for many years.
  25. My is300h must be the best car I've owned, most expensive anyway...Although my Civic hybrid never gave me any trouble. Worst car..I've had a few rust buckets over the years, but a MkIII Cortina was probably the least reliable.
