  1. Regarding the VED, it's what I read elewhere, if the original on the road price was over 40k
  2. As I've mentioned elsewhere I am looking at selling our IS300h and buying an NX300h Being lower to the ground and me getting on a bit, I find getting in and out of the IS an ordeal at times. It also lacks a lot of the bells and whistles we have on our Yaris. Such as rear view camera, Android Auto and various other bits and pieces. We are looking at an NX from around 2020-21, and will be buying from a Lexus dealership. Other than the big VED increase, probable insurance hike, as well as security issues, is there anything to look out for when going around the forecourt ? I understand fuel economy to be in the mid to high 40's per gallon, what do others get ? I'm pretty light on the loud pedal and am getting (an indicated) 52mpg from our IS.
  3. I assume the price for VED purposes includes VAT. So if you want anything other than Black, you go over the £40k threshhold. What happens if it comes just under the threshhold
  4. I'm in a similar situation. I presently have the IS300h with off white interior, and am looking at getting a 2020-21 NX300h. Like you I notice most have black interiors. I'm not interested in a sports version, or anything other than an NX300h.
  5. I'm looking at buying a used NX300h in the not too distant future. Probably one from around 2020-21. I take it that it will fall into this higher tax band ? A big change from the £10 a year I currently pay with my IS300h
  6. As i previously said, the wrong choice of words
  7. Thanks for the info. I've checked the measurements, and it's only a fraction longer and wider than the IS. So many things to ponder. I was looking at the NX, but that's more of an upmarket version of our Yaris, which we use as a general run around.
  8. I've done all of the measurements, and the NX wouldn't be a problem. I always back into my garage, and most other parking places. I'm having second thoughts now, and am now looking at the (Used) ES Its a fraction longer and wider than the IS, but would still go in my garage
  9. We presently have the IS300h, which we have been more than happy with, in just over four years, the only thing that failed was a spark plug. Later this year we are looking at a replacement, something from around 2020. I initially looked at the NX, but now have been looking at the ES300h, as it is only fractionally bigger than our IS, so will still fit in our garage. From the various videos I have watched it seems a very nice car, and comes with a lot of bells and whistles. I'd like to hear people's experiences of ownership.
  10. I am now looking more towards a used ES, only a fraction longer and wider and feature packed
  11. Something I didn't take into account was that my IS300h fits nicely in my garage, most of the other cars are longer and wider. The NX is shorter and only a fraction wider, but might be too tall...So many things to ponder 🤔
  12. As the IS is no longer made, I am now looking at the ES.
  13. I've been looking through various adds for used IS300h models , but the specs don't mention the features I am after. Maybe I need to move over to the IS300 section ?
  14. I have Android Auto on our Toyota Yaris. It's great for navigation with voice control.
  15. Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize the NX was quite so thirsty. Especially after getting 50+ mpg from our IS300h.
  16. We are looking at possibly changing our car this year (2023). We've had our IS300h coming up to 5 years and will be 8 yrs old this year. There's nothing wrong with it (touch wood), but we'd like a change. I want something with a more few bells and whistles, like reversing camera and auto folding mirrors, as well as Android Auto, which our Yaris has. I'd like something about three years old, so have been looking at the NX 300h. What sort of MPG do people get from theirs, and do they recommend them ? We'd get another IS, but they no longer seem to be available, not with the specs I want anyway.
  17. I took it out and found it was like new, so it may have been changed at the last service. I don't do many miles in it. It came out much easier than the filter in my Yaris.
  18. Thanks for replies. I've never bothered to check to see if the filter is replaced when serviced, (I'm on a service contract) , but it looks like it is. I might take it out for a look anyway.
  19. I wonder how often people replace the cabin air filter in their Lexus ? I looked at the filter in my Yaris the other day and it was filthy, mostly with chopped up leaves. It's only about 18 months old. My Lexus is 7 yrs old and I dont know if the filter has ever been looked at, it certainly hasn't in the last three years. I don't expect it's part of a service schedule. ?
  20. I get an indicated 50-52 mpg from my IS300h. I don't use it for trips around town, as I have a Yaris for that. I've never bothered doing a proper test, but I don't think that's bad for a 2.5l engine. Yes I do know how to do a proper test
