  1. Heh, tbh I can't even remember! [emoji16]
  2. Hi Daniel and welcome to the forum! [emoji112] As for pads, last time I changed on my old RX I did go for the cheapest aftermarket ones I could find online. Certainly not the best practise. When it comes to brakes you shouldn't try to save a few bucks. As for gearbox oil, it can't be said too many times to change it repeatedly. Especially automatic transmissions (which most Lexus are) will need fresh oil to not wear out.
  3. Have you checked all fuses? Is the ECU CEL on? Btw no LX300 was ever made, do you perhaps mean a RX300, or a LX450?
  4. Maybe the transmission solenoids had blown? I'm absolutely no expert but I vaguely recall people describing similar symptoms (gears not engaging) with those being defective.
  5. Welcome onboard! Your RX looks really great, also in it's interior.
  6. Found an old thread on the given task. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/113558-gs-450h-spark-plug-change/ Seems he (or she) found it to be somewhat troublesome. Let's face it, almost all Toyota engines with V-configuration heads will give you a PITA with the plugs on the "buried" bank. I myself don't own a GS, but an old RX with the 1MZ engine. The rear three plugs is a nightmare.
  7. I have RX300 of model year 2001, still going strong! [emoji1] Welcome to the forum! [emoji112]
  8. When we bought our 2001 RX300 it came with this — not only "juicewise" but also psychically — undersized battery. Clearly not a very good pick, as OEM spec is 72Ah, guess some previous owner let his or her wallet decide. Anyways, it starts the car. However, it drains out if the car isn't used for a month or so. Also, charging it till charger indicates full takes around 24 hours. Guess this is a sign of wear and tear. Not sure what to pick for replacement.
  9. Welcome onboard! [emoji112] Did the officers cut you some slack after you had explained? [emoji38]
  10. I got here through a Google search. [Like most car owners] I've been struggling with a couple of issues over the years, and I've found the Internetz to be the best source of information. Also, the vibe around here is very friendly. The online world — generally speaking — has taken a huge beating, especially this last half decade, so it's cool to see there are still some nice guys out here.
  11. My RX300 suffers from exactly the same problem; the intermittent "interval" turning wheel does nothing, the wipers operates back and forth though. Anyone has a clue where the relay is located? Not integrated with the wiper control rod/knob assembly, is it?
