Personally I’ve had four 4th rx450h’s and consider them the best of the 5 gens. get the canbus security plates fitted. if you are still worried have a canbus set of plates and ghost 2 fitted; this will prevent key cloning and car hacking. if you are still still worried get the canbus, ghost and a tracker fitted in case they lift the car onto a waggon and drive it off. if you are still still still worried, stay at home and get under the bed as there are risks with all walk of life. As for insurance, most all premiums have risen 40% in the last year so they will likely get you no matter what. if you live in a city say, London, possibly an e-bike or e-scooter is the direction of travel pushed by the mayor. good luck with that.

I believe the box of that age requires plates, which are not available. Only on 4th gen RX.

I was quite clear 2015-16. While at the 4th gen was released in 2015, there were also some 3rd gen’s about. Post amended.

I had them fitted to both sides as an ECU is on the back of both headlights

3rd gen are not susceptible. 4th gen are susceptible to canbus theft. 5 th gen’s signals are scrambled so not susceptible to canbus theft. I have canbus plates fitted (last summer). I have just about; likely back off using it a little until the spring and nicer weather. Hasn’t missed a beat.
