  1. I almost certainly will Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Congrats on the new car. Its interesting they've improved the electric drive element to the car - didn't know they'd changed the 300h drive train at all.
  3. SUV's tend to be rip off. Look what a UX and NX costs. The ES is a far nicer car than either. I am going to certainly try one out.
  4. 50Litres... That's small. Still it's a good 20mpg on my GS250 so touring range is probably 400 miles.
  5. I’m struggling too. The LS seems the logical upgrade in 500h form in the new shape or 460 form in the prior shape. I looked an the IS300h - nice looking little saloon but fear it’ll A) be a bit small inside B) won’t be as comfortable on long journeys. The plus is my money will get a much newer example and it’ll be peanuts to run it. Finding a GS450h is another option (I drive a 250) and I don’t want a GS300h - it’ll be slower than my GS250 - so will an IS300h but not as slow as a GS300h. I wonder if the new IS, when it comes, will be a rear driver again or move to the transverse platform the ES and Camry are spun off - or it might disappear altogether Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Get the RCF - it’s the car for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. A nice evening in Spain I spent a wonderful evening in the Canyon Anisclo at the end of September. Here's a few from the shoot. I had settled on this composition to hide a rather ugly bird hide deeper to the right and to frame the view North through the Canyon _DSC3658 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr _DSC3682 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr Out of the corner of my eye I could see the sunlight also hit the peak of Pena Montanesa (facing due east) so I set up a second tripod to frame this shot and so I could keep the tripod in the position of the former two. _DSC3687 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr The light got better and better _DSC3702 (1) by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr And after it faded I returned to my other tripod and grabbed this _DSC3712 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr
  11. Was it glasgow you got the car. I think I recognise the dealership. You’ll love the car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Not for me. I couldn’t care less. A charger is good as is Bluetooth and navigation fine. Music etc dies nothing for me so I don’t feel the need for fancy infotainment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Sounds like the Camry might be “the one” over the ES. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So the IS isn’t moving to a transverse Mount platform. That’s good news. The not so good news is other than the 300h from the current one, the 5.0 v8 and the V6 turbo (bet that’s a peach) there isn’t a huge range of engines to choose from. They could well use chocolate bmw engines Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. If you want to see German car butt hurt go onto Pistonheads and see the fanbois get irate whenever the quality of a Lexus IS promoted. To be fair all my Lexus has had from my immediate family and friends is love and admiration. They were particularly shocked to discover it was more comfortable than the previous Mercedes and admitted it was “nicer” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. My mate worked out there. They properly drive off road in the Dunes. They’ll be mega fun for that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. They do but it’s not so crushingly expensive here to make a 5.7 GX an impossibility. Agree they wouldn’t sell many but a few would take one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yep. I wanted a Gs350 but have the 250. I’m gutted we won’t get the ES350 - just the hybrid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. They call it the LX. It’s a travesty we don’t get that here. The Americans get much better Lexus than we get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The desire to keep Co2 emissions down is at total odds with SUVs which by virtue of their height and aerodynamics are less fuel efficient than a conventional car. If you look at the UX it’s almost car like compared to say the RX. SUVs will morph into ever so slight raised hatches which will at least roll less than present day equivalents Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Indeed - it’s an odd forum as discontent about the cars ability to function is mute but plenty do wish they were faster. I love the idea of the hybrids but I’d really rather have a nice big petrol in there - especially if it costs less and goes harder/faster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. An ES250 or even an ES200t would be great imho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Classic knee jerk post. Couple of things. If you crash at 70mph you are dead. If you crash at 120mph you are dead. You cannot be any more dead than dead. If driving at high speed was so dangerous in itself Germany would be a blood bath - but it isn’t. I appreciate you may not wish to drive at these speeds but plenty motorists do. It’s good and it’s right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. German cars are hopelessly unreliable - yes but they’re engineered with their domestic market in mind. ADAC are very good breakdown specialists. I lost my license due to driving at over 125mph quite a few years back. I wouldn’t recommend it but in Germany it is good and right to do and one of the best feelings in the world is being able to drive safely at any speed you want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. About 3 months ago at 144mph in Germany. I’d liked to have gone over 160mph but sadly I don’t have the 5.0 or 450h Full kick down 0 to 60, strangely the last time I drove the car turning onto the a82 at Firkin Point. I do actually do this quite a lot - just to hear the engine as it makes such a wonderful sound Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
