  1. Royoftherovers your reply to the OP "You will need left hand drive lamps to pass the Spanish ITV." Does that mean you cannot adjust or reset the lamps to suit Spanish requirements. I ask this as I am living in Spain, Murcia already and planning to get Spanish plates on my LS430. Is there a work around, like reposition brackets? Or do you need a new reflector body, the link you gave doesn't say anything about the head lamps, just general statements. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  2. "who the f*** is Milly" (aka Alice?) I'm sure I wrote kullyb. Damn predictive tits. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi Milly I own a LS430 and for that model the head lights have to be on for the washers to work when you press the button. It might be the same for you. Sent from my AGS-W09 using Tapatalk
  4. Damn, that means I have to remove the door card's and go routing. Anyway thanks for the reply. It'll give me chance to do a good lube job, after 16yrs it probably needs it though. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you messi, one further question please is the rust generated from inside the door panel or salt and debris trapped behind the plastic door sill? Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  6. Sorry to butt in on this post, but messi and The-Acre mentioned rust on the front doors being a problem on the LS430. Is it an obviously seen fault or is it hidden until it's too late, my door's look good but if it's hidden I don't mind checking it out and rectifying before it does become a problem. 7. Thank's for your reply ambermarine, before I look to contacting Paul, I may as well take the opportunity to remove the sun roof to better assess my situation. Do you know if there are any threads on removing the liner and the sun roof, so that I can DIY it myself. I have tried to use the search function in tapatalk but whether it's my phone or just my stupidity I can't get to grips with the search function. Thank's again for your advice the_pidster Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  8. Pics of car. Sorry for the crimped views, I will try to get better one's soon. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  9. In May this year my head was turned away from looking for an S class Mercedes, to a LS430 when I viewed on in a trader's pen and went for a test drive, sold! No, not that particular car but that model it had everything I was looking for. So my searching switched to Lexus, in my search I viewed quite a few and all the one's I viewed appeared to have similar fault's, steering wheel rake and angle not working, under body rust, alloy wheel"s corroding and flaking rust under the leading edge of the moon/sun roof. I continued my search until I found the one. Steering wheel rake and angle still not working, under body rust minimal, alloy wheel corrosion acceptable, flaking under leading edge of sun roof acceptable, and the main selling point cheap in comparison to others I had seen in a much worse condition. As I was buying the car as a rolling restoration to break the boredom of retirement I was happy to proceed. What a car I been to Spain and back twice and the car has been great. Maintenance wise I have carried out general servicing, fitted rear discs and pads, flushed the brakes and filled with new fluid, drained the diff and filled with new gear oil and have just finished painting the rear running gear with Bill Hirsh miracle paint. I am now ready to move onto the moon/sun roof rust problem which I considered acceptable, more fool me, when I look further the rust has eaten away more than I thought (see photos) the rust on the leading edge I feel will be easily dealt with but the rust around the bend is inaccessible, do I have to take the sun roof off, if so how? Or is there another remedial solution? Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  10. Pobrown, I received the disc you sent me through the post. A very big thumbs up for that, much appreciated. But sad to say no joy still getting the message unable to read data. So I'm going to have one more go at cleaning the laser lense before calling it a day, and accepting that I don't have sat nav, other than on a stand alone unit. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  11. Hi pobrown just to let you know there is no disclaimer screen appears. There is only the message unable to read data. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  12. Here are photos of the disc I received with the vehicle. I noticed it states ver 2002 yet the car is 2003 registered. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  13. there's a more worrying issue that you might like to consider having effectively bought your fabulous car through the auction that is: Has the radiator been changed ? to prevent the gearbox water ingress issues If you know all about the idiosyncracies of the Ls430 then i apologise upfront for mentioning this. Malc I am aware of this possible problem in fact the lower fins on the radiator are degraded quite a bit the outlet couplings to the transmission look good though. I'm considering which way to jump, As I only live a few miles down the road from Tony Frost , it might be a good condition radiator v's oil cooler modification. But not necessarily both. 14. To scudney. That's fine but how many disc's do I try at £XX each to find out that the fault is elsewhere? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  15. To royoftherovers. Not really able to find that out, the guy I bought the car from gave me the DVD in an envelope and when I asked him about it he said that was how it came from the auction house. Although I do have the name and address of the original owner from new, I feel a bit cheeky contacting him. Data protection and all that! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
