  1. That sounds like a very good suggestion! I have half a mind to start ripping my interior to pieces now but I know the entire centre console has to be lifted off and the radio removed so might be quite a time consuming job... I'm thinking the housing will be there purely to act as some kind of resonator just to affect the sound, I can’t see it being anything more complicated than a simple speaker inside but I have been wrong before....
  2. Hi, I ended up getting Lexus Bolton to quote a repair for me while my car was in for a service, which from memory I believe was £270, apparently they see this same problem quite a lot. I since contacted Lexus Parts Direct and eventually managed to figure out what speaker is causing the problem (as even a Lexus parts specialist didn’t know that this speaker existed!). As it turns out, it’s not the central speaker in the dash, that speaker is just used for the audio system, there is an additional ASC dedicated speaker within a speaker-box which is located behind the radio within the dash. Ive added the link down below to the part but even the speaker and housing alone is £158.98 so I haven’t really been able to justify the cost to myself for a fake engine noise.... https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-is/lexus-is-phase-3-asc-speaker/ Hope this helps!
  3. Can’t answer that one haha. I know I’m just a stickler for things working as they should. Had another look at it yesterday and it turns out that central speaker isn’t actually playing music at all so was wondering if it should or if it’s just for the ASC system, might be a dead speaker...
  4. Hi, I've had my IS300h f-sport for around 6 months and the Active Sound Control has started to make a horrible noise. It sounds like the speaker in the centre of the dash is blown so I just get a hideous crackling noise from it but when I'm playing music the speaker sounds great... So I was wondering has anyone experienced this? Is the ASC played through a different speaker? And does anyone know how to get to the speaker? Thanks
