  1. They look great, the colour sets off the silver really well and the silver caps are barely noticeable. I think they actually suit the darker wheels. Takes years off it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. There are a lot of great roadside charging solutions being designed, and in many cases implemented, right now From lamp post chargers, to terminals built into the kerb (Oxford City Council ran a trial on this) there’s loads of things coming to make home charging easier. Armadillo and ConnectedKerb are two such companies with products in use now. As time goes on more streamlined, discrete, options suitable for old high streets will be available. Certainly there’s the option to charge at supermarkets, offices, gyms etc springing up everywhere too. I think there’s a place for both Battery and Hydrogen and I don’t think either is the wrong way to go, but Hydrogen seems less practical than charging a battery right now. 3. Thank you! These are very useful tips Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. When I was shopping for my RX, I seem to remember I found the panoramic roof had a bigger impact on rear headroom than a standard sunroof, on a 2009-2015 450h Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don’t really have a huge problem with the need to charge it, but I do think it’s very poor to have it as an additional cost. It really should be part of the overall price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Could it be a blocked EGR Valve? This could cause the hesitation felt and as it gets worse could throw up a Check Engine Light? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. You're welcome, happy to help. I did, it seemed to be quite reliable, certainly in the massive stack of bills I had with the car there was no mention of it ever being touched and it seemed to go up and down as it should, sometimes the pump was a little loud but I think that was cold weather rather than age. The only caveat of the air suspension, I would say, is that I couldn't really tell. I don't think the car was exceptionally smooth, especially when compared to conventionally sprung RXs.
  8. I’ve recently sold my 2010 SE-L Premier, I averaged about 30mpg over 25000 miles, my best run was about 37. I couldn’t live without a head up display now, they’re such a good idea and really help with keeping your eyes up on the road, especially if using NAV. The LED Headlights were good, but they never blew my mind. Good, and crisp light but I can live without them. The alloys on the car were in great condition, and despite an ugly coming together between my alloy and a sharp kerb, there was no sign of damage or peeling etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi all, Just a quick update on this, I managed to get this repaired using some super strong Gorilla Glue, it is really strong now and looks as good as new. Lexus weren't interested in a goodwill gesture, understandably really, but thanks to Chris JJ as it was worth a try. The cruise control works as well as ever and I didn't have to mess with an airbag, that made me a little nervous. Sadly, due to changes in personal circumstances, I'm moving the RX on this week. (Not because of the Cruise stalk 😂) I've loved having it and will miss the luxury, but needs must! Thanks for being such a helpful and welcoming group! Alex
  10. Thanks Nigel! I was really surprised too, I think the plastic had just weakened - but the car is 10 years old! But some judicious application of Gorilla Glue on the original part and you'd never know, it's as strong as ever and looks good as new!
  11. Does your key not have a 3rd button? This is the key for my 2010. The key remotely operates the tailgate. I thought the tailgate handle was faulty on mine, but was reassured that only the key or the button on the dash can remotely operate the tailgate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hello, Just driving home this afternoon and on cancelling the cruise control there was a crack and my stalk had snapped! I’m not a heavy handed person, but the stalk does look a little tired. The car is 9 years old and has 100k miles plus, so it’s reasonable wear and tear I suppose. Has anyone else had this happen? I’m nervous of the cost of replacement and wonder if it’s worth buying the stalk and doing it myself. Would be keen to hear your experiences. Thanks! Alex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That’s almost identical to the load cover fitted to my pre-facelift RX450 mentioned earlier. It’s a shame they didn’t carry it over as it’s a really clever design. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. This I find very interesting, SpottedLaurel of this forum has a post facelift which has this same issue, when comparing our cars we saw my 2010 has some flaps that clip onto the back seat covering up that gap. I wonder if it would be possible to fit this to yours? However, my car has a huge gap against the tailgate that you can see through so it’s not perfect! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Mine never changes the display on the dash, always showing ‘N’ however, if I leave the motorway at a short slip road I hear the compressor working when I reach the roundabout at the top. I’ve always just assumed that it does it without changing the display. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Just over a year ago I bought a 2010 SE-L Premier from Lexus Stockport. It’s Cadoxton Slate over Ivory and had 80,000 miles. In the last year it’s done over 20,000 miles faultlessly, it does look a little tired externally (is the paint particularly thin?) but this is mainly because of selfish arseholes in car parks. The interior wasn’t mint when I got it but was pretty close, it’s a little worse for wear in places now but isn’t awful for a 9 year old car. It does polish up beautifully though and after a wash still looks a million bucks. The Ivory interior wears quite well for its colour, I think. I paid £17,495 for it, which still feels wayyy too much but only because all my previous cars combined cost this much. I tend to not worry about resale values, because they’re tedious. If I take the purchase price and mileage it’s cost me less than a pound a mile which I’m happy with #manmaths. I probably won’t have it too much longer, because circumstances have changed, but I do adore it. Yes it’s thirsty, but it weighs 2 tons. Yes, it’s a pain to park in tight car parks, but it’s a great place to be stuck. The red one sounds canny and was my preferred colour. Wishing you well in your search! 17. I read on here once that either there’s a really large reserve or the miles to empty is set too high so you’re less likely to run out. Something like that anyway. Weirdly, I’ve always thought I can’t get enough fuel in mine and been surprised at how little goes in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. My very best “full to empty” is 37 MPG which I’ve seen about 5/6 times. I’ve done over 20000 miles in it in the last year and I think my overall average is about 32. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. The above post on hypermiling reminds me, this is my absolute best effort. It was absolutely exhausting, but over exactly 20 miles I managed the below figure. It can be done and I daresay you could get 40+ out of it every day if you really wanted to. But you’d be a broken man by the end of it, the concentration required is intense. 20. That’s great news, happy to hear you’ve had such a result. I’m also relieved to hear the quality of the work at Bolton as my car was serviced there for most of its life [emoji57] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I’ve got a 2010 model and I see around 30mpg usually, but that’s with sitting in traffic for over 20 mins then a short blast up a dual carriageway. Not exactly peak economy run. The best tanks I’ve had I managed 37mpg which is on “extra-urban” 30-50mph runs. On the longest runs it has done (Cambridge to Glasgow) I saw about 33. If I drive a little slower it’ll see 34/5 on a run. Best full tank I’ve ever seen was 430 miles, Worst was 280. Economy is always worse in winter. It’s all down to how you drive it and regrettably I’m just as addicted to the shove of the V6 as I am to the creeping around in silence of the electric motor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Funny you should ask this as I got an email today, asking me if I wanted to extend mine. It’s 10 years and 140,000 miles according to Lexus Cambridge. They’re also offering two years for the price of one, which is mighty tempting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Taken from the Lexus blog this morning, good news confirmed for connectivity fans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. No issues, just maintenance. 2 front tyres and just had to get brake pads and discs alongside a service so it cost over £800. But full Lexus history is worth it long term, especially with the hybrid health check extending the battery warranty. Sadly it has suffered war wounds because of it’s sheer size, one at my hands and 2 in car parks but they’re being sorted by Lexus SMART insurance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I have a 2010 SE-L Premier, with just shy of 100,000 miles. The air-suspension has proved unproblematic in the short time I’ve owned it (12 months, 20,000 miles) and in its history according to the My Lexus app. The comfort, luxurious, speed and sheer convenience make it a handy companion. However, I do find tight car parks a royal pain in the *****. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
