  1. Your seal's not knackered, I get this problem too. It just seems to be a feature of the door frame.
  2. I've had my RX300-SE for a couple of months now and have to say I'm more than happy with it. Plus points far out-weigh the negatives. If I could change anything it would be (all petty and in no particular order): Audible alert when alarm is activated/deactivated would be useful. Climate control could be more flexible, I would like to have the car at a certain temp without having my hands/face frozen by the face level vent. Driver should be able to control all windows even when disable window button is pressed. I'd prefer a handbrake to a foot operated parking brake, more useful for steep hill starts. I'd also like a visual indication of current gear when in drive, I'm still not totally used to an automatic and often kick down too aggressively and end up with the engine screaming like a banshee. Rearview mirror included in the wing mirror and seat memory. Oh, and It would have been nice to get ICE and Sat Nav thrown in for free :P So what's on your wishlist?
  3. I have a new RX300-SE and petrol pumps only cuts out if I insert the nozzle all the way. Try inserting the nozzle ~4/5 of the way, that works fine for me.
  4. I was in a similar situation. I was on the waiting list for an X3 (the wife's choice) but changed my mind after reading several bad previews of the X3. We took delivery of the RX300 a couple of weeks ago and can say it was definitely the right decision in that I extremely happy with the spec, finish and overall quality of the RX. This was been reinforced yesterday when I had the opportunity to compare both cars directly as they were opposite each other at the Canary Wharfe Car Expo. The X3 isn't a bad looking car but once I sat in it the lack of quality compared to the Lexus was obvious.
  5. I'm off to France (don't mention the football) in 2 days in my new RX300SE, can't wait to finally get to have a long drive in it. I've purchased a set of generic beam deflectors from Halfords which say they are compatible with the RX from 2000 onwards, does anyone know if Lexus changed the lamps in the new model? Also, does anyone know whether I need to carry spare bulbs in France? Cheers
  6. I have a 1 week old RX300SE: Aleutian Grey + Black interior...It was the wife's choice (I'd have gone for the silver) but I have to admit it looks good.
  7. I cancelled my order for an X3 after reading several negative reports; my Rx300 SE is due in 6 days B) I must say I'm pretty pleased with the decision having seed an X3 today but the wife's disappointed as she likes the X3. What I'm looking for is confirmation I've made the right decision, so what do you think. RX300-SE or BMW X3 2.5?
  8. There's one in Windsor on 11th June, got my invite today.
  9. I take delivery of my RX300-SE soon and was looking at the pre-paid service plan to avoid nasty shocks at service time (I'm still reeling from a 36k service from Vauxhall that cost £1100!). Has anyone bought the service plan from Lexus and if so is it worth it?
  10. My RX300-SE is due for delivery in 4 weeks. The alloy corrosion sounds a bit worrying, do Lexus replace these under warranty?
