  1. Is this easily accessible ? If it's the cabin ambient sensor ? Any advise would be appreciated Thx Paul Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
  2. I tried it with the roof down Herbie. Cold all the way upto 30. Once it turns to hi, it cooks you. It is climate control and I've tried turning it off auto too. No difference Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
  3. 30c it blows cold. Hi it blows hot Paul Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
  4. Hi everyone. Discovered an issue today with the heater. Put it to hi and it blows very hot. Set heater for 29 and it's blowing nigh on cold. In short it's either bloody hot or cold with no temp variation between hot and cold. Radiator is full of water before anyone suggests that. Any ideas please. Thanks Paul Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
  5. As johnatg says. Not an easy swap. However I think the satnavs pretty good once you have learnt to use it.. it's certainly different in it's operation. But it is very fast. I would update it to latest mapping if I could get it done at a reasonable cost from a reputable source. My Passat has VW satnav inbuilt and the times I've taken the wrong exit off a roundabout because the satnav is slow and shown the wrong exit are numerous. The VW nav system is in a car 6 years newer than the Lexus but the Lexus wipes the floor with it. The Lexus nav is just a bit counter intuitive in how its menus etc work or I'm still using it wrong lol. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. 239 spondoolies... How much was the switch and how much was the labour out of interest ? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. You should try it at 2-3am when the night sky is clear and full of stars. Epic. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. Just make sure it's got the windscreen wiper heater element section at the bottom and it's correct colour tint Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  9. I've tried different speeds myself. To be honest I found very little difference between 60-80. 56 does make a noticeable difference but for someone who sits at that speed for most of his night shift (12 car transporter driver hgv) it's hard to sit at that speed in the Lexus and not feel like your having your teeth pulled. 10. So where does that piece of plastic normally reside ? Does the roof rattle now ? Cheers Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  11. Mines a 2010 too. Please keep us updated M8. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. Let us know how you get on revphilip please m8. I'd be interested in what the fault is. What year is your car ? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  13. Rain sports don't do big mileages and are not available in 255x40x18 Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  14. First things I'd look at are tire pressures and have a short drive and don't use the brakes. Stop and feel CAREFULLY to see if a disk is stinking hot from a binding brake caliper. My wife manages about 28 on her 8 mile city commute. That drops down to 24 in winter. I can achieve 44-46 on my 28 mile motorway commute. Thats down to maybe 30 in the middle of winter at 3am. (Work nights). Are you hoofing it or keeping revs at about 2-2.5k and letting the auto do the work? Have you reset fuel average on computer ? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. That's why I'm asking M8. I don't want run flats under any circumstances bar 1 particular option. The factory fit conti sport contact 2 on my alltrack have a gel insert. Not a true run flat. If you get a puncture the gel insert seals the tire. I can say it does work too. The contis have done over 35k but the alltrack is 4wd/AWD. Obviously being conti and offering a gel puncture resistance they are hellish expensive. Also as they have worn they have got very very rumbly, to the point I've had the car checked twice for wheel bearings and drive shaft uj's. And boy are those tires heavy. I don't know if the newer sport contact 5 is available with that gel insert. At conti prices, I've not bothered to look. I doing wish the other tire manufacturers would offer similar tho. 16. Yes I'd seen that myself kellogsj. My concern with the 245 is actually insurance. It's not the correct size for the car and I'd sooner not run that risk. I have had enough fights with insurance over fitting the official VW winter tire/alloy package to my Passat alltrack 4wd. Insurance tries to claim it's a modification. But it's the official product from the manufacturer for winter use.. It gets even more interesting when you ask for a discount [emoji38] as you've made the car safer by not driving on summer tires in winter lol.... What prices have you found the 255x40x18 for ? Is that a normal tire or run flat ? Cheers Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. Fronts were £81 each fitted at a local independent. I did phone round. Halfrauds autocentre, national, kwikfit were all around 87-90 Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. Kellogsj Only early days and first 300 mile on the sportmax rt2. The steering and lack of tramlining is brill. Really feels like a different car. They are extremely quiet. All I can hear at 70mph is the accelera brand ditchfinders on the rear of the 250c now. But when the Mrs who uses the car the most comments that it feels better and more planted and doesn't follow lines in the road, that's a real recommend. I swear my better half wouldn't realise if she was driving on a flat tire... Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  19. Just an update to the thread. I've been keeping a close eye on the front Michelin's as they are getting close to the wear indicators... Been out today for the weekly check to find some really bad cracking is occurring all round the tires on both fronts !!! This has occurred within a week !!! So it's in for a pair of Dunlop sport max rt2 later today.. A fair price, a very quiet tire at 69db and an A rating for wet and a C rating for fuel. I would have fitted rears at the same time as the accelera ditchfinders whilst relatively new on the rear are horrible but in the next month I've 4 tires to fit on the alltrack Passat before it goes on its summer camping jaunt to the south of France... I will report back on how they fair on the 250c, as the 250c is heavier than the saloon and how quiet they are. Paul. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  20. It's actually pretty disgusting how much they charge to update car inbuilt satnavs. Not just Lexus.. And car satnavs are plain dumb. From Sheffield I put in postcode for Southampton port in my 407 which had up-to-date mapping. Fastest route just for a laugh. I knew the way id go as I'm a HGV driver.. sat nav... M1,m25, etc etc. The fastest way the nav said was over 112 miles further than going down the M1, across the a43, a34..!!! And let's be honest, none come close to Google maps navigation Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  21. That's me f##ked then cause mines got Michelin's that are about done on the front and a pair of accelera Chinese Ditch finders on the rear... I cannot wait to put 4 matching sportmax rt2 on the 250c!!!! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  22. Lina's. P The issue arises that they are not the factory fit size... It's a real minefield. I remember reading years ago in the news that a women had smashed up her MR2 roadster and because it didn't have the specified Bridgestone potenzas designed for that model the insurance was trying to refuse to pay out. I'd add that in years gone by you used to have to tell the insurance you were fitting winter tires tho these days they don't bother.... Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  23. changing the tire size is a modification. You should notify insurance or risk them not paying out in the event of a crash should the investigator spot the tire size difference. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  24. I suspect it's just not a popular size which is why they are expensive. My old 407 pug on 17 inches was a typical unusual French side thus making the tires more expensive Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  25. Dunlop sportmax rt2 M8. Very quiet. A rated on wet. Evo mag tire of 2018 I will be fitting 4 on the is250c shortly myself. Been looking for weeks. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
