  1. there wont be any deals around for a while, not until a few used ones start to appear which wont be for a while as i was told told that there only bringing in something like 400 cars a year. lexus cant compete with the likes of bmw and audi with the cabriolet priced as it is.
  2. i went from a is 200 to a 220d i got rid because i bought with my heart and not my head, i love the lookm of the lxus and maybe if i had bought the petrol is 250 then no doubt i would be still a lexus owner, would i buy another, no way why not try the 250, with the poor mpg on the deisel and most of your miles been on the motorway if i was determined on buying a lexus it would be the 250. although the bmw vw or audi may be a better option
  3. thanks for that, just looked and its not on there website but as yet its not insured as i checked on ask mid, when i ended the pcp i could have bought it from them for around the 12k mark but they said i could sell it and pay back the outstanding balance my local dealer offered me around 9k for it, i was glad to see the back of it to be honest it was my first and possibly last deisel
  4. No But believe it or not it was in the dealer in Newcastle parked next to the car I bought. I remember it because the sales guy asked if I was interested in it and mentioned that it came with the private plate. which dealer was it lexus newcastle? im off to have a look on the net too see what its selling for, it was sent to an auction in leicestershire.
  5. you should have looked at the forum before you bought it, the 220d in my opinion is the lexus that should have never been made, i got rid of my 56 plate a few months ago as it was on a pcp, mine did around the 30mpg mark it had all the injector work done ect it ran out of oil after 8k after every service, had a new seat due to rattles as well as other issues, yours isnt a black 56 plate with around 28k on the clock is it? mine went back with a private plate on K16 XUS but i suppose they could have taken it off to sell on
  6. the pcp worked good for me on my last 220d, i think i put down a 3k deposit and took it over 3 years but got rid early as it was an awfull car, once you reach the point you have paid 50% of the agreement including your deposit you can terminate and send the car back, this is what i did they said that i could have sold the car and paid back what was outstanding but the car was worth less than the 50% owed after 30 months.
  7. surely your paying well over the odds doing it this way, i bet if you work out your initial pcp deposit and repayments up until you re - financed the baloon payment, then your new payments until the end of the new term your paying one hell of alot more if you had just bought the car over 3 years on finance rather than 5/6/7 years the way you have done it?
  8. Besides, what would you like to have on your driveway, the new Skoda Superb, or a nice Lexus IS250SEL? I know which one I would rather have. but the skoda driver must have a warm glow when he thinks how much money he has saved
  9. saw one for the first time today, i was asked to order one as sold on seen by my local dealer last year and am glad i didnt as a that point they had no idea on sale prices, it looks a nice car but when you think about the price and what you could get for that kind of money then you soon change your mind
  10. i saw alan carr at a comedy club just before his career took of on the tv, he is so funny doing stand up
  11. the bridgestones on y old 220d lasted the same as your 18k, then i had new rears at 28k
  12. lucky when i was in the police i went to an acicident where the guy decided to turn his lights off whilst driving down a country lane at night, he wasnt so lucky
  13. i hope your still as keen in a couple of months when you have had time to really drive the car, normally you have a 30 min max test drive then part with a substatial amount of cash, its only when you actually use the car in a normal capacity day to day that you really find out what its like i like many other 220 owners found out the hard way and suffered financially when we couldnt live with it anymore i think lexus made a huge mistake with the 220 as like me i was a loyal lexus owner but the 220 made me look at other brands and i moved to bmw, im sure if i went for the 250 then i would be still driving it today.
  14. ill be the first to say dont do it, i went from the is 200 to the 220d and so regreted it and had to wait 2 years to get out of the pcp i was on, the car is the deisel they should have never made, its got numerous issues such as poor mpg, rattles 5th injector issues and so on, as for price mine was a 56plate with 28k on the clock when it went back which was 4 months ago at that point it was worth 9k to lexus and no doubt went for a lot less at auction im now in a 3 series bmw petrol and loving it if your stuck on the lexus brand then the 250 auto is the one to have
  15. i would say 12/18 months, my brother works in a car supermarket type garage, they have just bought 2 2006 plates for under 8k at auction full lexus history with arond 50k on the clock
  16. i have a mate who works in a ford garage in sales, he told me that prior to christmas he gave a customer book value on a focus of 7k then went on to sell at 8.2k he now cant buy one from a closed auction for 8.2k, the prices on affordable used second hand cars have risen so maybe lexus think that there is a demand for 20k used cars at the moment?
  17. im glad i dint pre order one, my dealer wanted me to pre order last year even though he had no idea on cost, he said it would be sold on sight so i could reject the car if i didnt like it or the price. give it six months and you will pick one up for 25k
  18. i wasnt to bothered which engine i went for really, i did test drive the 3 litre one but the car had alot of miles on it and i couldnt find one in as good as condition as the one i bought. it will only get used at the weekends for cruising around in so the power wasnt really a consideration
  19. picked it up a week ago and managed to get the roof down last weekend, and burnt the top of my head
