  1. Just replaced batteries in both key fobs but alarm still going and engine won’t start. Time for the AA to tow this to the Lexus garage I think.
  2. Battery connected correctly and dashboard lights up as expected (I can agree to Navigation etc.) but engine will not start and (deafening) alarm stays on. I’ll check the key fob but struggling here!
  3. Replaced battery this morning but car alarm goes crazy (car horn and siren) when battery terminals connected. Car now seems to have power but won’t start. I assume the car is immobilised? Is there a way to reset this and give my ears a rest?
  4. Thanks all for your help. The battery is the original from 2009 so I've got a Bosch S4 068 reserved from Euro Car Parts. I'll try and charge the battery again now and, if it fails, I'll get a new battery in the morning. I really appreciate the speedy responses!
  5. Hi all, My father-in-law passed away on Friday night and his '09 IS250, not driven for 3-4 months, is currently immovable in the garage. I've tried to get some charge in the battery by using a Halfords charger and a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger but am having no luck. The latter simply doesn't start to charge at all and the Halfords charger sets off the alarm (car horn) and all the instruments on the dashboard constantly flicker on and off (a clicking sound can also be heard). From doing a brief search on the internet, it appears that the symptoms listed above are synonymous with a failed alternator but the car, when last used, was working fine. Can anyone help diagnose or test what is wrong? Thanks, B
