  1. Hello. Charlie Alder here. Long time Lexus owner but have not posted for a while. I have a UX250H on a 70 plate. Thinking of getting a Ghost 2 installed and was wondering what experience you kind folks have had with this.
  2. Had Lexus Cambridge contact me this week. They asked if I was interested in changing my MY70 UX for the upgraded model due out about August. The upgrade would have a touch sceen and the touch pad replaced with seat heater switches. Also cd player gone.
  3. Not sure this fully applies in this case as I have a UX.(14 years Lexus owner though) Manual shows how car can be changed from a non hybrid car IS300h would be the same I guess?
  4. I had the Nextbase camera fitted when I purchased my UX. Basically the experience I had with the camera at time of purchase and afterwards make Lexus look like a bunch of idiots. As an example rear carera fell off while I was in the showroom collecting the car, fell off again on way home. Lexus sent out their top bod to fix it only for it to fall off again. Finally fixed the rear camera to the glass my self using new 3M pads and thoroughly cleaning the glass with white spirit etc. Had been ok for 11 months but sadly rear camera failed within the guarantee period which was replaced by Lexus. My advise- go to a reputable independent specialist who knows what they are doing.
  5. Hello all. I went from a CT to UX and find the size of the UX much better than the CT and adequate for me, a retired 70 year old with no kids to ferry about. Having said I would say that to go from an RX to a UX is a jump too far. As suggested try the NX as you will find the UX too small. Test drive anx see.
  6. My MY70 UX is exactly the same. There is just too much plastic trim at the bottom the doors. The use off the rubber seals suggests to me that prototype had qatwr penetration problems. Also likely to be rust traps to the bottom of the doors. Crap design in my view
  7. For what its worth I had my IS200 SE serviced at Lexus Reading for 12 years and found them faultless. Having a service plan helped spread the servicing costs.
  8. Thought you might be interested. Had a UX 300e as a loaner when my MY70 250h was in having the bank1 O2 sensor replaced. Impressed with the 300e rolling noise much quieter with Michelin tyres than the Bridgestones on the 250h. As a matter of interest charge the 300e for two hours via the 13amp lead and this put 20miles on the cars range. Shame the overall range of 196 miles is so low compared to the competition. Also a shame the O2 sensor failed so soon.
  9. The NextBase cameras as fitted by Lexus can be set for parking mode using an auxiliary battery that can be purchased from Nextbase.
  10. The cameras are only held in place by double sided tape. When I purchased my UX the rear DC was loose at the time of pick up. Lexus refixed it but it fell off during the 50mile ride home. Moaned,of course, to Lexus who reluctantly sent out their "expert" to refix it only for it to fall off within an hour or so. Refixed it my self after thoughly cleaning the glass and DC unit and using new 3M pads. Been ok for 14 months although rear camera actually faiked to work after about 5 months and replaced under guarantee. Conclusion? Get dash cam fitted by indy expert not Lexus.
  11. Same hear. I knew about the tax threshold and was the reason I didn't go for the Takumi. UX300E even more money!
  12. Hello Leo 00 and welcome to LOC. I had a MY17 CT200H Premium for 3 years. I found it one of the easiest cars to drive, reliable with consistently good mpg of 50 to 60. Ride was a little hard compared to other cars but I found it ok. The car is low so watch speed bumps and opening doors over the pavement as you are bound to scrap the u/s of the doors. Also, be carefull when parked up and listening to radio say as the auxiliary battery will drain. In these situations leave the car in READY mode. This allows the engine to cut in to charge the battery. Check the Lexus website as they have produced a guide on how to keep the auxiliary battery charged when the car is not used for a while. Feel free to ask for help if you get stuck with understanding what the car can do. I sold my CT because I and my other half found it too low for 70 plus bones. Went for the UX.
