  1. Thanks. Going to have another look at this today. The wire just disappears with the rest of the wires into the dash so not too sure, can’t really see why the power to that would suddenly stop working if it’s the factory head unit. Is there a fuse for the powered aerial? And do you know where it is? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I’ll have a look. Do you know exactly where the amp for the antenna is? Thought it might be an idea to check that. I know its somewhere behind the glovebox isn’t it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Cheers Colin. I’ve done some more investigating and it turns out that the speakers are fine! I’m using one of those aux tap deck converter things at the moment because the FM isn’t working, so I’ve only been playing music through that. For the first time I’ve tried a cd (pulled one out from the back of a cupboard) and all speakers were working fine. So either the tape deck is dodgy or the aux converter isn’t the best (I’m guessing the latter)... I’m not really bothered about either of them. In terms of the fm signal, I’ve tried a few different screw in aerials and they make no difference. I know you meant previously to try a new aerial in the back of the head unit, just struggling to get hold of one atm but it’s next on the list. Below I’ve put a picture in of the back of the head unit. I’ve unplugged the a/c controls just for ease of seeing what’s going on but all of the head unit cables I’ve left as I’ve found them. Does that all look correct to you? I unplugged the little white connector to the very right of the screen which connects to the aerial, and it made no difference to the signal. Is that for the power feed that you mentioned? If so it looks like that isn’t working and then I can figure it out from there. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. This is the last current issue I have with my is200 so fingers crossed it won’t be a nightmare. I know this is something that has been covered many times but I’m seeing quite a few different opinions on what to do. A lot of the topics seem to be from about 10 years ago (granted I’m pretty rubbish at knowing how to find what I want on the forum, so apologies if there is an obvious answer to this). I have next to no reception on the FM setting on the radio, I’ve had it out and unplugged the aerial. It goes from very little reception to no reception. Also, my passenger side speaker isn’t currently working at all. Is this likely just to be a blown speaker or is there a common issue that goes on with these? The head unit I have is this one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Had some time of Thursday evening to put it together. Tested it and no knocking [emoji106] Cheers for the help all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Cheers. Gonna go with the eBay specials and see how I get on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Right, got the thing out... lots of wd-40, a chisel, hammer and enthusiasm. I think the bushing thing at the end of the pin had deteriorated and that’s what was making it be so stubborn to get out. Now I need a new pin. You guys any idea where’s best to get them from? Seen a lot on eBay but don’t want to get ones that are a knock off. Seen these ones https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F261625401047 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Cheers Colin [emoji106] very useful diagram. I’ll try and persuade it to come out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So... had a knocking since I bought my is200 a couple of months ago. Lived with it until I had some time this afternoon to have a quick look. Didn’t appear to be any suspension parts. Had a look underneath the car at the back of the brake callipers and one bolt appeared to be completely missing, gave it a wriggle and surely enough the thing was knocking around all over the place. Luckily had a spare so went to put it in and could only get it a little way in. Managed to push the calliper a little out of the way to look into the hole and the bugger had a sheered bolt in it. Spent the next hour trying to drill it out, broke a drill bit and an ‘easy out’ is now broken off and stuck in there. You can imagine it’s not been the best afternoon. Here’s how it’s looking Isn’t that just a pin and should come straight out anyway? I could only twist it with a strong arm. Any ideas with this would be much appreciated! Don’t particularly want to have to buy a new set of callipers to be honest and hoping what’s here is salvageable. Either way, rather alarming that this passed an MOT in Jan with this looking like it’s been that way for quite a while. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Ended up going with the easy option and just cleaning them out and putting them back together. Didn’t cost me anything and look 10x better. Not particularly bothered that they don’t work as it’s not meant to be a car I’m putting money into really! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Cheers Colin Think I might just be blocking them up and putting them back in then. I’ll have a look on eBay to see if there’s anything going cheap but I doubt it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I’ve just bought an is200 and I’ve been doing some bits on it. The front fog lights appeared to be full of gravel so I pulled them out. It looks like these things haven’t been looked at in years! The insides were completely deteriorated and full with mud and dirt. I took the hose pipe to it to clean it out and bits of bulb, metal and glass all came out with the dirt. I’ve been left with essentially the housing: These are the connectors that are inside the bumper: Are these salvageable at all or is it completely pointless to try? I thought about either: - Buying blanking plates (if they exist), getting rid of these and blocking up the bumper - Buying what’s missing and somehow putting these things back together with new (or used) parts - Buying whole used units that work from eBay and just plugging them in but not sure those electric connectors work (conscious that this might be pricey!) - Blocking up the back of these so that no other dirt can get in, and then just put them back in the car without bulbs to fill the gap, but they then obviously won’t be functional I don’t really want to be putting much money into this car as I bought it very cheap as a run around, so cheapest options will probably win, but if there’s a cheap way of getting these working then I’ll be interested. If anyone’s got any guidance on what to do here it would be much appreciated! Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
