  1. Cheers Colin, makes perfect sense and the 18" space save I was quoted for the RC300h is an almost exact running circumference as my current tyres, give or take a 1mm. Thanks for the advice, I'll order the 18" and hope I never have to use it 🙂
  2. I understand the purpose of a space saver for emergencies only, but I'm not sure anyone understood my original question, should it be a 17, 18 or 19" size to clear the calipers. The simplest solution is to go in the middle and plump for a 18". The space between calipers and my 19" rims looks over an inch, so 18" is probably fine, not sure the 17" would clear, if it did it would be very close.
  3. Thanks everyone, one last question, does it matter I have 19" wheels or as I think someone already posted that the ES has a common disc and brake size for the complete range. If I get a spare used for a GS450h or an IS or RC should I be buying the 17, 18 or 19" wheel.
  4. Every supplier of space saver wheels in the UK I've contacted have said there is nothing currently available for the ES300h, which I'm finding very hard to accept.
  5. My ES300h F Sport is fitted with 19" wheels ... Is there a specific space save size and spec I should be looking for? 19" space savers are hard to find, I'm assuming an 18" would fit and clear the brakes, but it's a pricey gamble. One of the the UK supplier said this was suitable 135/80R18 UNIROYAL TYRE, as used in the RC300h. Any help or links much appreciated.
  6. I was offered a similar deal last month by my local dealer to entice me out of my 2019 IS300h F Sport with Takumi pack with only 12k on the clock. I was sceptical at first but the deal kept getting better and better. When I checked the value of my IS against the payments I make each month it was devaluating faster than I could pay it off. The move to a new ES300h F Sport with Takumi pack for no extra deposit, lower payments than I was currently paying, and dash cams, Supagard, boot liner, reduced service plan etc, etc. Too good to say no. I was planning to purchase the IS next year, but having had the ES for 48 hours, it was an easy decision to let it go. Having had the ES for a few days, it is a completely different drive to IS and I'm very happy with it.
  7. I'm on a 3 year PCP, it was my understanding I ha e to have a Lexus dealer service my car as part of the contract. Maybe they saw me coming, but when I asked about the cost of the first 3 years servicing the Sevice contract was the better deal. It's not for everyone, it worked for me. I only thought this was better value for money than an overpriced clean and polish.
  8. I've purchased several cars and brought the paint protection. Some are good and some aren't worth the money at all. If it's applied well, it definitely helps protect your paint work longer, but personally I wouldn't pay the dealer prices for this. I asked for a polish on collection and the dealer was good to their word and applied an autoglym polish for free. Still looking good three months on. Alloy wheels protection is good if you park in towns and are prone to kerbing, but read the small print, some large scuffs and scratches aren't covered.
  9. I brought my Is300h f sport Takumi new in May and was also offered nearly £2000 worth of so called extras,.... Paint protection, GAP, Alloy wheel protection, Smart Protection etc. I ended up taking none of the above, and plumped for GAP off the Internet for £150 I did take the service plan for £38 per month and that gave me 3 years servicing, worry free. Another great saving was a boot mat from ebay that fits perfect and again a fraction of the cost of the Lexus one offered.
  10. Thanks for the info, I checked and my Htc10 is fully compatible. I don't have issues with the phone connecting and I can use it for calls and music, it just the SMS messaging which won't work. On day one when I brought the car it tried to download my messages and started and they flicked onto the screen before disapearing and then giving the message "message can't be downloaded". It's almost like the memory was filled and now it can't be cleared. I've not mentioned it to the dealer, it isn't a big deal and I'm enjoying the car for the good car it is. Only just found the Sport+ mode and loving it. Thanks again.
  11. Hi all, I have a new Is300h F sport and it's a lovely car... but the infotainment is pretty poor compared to my previous Mercedes. However, what is the latest version of software available and how do I get it if needed? My phone will connect but not download messages and was hoping it might be a software thing. Cheers.
