  1. Hi Roy. That's my fault for not being clear. I'm actively looking to buy an SC430 - I don't have one as yet. I drive a 2008 MX5. I've seen prices range from £3k to £5k for 02/03 models and would be looking to buy one as standard as possible, with as much provenance as possible. They appear to be a bit of a hidden science, hence my pre-purchase research, and my shock at the problems experienced by the OP. I don't expect a niggle free car, but nor do I expect all of the problems highlighted, all at once!
  2. Hi all. I'm new to the site, and the first post I've come across talks of all of these faults on an SC430 (although they are being slowly, but surely rectified). Given my attraction to the legendary Lexus build quality and reliability, I'm a little dismayed. Indeed, I'm worried that these may be common problems and the car will end up costing me an arm and a leg, especially becuase, unlike the OP, I'm not comfortable working on the car. I currently drive a 2008 MX5, and am not disappointed with the attributes that attract people to them. Niggles I can deal with - reading through the OP's list of problems doesn't fill me with confidence about any future purchase. I would welcome some reassurance that these problems are exceptions, rather than the norm? Happy to listen to all and any advice offered, to keep my hopes of purchasing one alive.....
  3. Hi all. New to the site. Hoping to read up on, and then purchase, a nice SC430. I'll then see if there are any cheap, but effective mods for the car and engine. Then see how best to make the most of one of the best and underrated V8's in Christendom Ian
  4. Welcome to Europe's Leading Lexus Club! Please Enjoy!
