  4. I've had the lip spoiler refitted to the boot of my GS and on removing the mastic tape the residue / adhesive has stuck to the paintwork. How can I remove without damaging the paint.
  5. Im using the manual lock at the moment but my kid keeps unlocking the doors from the passenger side switch. Will have to use restraints to stop him from exercising his arms whilst driving. Thanks
  6. Does the GS central locking have an option to lock all doors when the car is moving and unlock when ignition is switched off, similair to a anti car jacking on some security systems.
  7. Looking at adding this bit of kit to smooth out the electrics. Had several electrical/ electronic items added to my pride and joy over the last year, TV's / PS2 / remote engine start / LPG. Checked on the good old interweb but not found anything specific for the GS. Can anyone advise of how and where to purchase the kit.
  8. Hi All Converted my GS last year, no probs to date.Had a second tank put in a few months later, for convenience. Get 400miles to 100ltr@ 32.9p Only thing that was added was a liquid called valve saver, this lubricates the plastic valve seating to minimise the wear and tear during lpg useage. Cost me 1600.00 all in plus 350 for the second tank. Best thing I have done to the GS, fuel costs dropped dramatically. Awais
  9. Howdy All Had my alloys refurbed last year but looking a bit grim again. Thinking of getting them polished / chromed / galvanised and then clear lacquer to keep the shine from dulling and the wheels from pitting. Does the galvanising give it a chrome/ shiny finish and can the wheels be dipped. What do you think?????????????
  10. Hello all I've done the grille on my mk2 gs, its come out a treat just used a cotton swab some paint thinner and a stanley blade. Did a few slats at a time
  11. hello people i had the same problem on my gs300, the cd was not being read nd the same error message was showing, Colin had a look at it and all was fien. I spoke to lexus Stockport, who confidently advised that its the CD, they got a new cd in, put it into the reader, it updated the programming and hey presto all was and still is working.
  12. Hi there Just had a set of 7inch screens fitted to the heardrests, new slimline PS2, three IR headphones. I used a place in Moston Manchester, very good fit. Would recommend to LOC memebrs in the NW.
  13. I know what you mean, a universal centre plate with a 18' rubber mat that you cut down to size the wheel, i sold these some years ago and had to discontinue the sales soon after! "why" most modern cars vent the brakes through the front valance and the "wheel", once the mat was fitted the customer suffered brake fade due to the pads over heating, look at the wheel pattern and you can see in most cases the spokes are angled the reason is to capture air and cool the brakes , please be careful... unless things have changed? ← The front are fitted with black diamond vented and grooved discs witht eh predator pads, i do on average 600 miles mix of motorway and local so the bakes are used a fair bit. Based on the advise will leave the brakes as is and just clean them more often.
  14. Just been checking a few web sites and found one that does the brake dust shields for GS300. They custonmise th shield to each type of alloy wheel, just send them a picture of the wheel and they sort the rest out. The cost is £39.00 a pair or £59.00 for a full set. Any chance of sorting out a group buy.
  15. I did mine a few weeks ago, used some paint stripper, cloth and a stanley blade. Dab the stripper onto a few of the slats and leave for a minute or two, then just scrape off the top/ front edge only. MAKE SURE YOU PUT A SHEET ONTO THE CAR TO SAFEGUARD THE PIANT. WILL TRY TO POST SOME PICS.
