  1. So we gave it a go but it wasn't as simple as the US ones in the YouTube videos. At the point they can pull the fusebox out, my car still had a wiring loom in either side preventing it from being lifted. I passed it over to my garage instead and they got their auto-electrician to do. That plus a new battery and a few regular fuses and I'm back in business.
  2. Not sure. I got it from magengines.com. I ordered it on Tuesday evening UK time and it just arrived this morning! Yeah, the battery is out and charged in preparation and I found a guide on YouTube: I'm hoping it fixes the audio/HVAC system too otherwise I'll be upside down on the front seats looking for blown fuses under the dash.
  3. Well I've ordered a new fusible link from a company based in the UAE and it's due today so I'll have a go at the weekend.
  4. It's right in front of the battery, on the nearside. I didn't know the right model code but the part number is similar for both.
  5. I think this is the one. There's a few on eBay but the cheap ones look like the car was in a head-on accident.
  6. Yeah, option 1 was the preference but I'm waiting on Lexus Parts Direct to find out if it's possible to buy it separately. I think it's no. 15 in that diagram. How did you get the image to show? I've never heard of that website before but I traced through and got to the same page but I see no diagram and no links, just part numbers and prices.
  7. My battery was too weak to start my 2007 GS 300 so I got it jump-started via a spare battery. Unfortunately the father-in-law transposed the jumper leads on one side and it melted the bridge seen in the photo (the thin, rectangular fusebox closest to the cabin - as seen from the cabin side in the photo - this upper section should have a transparent cover on it). I guess I have three options: Replace the rail component. Replace the entire fusebox. Solder a bridge back in place. I'm not sure if option 1 is possible but to do option 3 I would need to know the gauge required to rebuild the bridge. Would anyone have a clue?
  8. This car is just gonna get scrapped at some point. It seems to be building more and more uneconomical jobs like the failing cat too. Thanks for the help. Guess I'll have to pull off the covers and have a look-see.
  9. A couple of times when I've driven behind my parents they noticed one of my headlights was out. I can turn off the switch and back on and it usually works again. I've not spotted it when looking at reflection myself though. Anyone had this? I would get it on the aftermarket LED sidelights on my old car (maybe they overheated or something) but never the OEM xenons. More generally, does the mk3 have bulb-out warning?
  10. I get the check system warning every now and again. TechStream sees no readings so the batteries are dead or dying. I don't really want to spend money on a system I don't need - just wish it could be disabled. I also get the check VCS warning with fault codes. I'm told it's the cat on its way out but it's a pain because I have to keep clearing the code but it's uneconomical to replace a cat in a car like this 2007 GS 300.
  11. I bought this one. It's Bluetooth 4.0 which has a low power draw so can be left plugged in. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07LDDWTJG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_vFrVFbDFYRPFV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  12. If you have a modern Chromebook you can install any Play app, like Torque for example. They can't do everything (no TPMS access for example) but they can read and clear regular fault codes.
  13. I've been getting the P0430 code up recently on my 2007 GS 300, which my garage says is an exhaust leak code. After inspection there is no leak so they think the cat is on its way out and have advised to ignore it in the short-/medium-term (due to the cost of replacement against the value of the car) and clear the code when it comes up. That's fine but what about at resale point? There are plenty of GS 300s around and an intermittent engine check light will put people off. I was wondering if there are any tricks that can fool the ECU.
  14. I got a 2007 for 4k a few months back. Had to spend out a few hundred since, mind.
  15. I got a 2007 GS 300 a few months ago and have just noticed puddles of water inside each rear quarter panel area (just underneath the amp!). I stripped the trim and dried the area out (there was a little in the spare wheel well too). I was just going to buy a new boot seal but wondered if anyone else had experienced this issue in case that's not the cause.
