  1. Lexus GS250 I set off on a roundabout in the wet with a sharp turn. Something I guess the traction control made a noise on back NS. Now the light won’t go out or re set ? Any ideas I still have Lexus warranty but have to pay diagnostics, nothing comes up on my code reader either. I checked tyre pressures rear was about 2 lbs below other 3
  2. Not sure as didn't want it overfueling and dumping fuel into the bores and oil. But at least 3-4 minutes so turned it off. When it starts hot it blips up to 1400 then straight back to normal.
  3. The fuelling point is at Sainsburys, but I have never seen anyone there?
  4. My GS 2012 seems to rev to 1400 RPM when it starts from cold and in neutral? If I put in gear seems to rev normally. I guess the gear box reduces it? I normally start then drive off but this morning let it idle whilst I put stuff in the boot the stink of petrol was really bad. Lexus Edgware says its ok. I have Lexus warranty on it? Is this normal? Chris
  5. Everything mechanical we have ever bought made in china appeared to be made of low grade plasticine. I have a friend that repairs scooters and he won't buy Chinese parts but likes those made in Thailand as says they are very good.
  6. I bought some Hako ones for my 2012 GS. took them off after the first trip out the wind noise was just too high. Also they snapped a little on the ends that go into the window channel but still fit. if anyone wants them free I am in North London, haven't taken the sticky tape off so will fit again
  7. Get a similar noise on my GS 250 on full lock sounds like a slight dragging noise. However, had it on other cars with quite large tyres so haven't worried about it.
  8. Wonder if Lexus would help with the repair under good will? Worth asking Honda changed us an ABS unit at 147ish K on an accord just charged us for a brake fluid change. We had a similar issue with Mercedes and they were not interested so mixed bag.
  9. The insurers love 50/50 as you both loose your no claims and or have a fault accident on your insurance record. ive used Adrian Flux for a lot of years but sounds like their claims help is not too good?
  10. Yes I would agree the last set of disks and pads I changed on my sons car were Brembo and very very good.
  11. Are you sure it's not the suspension compressing and the wheel arch giving the impression of forward or real movement? 50 mm of movement between forward and reverse would be a big movement and should be something relatively obvious as to the cause?
  12. A lot of hard work, but looks like the fun she'd article looks good. There is some bad garage welding out there so you should be proud of what you have achieved.
  13. Better it has some protection prior to anyone looking at it though, but your logic is hard to disagree with 🙂
  14. You have the right to get a car repaired by a different garage and then claim back via the small claim court for any defects at point of sale or within a reasonable period
  15. If they MOTD it I might be tempted to contact VOSA lots of dealers have very lenient friends in the MOT trade so sticking callipers etc can be missed. I do know the dealer you are talking about as my mum lives near by. My opinion was when we looked there that I didn’t think the cars were well prepared but only my opinion.
  16. I think Euro car parts have got better partic the quality on consumables and brake parts etc
  17. Sometimes better to get stuff done. Plus unless you have a decent size workshop/garage not the best time of year to complete large complicated jobs. Good you have changed the water pump whilst doing the belt and have the proper seals. Ive done a couple of bits on ours but nothing too big as can’t get a car in my garage at the moment and it’s chilly.
  18. I've just bought mine quiet interesting to see where they went, mostly go France in my case
