  1. Got a chance to remove and clean the maf sensors yesterday, what a very marked difference in overall performance. Engine light still on but i think that needs cancelled with a code reader (ordered one). Thanks again all.
  2. Took her for a long run yesterday, for most of it (for the first time) used the manual select/shift which allowed me to use more of the rev range and now the engine appears a lot less lumpy. In auto the normal rev range on Shetland roads is 1000 - 2500, I think because of the extra upper lub added to fuel this helped clog a censor, injector or plug. No dual carriage ways or motorways on the island. Thanks again all.
  3. Thank you very much for your help, it means a lot to an LS owner in the middle of the north sea....lol. Cheers mate.
  4. Friend arrived this evening and started the car, awful smell of petrol while the car warmed up, still with warning symbols on dash. Ran the code scanner and came up with.... The car spluttered and held back as i took her around the block but with no warning symbols on the dash, as she warmed up she started to run cleanly and the charge indicator for the hybrid battery rose to full charge. I think my over generous application of upper cylinder lube could be the cause of this problem, unless the error codes indicate anything other. help Herbs.
  5. I couldn't be that lucky. This happened to me from cold start first thing in the morning.
  6. A friend is going to call around tomorrow with his autel code reader and see if he can call up any fault codes. No Lexus dealers in Shetland so fingers crossed, serviced by Lexus and hybrid battery checked last October prior to me purchasing her in November. Just had her detailed, beautiful car when she moves.
  7. Thanks for all the replies, further developments this morning... Drove the car 100 yards this morning but had to limp home home on electric motor. Restarted the car and took these photos, guess its a bit more than a duff 12 volt battery.
  8. I have a 2009 SL600hl, over the last couple of weeks the engine light has come on for a few days and then stayed off for a few days only to come on again and repeat....... What do owners think is the most likely problem developing? Could the addition of ( a bit to much ) upper cylinder lubricant in the fuel tank lead to this? Thanks in advance
  9. Thanks for the replies. If it needs to be adjusted by the dealer we have a very good Toyota dealer in Shetland, i will ask them.
  10. Hi all, just taken on a 2009 LS600hl and, at this point, have two questions a) Can i change the tyre pressure display for the five wheels from "Bar" to "PSI". b) Can i remove the "Passenger set for Adult seat belt" on the central display between the temperature settings as it's on all the time.. Great car
  11. As the damage is so near the seam I think total replacement is the the best option. If I had seen this on a forecourt I'd have walked on by and bought a Merc or Beemer, but having arrived in Shetland I've fallen in love with her, the 450h is such a relaxing car to drive.
  12. I have been looking for a secondhand seat but no joy, i just wondered if this supplier had been used by any members.
  13. I have been looking for a replacement drivers seat squab since purchasing my 2007 450h unseen earlier this year. Have any members dealt with a US company called "US auto seat cover" Fits 2006 to 2011 Lexus GS350 Driver Bottom Leather Perforated Seat Cover GRAY | eBay
  14. Thanks guys for your advise and after much online research I've plumed for giving this a shot just on the rear screen. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254215930134
  15. No rear screen wiper on the 450h, what is the best application to promote water runoff.
  16. GS 450h, what a crackin car with one wee niggle the driver seat has a couple of slits in the perforated leather, one in the back support and another in the base cushion. This is buggin the hell out of me, as it's perforated leather it will only get worse with time. Have any members used https://www.theseatsurgeons.co.uk/ ? They can do a standard leather refit for for just over £1k. Lexus Direct however quoted ... "Hi Colin The covers are available separately too, the backrest cover is £1956.08 and the base is £1536.16 including VAT. These are both available for five working day delivery which will be £5.99 to UK Mainland. Parts Supervisor Lexus Parts Direct" What is the tried and tested answer to split leather seats? Thanks Colin
  17. Hi guys, just purchased this GS 450h 2007 and having it shipped from Aberdeen to Shetland. I notice the rear nearside reversing sensor appears to have lost its colour cap, is it of any importance? Not received the car yet this is one of the drop off pictures from the transporter.
