  1. Your more than welcome to come with me mate :D And i will let you have a drive of the Audi, around the ring B) Thanks Gord - thing is with you, you might have changed cars by then; your roaving eye is well known! lol If I do go (and take a car), I'd probably take the S2000 - and get shown up by Steve in his Boxster with his super human driving skills. But it all about having fun really :D
  2. To be 100% honest with you if you wanted one as a fun 2nd car for weekends and the summer I wouldn't really bother getting a 2004+ model like mine where they softened the car slightly and made it a bit easier to live with. If I were to do it again, I'd save a shed load of money and buy and early 1999 - 2001 model - to drive they are just as good and you haven't got as much money tied up in a car and your not as paroniod about scratches and chips. I have seen early S2000s for around £6k - 7K mark but I'd say you need around £8K for a nice example with reasonable mileage. Once you go past 2004+ the revised models go for quite alot more. Alternatively keep an eye out if you have any contacts with a garage and see if you get a damaged one cheaper to repair - with them being RWD and apparently twitchy in the wet they do get crashed quite alot. I've seen loads on ebay that you can tell have spun - but is a risky strategy.
  3. I am interested but might have some stuff going on after the 18th July but I shall see. :)
  4. Oh and nearly forgot - I discovered the best thing about the car today - it has two cup holders!! Thats a big thing for me - the BMW doesn't even have one :(
  5. Yeah would be good to sort a meet out - I'd love to check out your Skyline too! A mate of mine had a R33 GTS-T in Maroon a few years back and it did look the business - until he spun it You won't believe this, but I have just spent the past few hours cleaning and waxing it using some of the Klasse glaze and sealent that Matt McNally organised a group buy of a few years back. Show how often I normally clean my cars - that must be 3 - 4 years old and is virtually full! :o Considering how small the car is I have managed to do the front end and one door! Will try to finish it off tomorrow - I'm just abit slow at this stuff.
  6. I never park the S2000 anywhere with the roof down - not even the driveway unless I am outside! :o Can't be too careful!
  7. My question to you Neil is - can you afford to loose so much hair with a hair cut?? :P Look forward to seeing you soon mate. Anees
  8. Talking about that - A friend of mine told me that driving a convertible is bad for your hair! :o Apparently, with the wind rushing through your hair it pushes your hair back so your hair-line receeds more and more and you eventually end up bald! He got me worried AND then said that since he is loosing his hair anyway, he will do me a "favour" and buy the car for the sake of my hair.
  9. Yeah yeah, any excuse German car lover :P ..... (just kidding mate, my maincar is German. lol) The S2000 still has the record for the highest power output from any normally aspirated 2.0L engine ever built! A crazy 120bhp per litre - that record has stood since 1999. Now thinking about it logically, most manufacturers are moving towards fitting small turbos so its probably not worth anyones while to try and get more power from a normally aspirated engine when you can just stick some form of Forced Induction on it but still an impressive fact.
  10. Thanks mate. You did look like you were enjoying driving it! :D Its just one of those cars that if you drive it normally its ok but nothing special- but when you grab it by the scruff of its neck and drive it like you stole it, it does come alive.
  11. Since you have to rev the car it does feel like your thrashing it- but then thats part of the fun At meets, I think we need to have three parking areas - Lexus, Jap cars and German cars :D
  12. Mr Wozza - I'll do you a deal. If you can fit into the drivers seat confortably and turn the steering wheel without catching your arms on the sides I might pay for you to get a Wax, Sack & Crack done :P :P
  13. Thanks for the comments guys! :) S Badges - yeah I know they are not to every ones taste but are pretty popular in the US and I like it when people try to work out what car it is! I might take them off and stick some Red Honda racing badges on however at some point. For the moment I like them however :) The standard car is 240bhp and pretty light. Power mods are hard to do really unless you go for Forced Induction which is serious money so I might consider an induction kit for more of a VTEC scream but its hard to find one for reasonable money that doesn't actually lower power so modifiying the stock airbox might be an option. The other thing I'd like to get is a snorkel whch directs more air to the airfilter and stops the car "kangarooing" in traffic. I might play with the handling since there is loads can be to done but power wise I don't envisage doing that much. To be honest I don't think a convertabile necessary has to have crazy power -just "enough" which I feel it does. I was half expecting to have the worset summer on record because I have bought a convertible but fingers crossed it stays like this! :D
  14. Problem is 2nd gear VTEC for only a few seconds and you are over 70mph already! :o I do like the engine start button too :)
  15. Hi guys, I thought I would share some pictures of my latest purchase. I got it a few months ago as a project/toy for the Summer. To be honest at first I wasn't overly impressed but once you "GET" how to drive the S2000 it does get under your skin and the sound of the VTEC scream is addictive. You really have got to drive the car like you hate it to get the best out of it - it revs to 9K RPM before the redline. Its not as slow low down as I was expecting and the handling is superb - not found it twitchy at all yet and it really looks superb. Now knowing me, you wouldn't expect me to leave the car standard would you? In addition to the standard Honda S2000 GT Features the car has had the following items added since car was purchased: Honda Front Lip Carbon Fibre Rear Spoiler Honda Side Stakes Standard 17" Alloys Powercoated and painted in Black - look stunning in the flesh Parking sensors (hidden behind the bumper so as to not spoil the cars looks) K'N Air Filter LED Bulbs and lights all round Painted Brake Calipers LED Rear 3rd Brake light Rick's S Badges Brand New 17" Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric Tyres (Just about the best tyres you can get at the moment!!) Genuine Honda Black Chrome S2000 Badges (matches the wheels) Its a much more fun to drive car for me then the Aristo was - obviously a totally different car and not in the same league performance wise (well in a straight line) but just a proper sports car. With the weather we have been having recently I have been taking it to work and its a nice experience having a convertible in the sun. I love hitting the Pennines in it and going for a blast when conditions allow. I had some fun last weekend when I had a visitor from London with an Aristo; obviously his car was quicker in the straights but on some twisty roads he admitted I was leaving him for dead! :D Its the kind of car that just makes you want to go for a drive; which is the feeling that was missing from the Aristo. Not being a turbo you don't get the shove I am used to with my diesel but once the car is wound up it really can shift!! The S2000 just revs and revs and revs and you don't realise the speed until you look at the digital speedo! And for the information of Chris (Aztec), Wozza, Gord, Geoff, Neil, Mitul (Skeet94) and Imran (Vazoosh) - NO I can not offer advice on hair clippers and I do not offer hair dressing services. :P
  16. Totally agree and again no offense intended to those that have them on any non-Audi car.
  17. Dear Super Moderator, Since you no longer have a Lexus: :P Seriously however, you've made a good choice and I'd call it more of a Grey side (since its still Jap) then dark side (i.e German car)
  18. Look identical to the ones I bought from Prolex for my Aristo. The only issue you might have is a bulb warning light on the dash if they don't have built-in resisters like the Prolex ones.; this does not affect there functionality in any way however. A good purchase hopefully :) Anees
  19. So what do you do for a living then? :D From my thread when I was selling my Aristo I'm sure Fargo is a hitman. As soon as he found out I had someone interested in my car they seems to disappear off the face of the earth - coincidence??? :whistling: and he can Skydive (aka Bond style)...... B) PS Er........ I work for myself and play with computers!
  20. That really does look fantastic! Well Done :D
  21. I went to the wheel specialist in Manchester and the person said they could be fixed but in my case the cost was over £400+ for a set of wheels so decided I was better off just getting some new wheels. I sold the old ones and put the money towards a new set. But if you only have one wheel to do then your probably looking at £100 - The wheel Specialist in Scotland seems to have a good reputation on this forum. The helpful person from The Wheel Specialist in Manchester did menton however that their lacquer will make the wheels looks very slightly darker but you would really have to concentrate to notice it if you only had one wheel done. As a cheaper option what you could do, is find an engineering place that does polishing. If you give them the alloy they should be able to grind and polish the lip back. I have a place in Oldham (Hollinwood Engineering) that can do this but since I was also abit bored of the wheels I just decided to go for new. The other issue is if you only have one alloy done then the lip is going to look different from the others which makes it look odd. Hope that helps, Anees
  22. I've been to the Manchester branch and again they were really friendly and helpful :) PS I had the wheels in my avatar done gloss black at my mates place - look fantastic and good choice I think.
  23. Generally speaking a larger engine is less stressed so smoother and you have plenty in reserve when you need to overtake. I love the feeling of reserve power and the wave of torque with a larger engine. You can also accelerate up to the speed limit quicker which is handy. I also like having power to push you out of corners. If it was my own car I'd never want to get a low powered engine again!! :)
  24. Mate, Considering the poor state of the ££ pound at the moment, is it still worth while to send it over to the US to have this work done?
