  1. It's the same suspension design as the Mk4 Supra (and mostly interchangeable parts). Also very similar to the Aristo/GS - rear subframe is the same part number, for example. So not as bad as I had thought then! :) Does this imply that aftermarket Supra suspension kits should also fit the Soarer?
  2. What you got mate you got any nice soarers on your forecourt? Still waiting on some of the funds from some of the bits i've sold and from the car mate, so not 100% sure how much i'll have as yet :) The thing with the Soarer from what I hear is the standard handling is pretty poor . What kind of aftermarket things can be done? Depending on budget what about a Skyline R34 GTS-T? Ok, not the full GTR, but you get those looks, easily modified to 400bhp and RWD. They seem to be around the £6- £8K mark on Pistonheads. Or Maybe a Supra TT for a similar price? @Mr2lad - your Soarer looks stunning! :)
  3. Welcome to the Club :) PS Thanks for the PM but my car sold a few weeks back to a buyer in Finland. :)
  4. I got them last year too. They are ok considering the price but one of mine did faill off. Luckily I managed to reattach it and its been fine since. People on another forum have recommended these: http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/product-detai...on=4&ID=531 Cheap and good review from Auto Express too. I think I will try a set. :)
  5. Nothng wrong with BMW drivers - they are wonderful human beings. Always indicate, good observation and drive somewhere around the speed limit. :) They are too busy smiling enjoying there car since it is the Ultimate Driving Machine. Audi drivers generally seem to be c*cks as top gear says. Saying that I do know a good Audi driver (Gord) so that must be the exception that proves the rule. Re the status thing. My uncle who know sweet FA about cars but thinks he is an expert won't go anywhere near a Lexus because its a "WHITE ELEPHANT" and not a proper prestige car like his Merc ML is. The Lexus is a "JUMPED UP TOYOTA". Put it this way, park his new 08 ML 280 that he claims cost him over £50K :o next to my mums RX300 with the private plate on it that cost like £9K and the Merc it certainly doesn't look like a car worth over 5 times more!! I honestly belive that if he saw some dog poo on the floor but it had a Merc badge on it he would love it!!
  6. Really am heart broken for you Chris! Don't know what to say. :shutit:
  7. Changing balljoints can have that affect since certain suspension components have moved. :)
  8. What are you looking for in a car? What are the requirements? Personally I would look at other brands too with a £9K budget unless you must get a Lexus (nothing wrong with that!!) :) I wouldn't really consider a IS300 unless you want to keep it for the long hall.
  9. I am not a teacher but I work with around 10 different schools. Only one Lexus (IS220D) I have ever seen at a school and that belonged to the school secretary. To be honest I don't blame the staff because some of the schools are in dodgy areas and some :tsktsk: kids would just damaged and scratch the cars so not really worth it. Saying that my mum is/was a teacher but now works direct for the Local Authority as an Advisor and she drives an RX.
  10. OMG!! I thought this was a sick joke at first! :o :o :o :o Bloody Hell! Hope you have a happy outcome!
  11. Happy Birthday Chris! :D Hope you have a great day!
  12. used to live in oldham, moorside,so what u drive now bro,i p/xed my scooby fro a lexus What Scooby did you have? :)
  13. Welcome Hassan :) I'm always in and around Rochdale/Oldham but don't currenty drive a Lexus......... I did have a green IS200 a few years ago however.
  14. Gord, Imrans Aristo has a small fog light fitted to the bottom on the bumper. I think it just depends on how it was done when the cars were SVA'd. Mine was fitted with a dual element bulb in the rear so the fog light also acted as an extra brake light. Looked pretty cool. I was at Auto-Serve on Sat and they did say a very nice black Aristo came. They liked the car ;)
  15. Still got the BMW mate. Sorry to say this on a Lexus forum but its the best car I have ever had and I don't see myself getting rid of it for aa while yet - its been 3 and a half years and I am still loving it! Good to see it went to good home in the end mate :D Ps, Get that manifold changed ASAP before the small flap fooks your engine & turbo on the BMW or you will be changing your mind on the best car you ever had :P Remember is not a case of ''if'' its WHEN :o Yes Sir, ordering it this week from the stealer ;)
  16. Well Done Rabster. Really good project you have going on :)
  17. Still got the BMW mate. Sorry to say this on a Lexus forum but its the best car I have ever had and I don't see myself getting rid of it for aa while yet - its been 3 and a half years and I am still loving it!
  18. WOW...... you know your cars Neil if you can tell its a Honda from that! :P
  19. Hi guys, I have deliberately kep quiet for the past month or so about my Aristo sale (in case Mr Fargo takes them out like he has with all my other interested parties ). After so many time wasters and :tsktsk: in the UK I did get a call from a interested buyer in Finland a month aga. I thought it was a scam at first but he sent me a £500 bank transfer and 1 month, 150+ emails and some cash he arrived last night at Manchester Airport and we did the deal. He was loving the car! I know I was only the seller but it was exciting for me to have a buyer come all that what just to buy my car based on pictures. He said the car looked exactly as described and was worth the travel. The buyer mentioned that there were a few other Aristos about cheaper then mine or similar priced, but he loved the classy look I have achieved and he hates over the top stupid stick on bits and big bumpers!) The car should be a sleeper not shout about it- if I was going to do that then it defeats the point! He bought some friends with him and they are having a Road Trip now driving the car all the way back to Finland over the bank holiday weekend. I bet they will have fun on the Autobahn........... ;) I would love to do something like that someday. :) With some really bad weather in the evenings I was worried that I wouldn't be able to give the car a proper clean but I did my best;I have to say it looked really good (Meguirs quick detail did the trick!). The night before I filled the boot up with spare parts the buyer wanted. Yesterday I then waxed the car and cleaned as best I could and filled up a 25L drum of V-Power I had got for him as well as checking the under bonnet fluids, tyre pressures getting an extra 1L Top-up of Silkolene 10w-50 oil for him and I also had to buy a set of spacers which I forgot to do for the front wheels just in case they had a puncture on the front wheels (the spare won't clear the big brakes) etc. I must admit I hadn't checked the oil as regulary as I should but was impressed the car used no oil ;) Taking all that back to Finland (and filled up fuel) AND obviously there own luggage. My quick clean included cleaned the engine bay plastics, exterior wash and wax, vaccume interior and conditioning the leather seats etc. Car looked and smelt good :) Looking good to meet her new owner: The test drive was quite funny because we were in the Manchester Airport Short Stay Car park and we didn't really want to leave because I didn't know where we were going and you'd have to pay the rip off charges to come back in. The buyer was quite happy to just drive round the car park and get used to the beast. I couldn't really demonstrate the power. The car has so much paperwork that really even the arch leaver file I provided wasn't enough and it was over flowing! My final view of the car as it leaves and never to be seen in the UK again probably. It honestly was a mint example of an Aristo and a such a shame that minus the few genuine ones, the UK buyers were (sorry to say but) :tsktsk: bunch of time wasters. All I can say is this guy knows how to buy a car - if you want it you go get it even if it is 2000KM+ away where as the UK buyers couldn't even do 20 miles in same cases. I feel better saying that and getting my frustrations out. The eventual buyer was again the FIRST PERSON to look at the car, as always seems to be the case with my cars - never sold a car yet where the first person has not bought it. Hardly any haggling over the price and its nice being able to stick two fingers up to the :tsktsk: buyers that ring you up saying they have four grand for me "right now" in cash - I say thats very nice for them, and?? :shutit: Dreamers............... if they think that - I'd rather keep the car then give it way. (As you can tell had some right people trying it on) :D All though if feels like I have been selling the car for a while its not that long really when you consider poor Dave has been trying to shift his Aristo for the best part of 18 months and is priced lower then mine? They are hard cars to sell. I have never seen anyone else drive the Aristo and under the dusk lights, as they were driving away it just looked like a BEAST not to be messed with - no wonder I was getting looks in it. So thats the end of my Aristo ownership. But you can't get rid of me easily yet. I am going to claim my mum RX300 is mine so I am staying :P :P :P
  20. Chris you will probably have interference with neighbouring wifi networks in your area. In your router configuration you should have an option to change the channel. Try a few different channels and hopefully that fixes your issue. Anees :)
  21. Mechanical - Charlesworth Motors in Glossop for anything complex since they know the Aristo really well. Bodywork - Auto-Serve in Oldham http://www.auto-serve.co.uk/ :) All the servicing and some of the suspension work on my car was done by Auto-Serve with the rest of the work done by Charlesworth.
  22. i wonder if any of the inner circle ever commented on that mate YES!! Got lots of stick for that Neil!! :P
  23. Back when I didn't know better I bought a set of Gold badges from ebay Us and drove around with IS300 badges on! I honest just though the IS300 was just the US model of the IS200. You can get your existing badges gold plated too, but it really depends on how much you are willing to spend. :)
