  1. Was your ECU cleared by the service technician at the dealership/garage when you brought it into them or did this happen before you brought it to them to service? Reason I asks is I accept that my ECU may have been cleared when the battery last died a few months ago, but I'd estimate I've done 2-3k KM since then so if I understand the issue correctly, this mileage should be enough to be able to perform the hybrid check. Also, the dealer mentioned low voltage was the reason they couldn't do the hybrid check, didn't mention anything about ECU being cleared
  2. My 12v battery has died a few times over the last year as my car has been in the garden a lot as Ive been WFH during Covid so this could make sense if it's the reason for it. The battery hasn't died in a few months however and I've driven the car a fair bit the last few weeks since restrictions have lifted so I would have thought it would be OK for a system check at this stage
  3. Yeah he said it would be FOC, however I WFH at the moment so not clocking a lot of miles so I cannot say how long it will take me to clock up 600km. The whole reason I brought my car to Lexus main dealer was for the Hybrid system check will maintains the Hybrid warranty. I have a friend who recently had similar issue with this same dealer, they said they couldn't test his hybrid system because the hybrid testing equipment was down. He complained to the manager and had his car collected from his house and hybrid system checked, so I think you could be right that they just didn't want to do it there and then but that is outrageous if its true.
  4. Just had my car services by an official Lexus main dealer and they said they couldn't test my hybrid system as my battery voltage was low. He said I need to drive the car for 600km and bring it back to have the Hybrid system checked. Sounds very odd, surely they could charge my battery to the correct voltage seeing how they are an official Lexus main dealer? Anyone experience this before?
  5. Thanks for the replies. Just ordered one of them key pouches and I have an old steerling lock I'll put back i to service but it sounds like these thieves aren't in the market for Lexus cars so I might not be on their radar anyway
  6. Neighbours car got robbed last night, Audi A4 which had its key cloned from what I hear. Has me thinking now how hard is it to steal an IS300H? Is there anything you guys do to prevent your car from being stolen?
  7. Yeah I jumped it yesterday off my partners car and started straight away. I don't a few km in it to give the battery a chanrge and plan to start it every day until normal life resumes.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I think a new battery is probably the best way to go but I seem to have a problem finding one for my car. My car details are below so when I add in my registration on a number of websites including Halfords it states there are no batteries available for my car. But if I change the engine capacity rating to 2494 there ate lots of batteries available. Am I to assume its OK to use batteries for the 2494 cc model? Make & Model - LEXUS IS 300H Description - 300 H SE 4DR AUTO 2.5 Engine Capacity - 2493
  9. I have a 2014 IS300H which rarely leaves the driveway lately as I am working from home and we're still in lockdown. As a result the battery goes flat after about 2 or 3 days when it's not in use. What is my best option? Could I buy this 12v charger from Amazon and disconnect the battery to recharge it or should I buy a new battery? Cheers https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T6GV32V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_BAVWC7JBXH242TGEX148
  10. Thanks lads, wasn't sure if it was something out of the ordinary to be concerned about, I'll throw a dehumidifier in there
  11. I've a 2014 IS300H and it's been rarely used as I am working from home the last year. As a result of lack of use, the battery dies and I need to jump start it. I opened the boot and cover to the battery compartment today and noticed a lot of condensation around the inside where the battery is. I had a 2 litre bottle of water in the boot and that was Full of condensation also. Any idea what caused this and should I be concerned?
  12. Yeah that could explain why the alarm went off but what would explain it stopping by itself after a few seconds is what's puzzling me
  13. Checked the boot and it was closed tight. I don't know what caused it and what made it stop 😕
  14. Yeah maybe wind set it off but what I can't understand is how or why the alarm stop by itself after a few seconds
