  1. Thanks again Louise I will certainly let you know how it goes. I did think about the respray option but I'm not sure the finish would be good enough. I spoke to a local spray shop who advised against as well as you need special paint and getting a colour match is very hard indeed. I think the other suggestions about FB are probably were I'll try. I'll be sure to let you know how I get on. Best wishes Graham
  2. Hi Louise Many thanks for replying and the advice. I have had a look at eBay in the past but struggled to find anything. I need the whole unit really as the area around the passenger airbag actually went slightly sticky. I believe it is all one piece - it extends across the whole dash and down the centre console, so that's what I'm after. I am on FB but have never used the marketplace so that's a great tip. Thanks very much indeed. Best wishes Graham
  3. Hello I have a 2002 IS300 in almost perfect condition (done just 27K miles) apart from the dashboard. I'm sure many of you will know about the manufacturing fault which caused some dashes to soften, making it easy for them to get marked. Why there was no recall is beyond me (I think there was in the USA) Anyway, I would like to replace mine so I asked my friendly Lexus dealer and they said that part had now been discontinued and they could not get one from Lexus UK. But if I could find one they would happily fit it as it was a relatively quick job. So I've been searching around the internet and drawn a blank so far. I'm sort of hoping that when Lexus UK decided not to stock IS Series 1 parts any more, they sold them off to some firm somewhere and one of you guys may know who that was?? Or who else might be able to source one? I did think of a breaker but they are not likely to be in good condition now. Many thanks! Graham
  4. Thanks Rich Yes, I'm sure an IS200 dash would be the same. As far as I know, the interior of the IS300 and IS200 is largely the same (save all leather etc in the IS300) I was wondering about a plastic repair. I'm sure it would be possible to repair the scratches which are superficial but there are some slightly deeper grooves on some edges. I suspect a mobile phone holder or something has been attached at some stage and has left tell tale signs. I'll try to find someone that does dashboard repairs and see if it can be made better.
  5. Hello I'm the proud owner of a Series 1 IS300. Best car I've ever had by far. It's only done 25K miles and I'm bringing it back to showroom condition. The only other owner somehow managed to damage the top of the dash so it has scratches and some grooves in the plastic and a nasty stickyish feel on the passenger side airbag lid that just won't come off. I'm thinking the best solution would be to just replace the dash. Would anyone know where I might get one and who is a good Lexus restoration company to do it? I'm based in the North West of England. Thanks so much for any help and guidance
