Mines a petrol coupe and it’s 94cm from the rear to where the back seats are. That’s where it’s deepest and where the roof mechanism will most probably intrude, not at the sides. That deepest area is 80cm wide. The boot area has all sorts of bumps and bulges which diminish it, and the boot lid protrudes down in places, so id recommend finding a v8 coupe and see if your walker fits either in the boot or in the back seats, and don’t rely on abstract measurements. i find it handy but I generally travel light or with multiple small bags and items that you can play Tetris with till they go in.

At his insistence, took my young son for a drive yesterday and we had a lot of fun with the windows down, in a tunnel or two, “haha daddy so loud” all the while staying under the speed limits. At one point we encountered a few older hot hatches obviously racing each other in the opposite direction. I have no doubt that either of these young guns, in their SEATS or fiestas, would be faster than us, but not necessarily having more fun. That the beauty of the LC and the V8 - you’re having such an experience pootling around town with the engine burbling or going through the first 3 gears that you don’t have to push the boundaries on a public road. I’ve got to say when the car is warm - the sound of up changes (a crack) down changes (autoblipped) are among the best I’ve ever experienced in an auto.

Yeah the 2.3 was out or reach for the likes of me lol but the two litre cortina was my first “performance” car - legend has it that it would do 125mph* and had a penchant for unintended 180s in the wet - or so they say. i wouldn’t know of course. * indicated and downhill

Agree ISF was a keeper - but i replaced my wife’s RS4 with it while she was out of the country. She wasn’t ever really happy, as it lacked proper space in the rear and boot at a time when we were breeding. The LC replaced my Boxster S, and my wife went nuts, as we now had ten litres of Lexus v8 outside and it was all for me. ISF was duly replaced by RX 450h as our family car, and our marriage got back on track. If you have kids and stuff and youre only going to have one car ISF beats LC500 easily. I’d have one again in a heartbeat. Less than 2 kids? Not too much luggage? LC500 totally knocks ISF out of the park.

This is a surprisingly easy list to remember and trot out. If you drive it like a granny they will easily last that long. i mostly drove my 911 like a granny, unplugged the exhausts so it sounded good all the time not just above 3-4000 rpm

I must confess after saying I don’t like yellow, after looking at the video on the website it looks bloody good, the LC suits bold colours. Make them an offer but insist they service it first, as it needs one, then you’ve no worries about the door handles. I bought mine from a non Lexus dealer and I insisted on the service being done first.

I wouldn’t be tempted. I think if you were convinced you were going to buy it and keep it for the real long term then you might be ok, but if there is any chance you’d sell it in 3-4 years depreciation might really hurt, with this many miles plus whatever you put on it. Needs to drop more.

Au contraire - the entire test drive in manual and first gear…..Cardiff garage is paying for fuel….they can blame Commissar Drakeford. On our much discussed yellow veteran, 80,000 miles is a lot to swallow on a luxury grand tourer without some kind of discount, even though a well serviced big engined Lexus will probably do it and not even notice.

Depends why you’d consider the change in the first place I guess. First of all, now I have a growing family I’m no longer “wealthy”, so newer Porsches, astons Ferraris and the like are out for me - can’t pay the monthly , nor even the 2-3k bills that Porsches throw up, never mind exotica. I’ve had 2 astons, a 911, 2 Boxsters and occasionally you need to find a lot of money if they are out of warranty. If they are IN warranty that means depreciation is monstrous. Staying in the uk the only boxes the LC doesn’t tick are space for 2 adults AND 2 small kids, and it’s not a convertible. Attractively styled sonorous 4 seat convertibles……RS4\5, Maserati gran cabrio (yikes £££), Mercedes E63/C63 cabriolet but none of these would give you the same sort of peace of mind. if I was to move to Australia I’d have to fork out 33% of what the car is worth in luxury car tax and I’m not paying that, so I’d need to find a car worth not much more than 70k AUD - so that would probably be a GSF or RCF.

Takes a special kind of person to want a massive yellow sporty car, even yellow Lambos and Ferraris are rare, and Lexus buyers are far more conservative. I wouldn’t buy either of these as I might have to sell it later. Stop fixating on them. “There was a flurry of activity when several cars came up under 50k and they went fast, everything else has sat around” My answer: I think that demonstrates that there are knowledgeable waiting buyers who recognise the extreme value of a non yellow LC at even slightly under 50k, and that pent up demand is strong while supply is weak. Anything under 50k is a very sound used buy, and dealers wanting to make a quick buck will have priced to sell quick. They DID go quick. Really quick. Tells you something, and it’s not that prices are going down further. “I think it's much more likely there's a mismatch in the market, buyers don't see the value and sellers are overestimating their worth.” My answer: BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH (and see previous answer ) “Rarity and luxury by themselves don't dictate price.” My final answer: I don’t think I said anything like that and I don’t agree with that. I’d say beautiful looks, awesome v8 sound, extreme reliability leading to longevity and predictable running costs AND rarity and luxury dictate prices.

Did you call them? Knowing how Hatfield do their pricing (top end) I suspect that’s a mistake. If it isn’t, and if I didn’t need my back seats to be semi usable by short people and toddlers I’d be driving there to put a deposit down. (Convertible seats are worse than coupes)

Well he’s not obliged to read but equally you’re definitely not obliged to post here ad nauseam. As for telling Brian not to read a topic he is a Lexus owner on a Lexus owner forum (see website name) and you are not. You defend your right to a presence here but basically you’re not here to contribute or learn but simply to promote the theory that Lexus owner-owned LCs are overpriced - and prices will fall significantly- in the forlorn hope you can buy one yourself. If current Lexus LC owners object to that somewhat pessimistic theory - promoted by a non Lexus owner on an owner forum, then they have every right to read that guff and object to it, rather than leaving you to peddle your pessimistic guff unchallenged. (Speaking of objecting to your pessimistic guff there is so much nonsense crammed in your last short “market analysis” reply to me that I haven’t got time to address it line by line - but I will later - don’t worry. I rather enjoy it.)

There is another interpretation of what’s going on than “crazy stuff!”. It might just mean that your bold LC market theory, that you were so sure of and so jaw-droppingly smug about a while ago, is wrong. Owners hang on to these cars, so supply is extremely limited. Demand is sufficient that they aren’t crashing down to 40k at all, not even the yellow ones. (Apologies again to any yellow owners - you’re just more confident than me - I simply couldn’t carry it off) Once they hit the ten year mark and these fabulous cars are no longer covered by warranty things might be different, but by then Lexus probably won’t be selling these, indeed nobody will be selling v8s. These things are luxurious, will last forever, look amazing, sound amazing and are already rarer than hens teeth. Maybe you have bought one while you could, rather than just talk talk talk……. Oh no, you wanted the perfect spec didn’t you. For a fiver. 🙂

I think the sidewall might also be a thicker so ride might also get improved on the older “boneshaker” cars.

The windows are almost permanently down in my 67 coupe when it’s not raining and I’m below 60mph. It’s not a car it’s a musical instrument.

Our silver ISF 2013 was our family car for almost two years. we had a rear facing baby seat in the rear on passenger side, and my wife used to sit behind me. In fairness she’s quite short but I had the drivers seat in “grand touring” position in front of her, with seat reclined and legs quite straight. Once I got car sick after negotiating a particularly bumpy bit of country lanes for 40 mins and I had to go behind her, and it was totally fine with roles reversed. I really like Jayemm but what he seems to misunderstand is that the circumstances in which the rear seats would be used would rarely be to accommodate four “stout” six foot gentlemen, but more likely two adults and two kids, with women are generally much smaller. The only reason we traded the isf in was I bought an LC500 as “my” dream car and she wanted “her” dream car - which funnily enough wasn’t a second ripsnorting Lexus 5 litre v8 but a large white SUV - so trade in for RX 450h followed.

If you put it in anywhere in the cabin you better have a black interior- red, tan or (heaven forbid) white will not take kindly to stuffing tyres in and out, even if you had the strength for a rear.

Ever since I got stranded one morning by a flat tyre on a Sunday I’ve carried an electric pump in the car which goes in the cigarette socket. You can pump up and test how long the tyre takes to go down, then use that calculation to limp somewhere, topping up along the way.

Ive bought a Stoplock Pro Elite. £50 Nice and big and yellow so the bastards know in advance they will have to work a bit harder if they want it. Good deterrent I think - they’d have to get the Stoplock off first before doing the canbus thingy as when they start it it’s pretty noisy 🙂
