  1. Hi Phillip. I have the same model Lexus and am having a similar problem to you, with the car revving. Thought it was a clutch problem, but had this checked and it's not. Have noticed that this revving does not occur when the air conditioning is switched off. Have had the car for a year and it has only just started doing this. Have recently had the cam belt changed. Does anyone have an answer to this problem? Thanks. :D
  2. Hi there. Whilst driving recently, have noticed when changing low gears normal driving speed, when clutch is pressed in the engine carries on reving for a short while. Thought there was a problem with the clutch slipping, took it to the garage, mechanic checked it over and said clutch ok. He told me to turn air conditioning off and see if it still happened. Drove home, 5 miles with AC off and it didn't happen. Has anyone else noticed this? :D
  3. Hi there. Everytime it has been raining and I open the boot, water absolutely pours out of the boot lid. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. Can't work out where the water is getting in. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for that but how do you get to the washer reservoir? :)
  5. Can anyone tell me where the pump is for the water for the headlight washers. I am getting a clicking noise when I press the button. Can anyone help? Thanks. :D
  6. Thanks for that Alex, very helpful. :winky:
  7. Hi there, am having the Lexus serviced next week and am buying the oil myself, know what to buy but not how much goes in. So can anyone please tell me how much oil goes in for manual gear box and how much in the diff. Thanks very much. :winky:
  8. Hi there. Would anyone recommend using engine and fuel treatments. I am sure I have read somewhere that Lexus owners don't recommend using them, but don't know why. Thanks Debs :winky:
  9. We have had the cambelt changed last year at 93k, but since then we keep getting a smell of rubber every now and again. Thanks
  10. Thanks for that. The noise seems to happen for the first few minutes when the car is cold, also happens when the car is slowing down.
  11. Hi there. Can anyone help a damsel in distress? There is a very strange noise which seems to come from under the car, or the back of the dashborad, when the engine is cold, when it is revved up or when you pull away in first gear. It is very hard to describe this noise but it sounds like a crunching/squelching, a bit like driving over gravel. Doesn't last very long, but is quite loud. When I first heard it a few weeks ago I thought there was a twig stuck under the car, but there wasn't. You can't hear it under the bonnet when it happens, we have already checked that one. Come on boys any ideas???? Can I ask another question?? Is is possible to check the condition of the cambelt without removing half of the engine? Thanks :winky:
  12. Hi, does anyone know where I can find a cheapish dash tray, or has anyone got one for sale for an IS200. Thanks :D
  13. Thanks boys, seems like a lot of messing around for such a little thing though. :D
  14. ;) Hi, have looked in handbook and can't seem to find how to change one of the bulbs of the number plate light. Can anyone help a damsel in distress!
  15. Hi, just a quick question. Having cam belt changed soon, does anyone know whether you have to have the tensioner changed as well. Be glad for any advice. Thanks. Debs :winky:
  16. :duh: We have a Lexus IS200. Has anybody experienced problems with front wheel bearings. We seem to have a speed related noise coming from the front wheel. The local garage we use thinks it's the wheel bearing, they have rung round and no one can supply one. Is this a common problem, car has done 90,000. Can anyone help please. :D
  17. Problem with front wheel bearing, does anybody know how easy they are to change and are there any special tools involved. :)
  18. Thanks for that, we are sorted now. :D
  19. Thanks for that, we must have a problem then. :duh: Are these side lights?
  20. Having just purchased a Lexus IS200se, can anyone tell me if parking lights means the same as side lights, as there is no mention of side lights in the manual. When the switch is clicked once the back lights come on but not the front and the bulbs are not blown. Can anyone help.
  21. Is there anyone out there who lives in the Preston, Lancashire area can advise me of where to get my Lexus IS200se serviced/repairs, by somebody who knows what they are doing, that won't cost an arm and a leg. :D
