  1. Hi Marius Had a similar problem with my LS600hL, except my audio did not come back intermittently. I weas convinced it was the amplifier and had to send to USA for testing. Eventually the problem was found to be poor connections in a multi connector located under the rear seat. Connections had corroded due to liquid spillage at some time of the car's life. I know they are different vehicles but there just might be a common thread that might help you. Good luck Dave
  2. Hi Steve Yes it does look beautiful in black (when clean😃). Mine is metallic red (Premium Mesa Red) which is washed regularly and does not show road dirt. Economical for the size of car 35-42 on a good run but a lot less when in "hybrid power" but it can shift. Do you have the five seater with screen and rear controls? Love my LS David
  3. Welcome Steve I'm sure you will enjoy the LS6600hL, it is truly a fabulous car David
  4. Hi James I note the issues you raise in respect of imported Lexus and am surprised that a huge company such as Lexus cannot provide easy solutions for you. I have not advertised it yet but I will be selling my UK LS600hL with about 63k miles. The motor is 61 reg in premium messa red with black aniline leather seats. Car is beautiful and drives perfect with full Lexus history. We have loved owning this car and enjoyed to the max, now it is time to move on with something different and pass on the immaculate Lexus for someone else to enjoy. Wherever you get your LS600hL from you will experience a truly amazing drive. Good luck.
  5. Hi Baz Sorry no pics. If you lift up the base(s) of the rear seat you cannot miss the multimedia junction located towards the middle. If the fault returns pull each cable at the junction and you might find one comes away. Best of luck
  6. Hi Baz I had a similar problem with my LS600. Sent amplifier to United Radio in New York America, no one in uk would look at the particular amp fitted to LS600. Amp was tested and found to ok. incidentally, amp is located in rear offside wing behind boot lining. Fault eventually found In corroded wiring joint under rear seat. Check this joint, check all joints. It’s a great system when working properly. Hopefully your car will be fine, but if it is an intermittent fault (ie corroded joint) the experience above could help. I’m assuming that at some time in my car’s past, a rear seat passenger may have spilt some liquid. Enjoy the Ls600, it is one of the great motors.
  7. That is a beautiful motor. Enjoy and please keep us updated on your thoughts as you get more experience with the car. I was admiring a new silver/grey LC in a Lexus showroom last week and it looked lovely but I think the colour combination on yours is even better. Have a great smiley time.
  8. Thanks to Exdee, Las Palmas, Spock66 and steve2006 for your responses, much appreciated. I will follow up on your suggestions and let you know. I agree with steve2006 that the location of the amplifier does not make sense, it would be easily damaged in a rear/side bump and would probably double repair costs. The poor support for Mark Levinson equipment is very disappointing, the agents will only repair certain models?
  9. Hi George Thanks, already tried them, they will not repair my amp from LS600h - 86280-OW710
  10. Hi Mark Tried SVT Edinburgh, looks like they are no longer trading. Thanks again.
  11. Hi John Thanks for your comments, I bought the car about 18months ago from a Lexus dealer with a 12 month warranty. Car was due a service just before 10years old and qualified for "Relax" which at face value seemed good. Hi Herbs Relax excludes all multimedia not just the head unit. I agree it is annoying that Relax is not a "proper" warranty. Hi Mark Thanks for your advice
  12. Hi Does anyone know of a reputable firm to repair the amplifier 86280-OW710. The display still works but no audio, no sat nav guidance and no bluetooth. Tried as many ML agents I could find on google, most were domestic systems only, or could/would not work on the -OW710? Lexus dealer reckoned it could take 5-6 hours at their top hourly rate. Apparently not included in "Relax" warranty even though I was advised it was same as a new car warranty? Any help would be appreciated, I can remove the amplifier and post.
  13. Hi All I have just had my LS600h serviced at the end of the extended warranty and just before it's 10th birthday (low mileage so qualifies for Relax) but was not given any paperwork to confirm this. The dealer told me it was all registered on the Lexus system and that in the unlikely event a claim was made the dealer would check the system. Further research reveals there is a CWS (Central Warranty Service) which is accessible by dealers only. I think Lexus should provide some evidential document detailing fully the T&C's and expiry date. Any thoughts? Dave
  14. Hi Adam Welcome to LOC. The LS430 is class and looks like you have found a gem. Have you looked at service history?
  15. Hi Medster Bought my 2011 LS600hl from Lexus dealer about three months ago and paid extra for Gen3 protection outside and inside. So glad I had it done, paintwork looks great, water seems to “run off “body and glass. Gen3 website reckons it should last 5years. Cost was about £600. Dave
  16. Didn't know I had them. Just checked and yay I've got foam chip catchers, but will not be eating in the car 😂 Regards Dave
  17. As Steve says, the electrical distribution network is near maximum capacity and is creaking. I believe we are close to widespread power outages unless some control is implemented. Energy suppliers are seeking powers to remotely control charging of EV's. They want the option of turning off selected electrical supplies if the grid is at critical level. How will they do this? My best guess is that they will utilise smart meters to control maximum demand. This is scary and potentially dangerous in many ways. Domestic health related issues are the main worry, nuisance power cuts could be common, and unreliable EV charging a result. Back to Paul's original post, a factor in the economics must be vehicle depreciation. In years to come oil burners will be valued less and less whilst EV's should retain better value.
  18. Hi Fletch I think you have paid a fair price for such a low mileage, immaculate LS600h. I bought mine a month ago and it is a fantastic car. Remember these cars do 200k+ if looked after. Has it got dealer history? Enjoy
  19. Hi Jeff I recently had to source a second key for my sons Mercedes and looked at the offerings on ebay. The "blank" key would need programming at dealership so check first. There is a risk of the dealer taking a deep breath and telling you the blank bought is not working properly. Checked out a quality locksmith - Neners Ltd Swansea, they could do most models but when they interrogated the car ccu found the car model had a revised key that year (2015) and their software could not program. Cost would have been about £160, and they do need the car for a few hours. Decided in end to use MB dealer and they ordered a new genuine key (£280) using car VIN number. Key came ready to go and worked perfectly (had to show V5). Use Lexus dealer or enquire at quality locksmith. Good luck David
  20. Hi John Thanks for your welcome and advice. Will check out the LS forum. Cheers David
  21. Hi John and Steve Thanks for your warm welcomes, I appreciate your posts. Steve - as you say, not many Lexus in our area, certainly not seen any LS600hL's. Very few RX's too. Probably due to lack of dealer presence, nearest is Cardiff. David
  22. Hello to all LOC members, I am looking forward to actively contributing to the forums. Had an LS400 in the nineties which was a fantastic reliable workhorse, we covered about 180k miles together. Now I am retired I have just acquired a 2011 LS600hL which is an absolute dream drive. Still working out all the buttons.😃 Regards Dave
