  1. just thought I'd post this as it may be useful to others. had interesting chat with toyota parts guy today. went in to buy some oil to top up. asked him for the 0w20 he said "honestly you should use 5w30 in my car. because its high mileage and out of warranty. he said he puts 5w30 in all cars that come in for service out of warranty. he seemed very genuine, i told him service manager in lexus dealership told me to always use 0w20, this was when I first bought car in 2019. never got good vibe of that lexus lad, toyota guy said yeah they will always tell u that because of the price difference. il be going with toyota guys advice next oil service.
  2. I put it on rear wheel. when I took it off the paint off the space saver wheel had scraped of onto brake caliper. so obviously it was rubbing off caliper and why it wouldn't move. need 17 inch space saver
  3. it's a 16 inch space saver I have 17 inch wheels
  4. just be glad u have correct size space saver. had my ct200h 3 years. got a puncture one day. used repair kit. but it was sidewall puncture.so they are useless. took out space saver. put it on. car wont move. sure its the wrong size wheel. Great. would love to meet the idiot who put that in boot. mine are 17" wheels aswel. if u cant fit 17" space-saver sure u might aswel buy full size spare wheel. just bring it on long journeys
  5. bit of advice for anyone on here with high mile ct200h,I'm sure most have heard of this issue. it's worth getting egr valve, pipe and intake manifold cleaned out. seems to be common issue with these and the same generation prius. on way to work last week i started getting really bad engine shuddering under light acceleration. when under high load it went away. only shuddered when releasing accelerator. when starting car back up to go home it was still shaking. but after a less than a minute of driving it completely disappeared and has not come back. I asked my local mechanic about it and he said it's more than likely egr. he has done many jobs on the prius down the years. I never got any check engine light when it happened thankfully. I was able to take of the egr pipe to have a look. had some carbon build up inside it. anyway. sorry for long post. just something to look out for in future.
  6. yes mark I was hesitant about the mileage but after doing some research before buying I read that they are capable of doing 300k without any major issues reported and haven't heard of any transmission failures. they seem pretty robust. plus it had full lexus service history up to 134k I bought it at 140k. seems like it was well cared for in England. still feels tight and very smooth drive. oh and sorry John for calling u Roy.😁 just seen your profile.
  7. hi Roy. its just hit the 150k mile mark. due service at 151k. the dealership had no ideal date for me to leave car but she said it's due a 16yr service. prob due to mileage. I didn't even ask what price it would be out of fear 😅. they charge 139 euro per hour for labour.
  8. thanks for help m4rkw. had a flick through service booklet. it says inverter coolant should be changed at 150k. and front diff oil should be done every 40k. the book is stamped every 10k. just doesn't say what work was done. does lexus keep a log of all work that was carried out? I'm hoping it had major service at 100k like bmws need.
  9. hi, new member here with 2011 ct200h. just wondering does anyone know what type of service is done at 150k miles by dealership. car was serviced every 10k miles while in Britain. company car. came into ireland at 130k miles. hasn't been to lexus since but still serviced twice before I bought it. bought it last year and asked garage I bought it of to get hybrid health check. all good. car dives like new. only issue that iv had is air con only blows cold on one side of vents. appreciate any replies. thanks.
