  1. Very true, I hope they've changed the design now
  2. Hi everyone, I noticed today my horn wasn't working so took it to my local mechanic to take a look. Turns out those thieves who took my catalytic converter cut the wires from the grille. I don't understand why the wires are so easy to get to, surely they should have been more secured.
  3. Very true, a friend of mine not too far from me noticed these scumbags trying to take his catalytic converter from his CCTV, he went outside and they told him to get back inside the house and they showed they had machetes and knives. He called the police but by the time police arrived, they'd already gone.
  4. It really is and the noise was something else. Plus you could really smell the fumes.
  5. Hi everyone, Unfortunately I had the catalytic converter stolen from my car 2 weeks back. Car was parked on my driveway and the thieves stole it during the night. We don't have any CCTV or ring doorbell nor do our neighbours. Went through insurance, fortunately it took only 5 working days for my car to be collected, parts to be ordered and fitted. Total costs from the garage were around £1200 (£800 for parts) which my insurance will be paying. Just had my car delivered back to me and the car sounds normal now. I'm getting the Lexus Catloc fitted tomorrow. I'd advise all of you to do the same as well. I was aware of catalytic converter theft but just never thought it'd happen to me.
  6. Thanks guys, I appreciate it and will check out the links
  7. Hi everyone, Recently had a hit and run, parked up on a residential road to go to the shops, came back 30 minutes later and someone has hit the front of my car probably whilst trying to park. Didn't have the courtesy to leave any details, I asked around if anyone saw anything, even knocked on a few houses to see if they saw anything or have any cameras but no one saw anything. Fortunately it's only the license plate and holder which took the hit, so now I need to replace my front license plate and holder. Anyone know where I can get the holder from? Also is it just simply a matter of unscrewing the existing plate and holder and replacing them? Thanks
  8. Thanks Thomas, 19 plate nice 👍 How much was it if you don't mind me asking? Mpg is fantastic, I'm averaging around 56mpg
  9. Agreed, that's why I always carry my jump starter pack in my boot and check it every month or so to make sure it's charged.
  10. Thanks for the detailed explanation Herbie. I remember quite a few years back, my brother and I were at the petrol station and we needed a jump start. It was like 1am and the only other car around was a Toyota Prius, my brother asked the driver and he said he shouldn't jump start but as there were no other cars around he reluctantly did the jump start for us. Our car started up fine and the Prius seemed fine there and then.
  11. Oh right, I see, thanks for clarifying.
  12. Hi Steve, Thanks for the advice, that's what I was thinking tbh. The car already has FLSH so was in two minds about continuing that. Plus when you take it for servicing at places you don't trust they could try ramping up the works and prices so would prefer going to my local garage. Hi Herbie, Thanks for the advice, I read your post as well, brilliant advice. I used to have a Honda Accord before the Lexus and there was a short circuit somewhere where I had to keep jump starting it if I left it on the driveway for 2 days or more. Fortunately I bought a jump starter pack 2 years ago and still carry it in my boot just in case, fingers crossed, I won't have to use it on the Lexus. A friend of mine also has a Lexus CT200H and he told me all about the regen braking and how to drive the car correctly to get optimum use out of the traction battery. Quick question, how come you can jump start a hybrid with a conventional car but not the other way round?
  13. Hi all, New member here, I'm now a proud owner of a Lexus CT200H 2013. My first ever Lexus and first ever Hybrid, had it for about a week now and it drives absolutely amazing. I was wondering if it's worth getting the 7 year service done by Lexus and the Hybrid health check. My closest dealership is the Hayes branch in Greater London followed by the Edgware Road branch in Central London. Any thoughts or previous experiences with the above two branches would be much appreciated. Thanks
