  1. Has anybody ever managed to download a "Journey" created on the Lexus web site to a USB stick and then uploaded that into their car? The Lexus website suggests that you can upload journeys either by sharing to the car over the internet or by downloading to a USB stick. I only use a pay-as-you-go phone so I don't wish to connect my car to the internet with that but I would like to add journeys to the sat nav system via a USB stick. I have tried various browsers with various operating systems - (Windows 10, Mac Catalina and Linux) - and I either get a blank page or an error message which says "This page isn't working, www.lexus.co.uk is currently unable to handle this request, HTTP error 500". I have contacted Lexus with a question on this but having gone round the houses for ages they ended up advising me to visit my local Lexus centre to set up an internet connection via my multi media device - which is not what I was asking of course. I used to do this sort of thing with my previous car, a BMW 3 series, and just wondered if anybody had ever got the Lexus system to work?
  2. Hi Soham, I have a CTEK 5 MXS charger and following the advice I was given above I have been charging my UX by connecting directly to the battery in the boot. That seems to work just fine and I haven't had any issues. I fold the rear seats down, connect the charger and pass the cable out via the rear side door window. I do have the luxury of leaving the car in my garage while I am charging the battery so it is quite secure. I may try using the jump starting terminal under the bonnet next time - as recommended by Colin Barber.
  3. Thank you for all the helpful advice. I will check my CTEK charger for an inline fuse and if it has one I'll try using the jump point in the engine bay; otherwise I'll see if I can feed the cables out through the hatch and connect directly to the battery.
  4. I have a CTEK charger which I used with my previous car, a BMW, to keep the battery topped up. The BMW had the battery in the boot, like the UX, and charging terminals under the bonnet which I could use to connect the CTEK charger and trickle charge the battery. The Lexus has a connector under the bonnet for jump starting and I have seen a video of somebody connecting a CTEK charger to that. However, there is nothing in the manual to say whether this terminal can be used to trickle charge the battery. I would be grateful for any advice; initially my dealer said I could do this but then said he wasn't sure as Lexus Customer Services said they didn't think I could do it as the manual didn't say you could. All very confusing and not very helpful. Does anybody have a definitive answer on this?
