  1. Hi all recently have started hearing the exact same noise on my 2012 gs as this video here, Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the same noise. Have booked in with the mechanic on Friday anyway just to check.
  2. Great review and video only had my car since November of last year and feel the same about it in everyway. The front of the car is a love hate relationship for sure some days I like the look some days not so much. Have been considering changing out the grille to the f-sport one for a more aggressive look and recently added a spoiler to the rear just need to get my windows in the rear tinted and think I'd be happy out.
  3. Recently had a go with one and I think they are great. Have zero experience with one before just seen a few videos forensic detailing channel is great to see how good they are. Compared to hand wax and polishing there really is no comparison for me a fraction of the time for a much better result. The one I used is the Halfords own brand and it's good but a better choice would be the das 6 Halfords comes with poor pads and a short cable. I have some new pads on the way and plan to do the full car this coming week so will post some before and after pictures. For compounds can't go wrong with meguires ultimate for scratches and bad swirls.
  4. Going to go with a tinted in the rear section think I'll leave the front. Also planning to get the alloys refurbished and sprayed a light anthracite grey.
  5. Hi all recently fitted a spoiler to the rear of my gs450h I think it turned out great. Purchased it from ebay for 100 euro painted and delivered to Ireland. The paint was absolutely spot on and the quality of the spoiler is superb especially for the price really changed the rear of the car for me. Going to get my rear window section tinted later this month and some new tyres on for the summer hopefully lockdown restrictions will lighten up so I can finally bring the car somewhere.
  6. Hi all changed the headlight bulbs from some oem d4s to a pair of osram cool blue intense I got from Amazon for a fantastic price. Stupidly I didn't take a picture before with the lights on for a direct comparison but definitely a much whiter looking bulb. Will check them tonight when out and about to see how they are. If anyone's interested in doing it themselves it's handy enough just a few pieces of trim in the engine bay need to come off. Make sure light switch is off and fully shut down then leave for approx 15 mins till you change possibly longer if the lights have been on as they will be hot. (Use gloves when handling bulbs as oil from your hands will harm the life of the bulbs) Take the plastic covering off the bottom of the engine bay all the way across about 14 plastic Screws. These just push down then pop out. For the driver's side no need to go through the wheel arch as there is plenty of room. Disconnect the white plug before attempting to change. (Passenger side show as I didn't snap a picture) Then twist the cap and off careful as the bulb is wired to this cap then twist the connector on the back of the bulb take all that out and the bulb is in a standard spring housing. Now for the passenger side exact same but disconnect the screen wash funnel for a little bit more room and disconnect the plug. Then turn the wheel so you can get access in and take out the cap to have access to the bulb case. Once the cover is off same as the other side twist the bulb cover off and then feed it back through the wheel arch it will fit just tight and change the bulb same as other side. Here's the after look great in my opinion sorry if the formating is a bit all over the place posting this from mobile. Going to tackle a small leather repair tonight and will update the form with how it works out. Also changed the indicators while I was at it to chrome coated ones as they look better in my opinion.
  7. Hi all thanks love the colour more of a wine then red in person gave it a good scrub today and came up very nice. Picture looks like I've some kind of filter on but just how my phone took it. As yous can see from the other pictures given the age and the millage there is some stone chips on the front I'd imagine the car has had a motorway life before me so looking for suggestions for touch up more than happy to attempt myself have read about Dr chip repair and chipex wondering if anyone has experience with either thanks all.
  8. Hi all thought I should update as I have now received my car after an issue with shipping on my end. Very happy with the car needs a wash as to be expected after shipping over to Ireland will take some new pictures after so the ones below are from the dealership but I have to say they do not do the car justice absolutely stunning in person. Incase anyone is wondering it is crimson red exterior with a light grey interior.
  9. Hi vlad that's great to hear I've ordered the dodo cleaner and conditioner. I'll give it a good it a good clean when I get it and will post up some photos of how to turns out.
  10. Hi thanks for reply I've seen the dodo stuff recommended a few times so I will have to pick it up. As for the cracking I'm planning on enquiring with some local specialist to get a rough quote for a repair.
  11. Hi all just to update inspection went great no issue what so ever very happy. loads of imagines sent on will share once I have the car over and in person. Only issue with the car is the driver seat bolster cracking and suggestions on how to repair this? Cheers all very excited to be getting my first lexus.
  12. Hi thanks for the reply I will ask him to have a look hoping all goes well and I can proceed with the purchase, Another few questions I've thought of this will be my first car with leather going through the forums there is a huge amount of suggested cleaners wondering what your recommendation would be? its the cream interior. Final question is does the gold member offer any discounts in Ireland from any lexus dealers? Cheers
  13. Hi all looking at buying a phase iv 2012 I've been looking at one 102,000 miles on it. looks very clean have seen more pictures full service history from lexus coventry including all mot checks, 100 k service was done at 95k and a further service was done at 101,000. Have the car being inspected tomorrow won't be able to go in person as I plan to import into Ireland is there anything I should look out for with these cars and will lexus Ireland continue on the hybrid health checks which are all up to date last one being in June. Cheers all looking forward to getting into a lexus if all checks out.
