  1. Just hope. Hope in one hand and spit in the other and see which hand you get most in.
  2. Did not tell you, that what he mentions, is what I have been writing since a couple of years now. I have been harsh claiming that politicians are all corrupt and idiots when telling us that the only way to go is to put a battery in a car and all will be fine, but was I wrong? I have not been speaking kind about people claiming that EV cars are the solution and they did not believe me. But was I wrong? I have mentioned that many of the engines in the existing fleet of autos can have their engines rebuild to be used on other fuel types. Was I wrong? Sorry to now say that common, general IQ is the biggest problem for human race.
  3. So, when a lamp has the correct fitment (H number, which will fit the socket and make sure the lamp will not move), the correct light output, the correct beam pattern it is not the correct lamp? Having sold HID when they first came out, I know the requirements, do not want to create danger on the road and have LED from factory with lwashers and auto levelling for the headlamps, I will go to IVA (MOT) and have the new written into the car papers should the halogen high beams need replacement. If that does not happen I will just have a pair of 12V LED lamps among the other spare parts.
  4. Never had a problem with Continental tyres on so many cars, that I regret I replaced the first set of tyres on the CT with the same Pirelli as car was delivered with. After getting the UltraContact from Continental on the car is much quieter, drives better, my wife say it made the car better, my little one says that music sounds better now. Only problem is that I drive a bit faster now that the car handles so many times better and that could, if unlucky, cost a fine. Many of the big sizes are self repairing for most tiny holes.
  5. Exhaust in a diesel must be really warm in order to be kept clean. Diesels are made for long hauls, not short tours. The engine in the 2.0tdi DSG Golf we had needed 5 - 10 minutes of high revolutions in order to pass emission test.
  6. Mr. Bean plays a fool in a brilliant way, and though having read that he has an IQ a lot above normal, he was slow to realize that batteries are a stupid way to store electric power. Better late than never.
  7. Hope that most will learn to take care of other people on the road, but unfortunately patience often come later in life than a driver's license.
  8. If you call them the nice sales-person you get to talk with, most likely will tell you the expensive one is the one that you must chose, because it is the right one.
  9. You make it sound like rocket science that when forcing power through a resistive wire it emits light. A H11 bulb has same fitment no matter what the light emitting part is made of. If the light emitting part is emitting light in same direction, light output will be identical; possibly, except for colour and intensity.
  10. I have to correct myself. There is nothing wrong with e-bikes. Well not all of them. Many have not adequate brakes to stop the heavy e-bike in the speed they can get to, and some are not constructed well enough to be driven as fast as they can, but most of the problem come from the humans riding them. Very many of the riders of e-bikes are not capable of handling a bike in the speed such a bike can come up to. I have been riding downhill more than 70km/h (according to Garmin bike computer and Garmin is one of the GPS companies that in my eyes is of top quality) and I am still alive. Those riding bike claiming to never have crashed, they either have not been riding competition or are far better bike riders than I am. Absolutely possible, I know several (they also all of them have crashed more than once), problem with crashing is not the damage you do to yourself, but what you can inflict on other people. That is where e-bikes are not to my liking.
  11. Do you need a license to drive a microcar in Spain? In order to drive our micro cars at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, a class B driving license is required. Our e-microcars differ in terms of approval, main inspection and registration. For the 45 km/h variants, different rules apply than for our 80 km/h vehicles. Driving licences for Microcars VARANEO Microcars 45 km/h Our VARANEO microcars with a maximum design speed of 45 km/h may be driven with the driving licence class AM already from 16 years. In the federal states Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg even from 15 years. The driving licence class AM is included in the driving licence classes B (passenger car), T (tractor) and A1/A2 (motorcycle). In addition, all previously issued two-wheeler driving licenses entitle to drive our microcars with a maximum speed of 45 km/h VARANEO Microcars 80 km/h In order to drive our micro cars at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, a class B driving licence is required. People in Spain over 16 years of age will soon be able to drive light electric vehicles at a maximum speed of 90 kilometres per hour, the Interior Ministry has announced.
  12. Absolutely, got a lot going for them. Several people are buying them and riding faster than their ability to handle a bike causing lots of accidents. E-bike riders are 57% more likely to be involved in an accident than traditional bike riders, according to a Danish study. This statistic is a crucial piece of evidence in the discussion of E-bike accidents, as it provides a clear indication of the increased risk associated with riding an E-bike.21. apr. 2023 What is the injury rate for ebikes? Specifically, the 115 injuries per million e-bike rides beats out the estimated 104 injuries per million motorcycle rides, 15 injuries/million bicycle rides, and eight injuries/million passenger car rides. It is also significantly higher than the estimated two injuries/million pedestrian trips.22. apr. 2022
  13. From Google Playstore: A social app connecting you with other users - containing ads. That is where I got the description from. On top of that, if the navigation is from Google Maps, then the app will share all info collected with Google so why not just use Google Maps? Not that I need navigation to get around here, the island is tiny, and I know maybe most of it. Did not need maps in car either in good old days before GPS, just read where I was going and then going there. Sometimes you find the most beautiful surprises when taking different than most used roads.
  14. As far as I remember it was used to camouflage other odours. You have wrong ideas about hippies. We did not dress properly according to the old ones (don't trust anybody over thirty) but we did live in very decent and clean places; far better than most of the school friends working like the old ones wanted them to.
  15. Never heard of Waze, so looked it up. A social app connecting you to other users of the app and it contain ads and does not seem to be possible to use without ads. No pay-out to get rid of these? Why connect with other users in order to find the way you want to go? Not for me to understand.
  16. I prefer the smell of original Tiger Balm that was used when I was a young hippie.
  17. Only Audi & BMW? I have been selling sticks to xxxxxxx and other companies to have cruise control in the cars. Everything else was ready and functioning, just needed the switch.
  18. The one we have will not read any bigger than 32Gb and only with problems when on rough roads only 16Gb will play without interruption. I suppose you mean 512Gb. 512Kb USB will not have many minutes of music on it. Changing CD that often is not that funny while driving.
  19. Some HID are longer than halogen but for the ones that have same dimensions and position where light is emitted will have no problem finding LED lamps that will give correct light output. If the people looking at the light take out the bulbs many will have problems, but so far, I have never seen anything else than them looking at the light pattern and level and if the machine say that is OK, all is fine here. Doubt that in UK MOT personnel have time to take the bulbs out and search for approval stamps on them. But sure, you are right. What it looks like to me is that as long as cars passes MOT most owners will be pleased. LED's are in exactly same place as halogen light emitting wire. Emitting light to all sides except forward. Will install when the OEM bulbs need replacement. So far, they are still OK and may be forever as high beam is rarely used.
  20. If the car had HID from factory it also had headlamp washing and automatic leveling of light, so no reason why LED should not be acceptec when HID are.
  21. Welcome to the forum. If you should have problems with your car (not likely with such a car) this is the forum to ask.
  22. A wise guy in a car company once said: Why shall we make different wiring for various models? A few cables more or less when installing cost nothing and will make assembly easier as all will be the same, so all cables were installed. Later a wise guy in a car company said: Why shall we put in cables that are not to be used in some models, let us spare these, so different cables were installed. How it is in the CT? I do not know.
  23. I have no idea how old you are, but most people will not hear any difference between lossless and 512kbps when passed the 40 - 50 years. 320kbps will also be fine for most.
  24. Paul, if you convert 20 CD's to m4a or MP3 (https://www.dbpoweramp.com/) and burn on a DVD you have all the music and (https://www.dbpoweramp.com/perfecttunes.htm) which is part of DB Poweramp will add possibly missing metadate (usually there are none, DB Poweramp will take all data from the disc) to the audio, meaning you will have these in good quality (depending on bitrate) on a DVD with around 20 or more hours of music on it. At the same time you can also skip the music from the CD's that are not wanted. Most CD's have the music we want plus some more to fill the space on the CD. Pretty sure CD player in your new RX can read at least same type of files than our 2017 CT. That way there is music enough in 3 DVD's for a tour through a lot of places without listening to the same all the time and without having to change discs often. john
