  1. Hello and welcome! If you have charge in your battery this is normal to shut off the engine. There are some circumstances where it may not do it immediately or stay longer on engine. In normal situation with charged battery it will remain on it until it's on 2 bars and need to recharge. Then charge up with engine to 3 bars and shut off again soon. Bart
  2. Hello Hazel, From my own experience with MK4 if I leave with keys and car is on it starts beeping like crazy, not sure of it auto shuts off after a while as never tested that out. All the best, Bart
  3. Hey Steven, Thanks for sharing your experience with E10! We have it in Ireland for few weeks now and I filled 3 tanks already, then I see same or even lower consumption on MK4 GS450h.. I agree there is too much fuzz about it.. 🤣🤣
  4. Hey Sergio, I would like to share a bit of my experience here to add on the same dealer (Cork) - as I started to have some mixed feeling about. Initially, had no issues at all with first service and some small work done early in ownership of my GS. At end of November I went for another full service as I did 15k kms and I've been asked if I want to do pre-nct check (I had it booked for early December but I said why not). It pre-NCT result was that my rear shocks have imbalance and very likely they will fail NCT. I was bit surprised, as there are no issues with them, no sounds, leaks, they look dry and like new. This was quoted for about 1000E with labour!! Funnily enough, I though that F-Sport model have different shocks due to S+ mode and suspention stiffening - and quote was for standard IS/GS300h shocks? I decided to give a try on NCT - I went to Blarney and surprise surprise - I have failed. Man said that he is surprised as they indeed look like new and he made few tries - lowest imbalance he could see is 42% which is above passable 30. I was a bit let down and called to Lexus to discuss options of replacement. They said that they quote is up and if Iwould like to book service. Then I decided to give another try for a retest on another centre after Christmas and NY - this time in Little Island. Guess what - I passed in flying colours. Of course there were no changes or anythign done with the car. So I called Lexus to say I'm not going to replace anything. In general I felt really weird that they did service, pre-nct check and I failed NCT.. Then passed re-test perfectly fine with no changes (and haven't done much km's in between tests). Still, I had same set of questions about wipers, lights set, pre-nct (where I choose to get lightgs set and that pre-nct) and last thing they have tried to sell me was fuel additive as they said it's winter and it will be better for the car - I declined that saying I have no issues at all with it in winter or any other season and dont want any additives in my engine lol. I don't remember them on previous services but looks to me that they may try to do some upselling. Fun fact about loan car - I took it on each service and each time I ended up with Toyota (Yaris & C-HR) - quite funny that Lexus here can't provide Lexus loaner - I was actually genuinely interested in having a feel of ES300h or IS300h so I could compare it to my GS but I see that's not happening here. Bit silly. Another fun fact - on first service I took their insurance for 30E and they said at the end they cover that and I don't have to pay, then on another time I paid 30E - seems that it's bit out of control - with you having 15E. Oh and interestingly on the sticker they put my next service after 12k kms - which I believe is a typo as should be 15k as usual. Attaching NCT reports too
  5. Hello Charlie, I paid 800e in Ireland for exactly same swrvice on same yr car. I would expect similiar amount converted to GBP All the best Bart
  6. I find mileage of GS 450h very good but I enjoy steady ride and I get about 40mpg+ from every tank (right now I usually start from ecu showing ~830 km left once I fill tank fully). Sum it up with cheap tax and hassle free service and it would be hard to beat. Same time I know I'm not matching your considerations of 10k entry point 🙂
  7. Oh dear, after all that you took to restore it back to living state this happened 😕 Hope you will get into some conclusions after talking to them
  8. Hello Boris, This battery bar looks to be taken when car is not fully powered on - I have same if I clean interior and only have radio on without ignition 🙂 As soon as you press brake pedal and start button the battery bar will show reading 🙂 It is also right that for the most of the time you will have 6/8 bars and on 2 car will turn off engine charging if it won't chare by other means like going downhill, coasting.
  9. Hey Herbie, It was exact 3.63E with shipping from Aliexpress 🙂 surprisingly delivery was fast, as I ordered that one on February 5th and got it today 🙂 Ive seen prices around and that was the reason I decided to source it that way - as had no rush with it (still 1 month is not bad I would say 🙂 ) On the other hand sourcing it in Ireland is hard All the best Bart
  10. Just to add on the topic - I received CR2412 battery today and it doesn't work with the key I have. I have a suspicion that either: - Card is faulty, as it have a barely visible crack in the middle (could be seen on my first pic) - which possibly broke it - After long time with drained battery it require reprogramming - this I may check at some point with dealership or Techstream myself (just have not much time to play around it due to loads of work) All the best Bart
  11. Hey Robert I have one on GS45h 2013 jap import 🙂 downside is that battery is out on it, so I ordered that weird CR2412 online and should have it by Monday 🙂 I agree that its idea is great and really hassle free 🙂
  12. Hey Nico As far as I know this device will only work in cars that already supports Andriod Auto, so in our case it wont do anything because we dont have this option in GS MK4. There doesnt seem to be a reasonable option to have Android Auto on the main screen apart from placing the phone at front of it sadly 😞
  13. Oh dear sorry to see that 😞 Hope it would be minor and easy to get rid off scratch.. To be fair shortly since purchase I'm always on the far end of every car park - got few marks done by people just opening the doors with likely full force and got so angry about it (same thing happened within weeks of purchase), that now I'm parked as far as one can be..
  14. Perfect Christmas present 🙂 With the mirrors not going down, check if you have any mirror selected on the adjustment panel. If I switch it off to none selected, then they wont go down on reverse 🙂 Happy Christmas!
  15. On the side, after the service I checked and they charge in Cork exact 300E for 6 plugs and replacement together, which I find reasonable after all considering genuine parts and bit of hassle with engine there Other interesting thing I have found in jap service book is that over there they change iridium plugs every 10 years/100k km, so that was the reason I did it while I was on service around 92k with my one to get it off the list (car was 7.5 yrs old then) 🙂
  16. Hello, On GS450h had spark plug replacement on that service and it was the main reason price was high. I would suspect this may be same reason
  17. Really happy for you as I know you've been looking for one for a while! 🙂 I will be looking for your pictures and also we may meet sometime after new year as well for a coffee and some photoshoot 🙂
  18. Oh sorry, somehow didn't see the page with road tax - yeah, then it's no reason to do that if tax is paid. Situation I refered to could be if let's say garage got the car with no tax on it or with just expirin, then didn't sell for some, so in order to add value and fresh tax they could change the ownership of the car the moment before purchasing new tax. Due to that, they don't have to back pay months where car was just sitting there. It's a bit strange way of avoiding arrears, but doable for certain amount of time, as seen that once done by one individual 🙂 downside is, that the car will gain new owners in the process. But like I said that was assumption done only by seeing fresh tax bought on the window sticker and very recent ownership change in report 🙂 Glad to see NCT shows right readings - on the side it would be quite achievement to see it in that condition with 400k+ miles on the clock!! 🙂
  19. Hmm tax on the car has been bought exactly same say as the car changed owner. Possibly it was left without tax for a while and they transferred ownership to not pay arrears on it - just a thought that may explain this one odd ownership change. As its Irish car I wonder if its possible to chec previous NCT reports with odometer readings, that would give some clear indication on it. If they have all reports that should provide clarification on the car I guess. Same time it shouldn't have miles if registered in Ireland, so unless they did some weird stuff with cluster swap, then possibly greenlight have some strange data
  20. Also got confirmed that full oil change is part of the minor service - wasn't sure about that as seen some schedules mentioning top up only 🙂
  21. Thanks Nico! Trying to care of it as much as I can as a small thank you for the great time we have together on the road 🙂 Hey KayCee, I think that would be more or less same what I have now, as got the car with 2019 Potenzas on it - I have same feelings about them as you - they are fine on the road but noise is definitely there. They said that they have some new pattern now on this years model to make it better, but Im suspecting this to be some gimmick 😄 At the end of the day it doesn't bother me much I mostly notice that when there is surface change. Still they held good with quality in my opinion - with myself doing now 20.5k km on them and not sure how much they were used before import (not much I guess, as they were manufactured in 2nd half of 2019 and I got the car early 2020). I've been on tracking and balancing 3 times during that time span to make sure I get most of them.
  22. Thanks for the link, I will check further what exact model they have and compare - at the same time I will check how they are for option if I supply tyres
  23. Thanks Sergio, I hope that inded you will make your purchae and enjoy that car - with the MK3 and MK4 both giving pleasure to drive I'm sure you will be happy with it 🙂 They got me on N25 coming from Midleton - there is a spot behind the hill where they usually put speed camera van, but that time they were in the bushes on top of the hill with handheld radar 😄 With tyres I'm going for Bridgestone Potenzas from Lexus some 2021 model - had a bit of though on Pirelli P Zeros for a while, but Lexus couldn't source them and other garage quoted me on 200E extra. Then I would suspect some TPMS issues, so I rather leave it for Lexus to replace and save hassle 🙂
  24. Hello Everyone, Just wanted to share that in about 2 months from now I will be hitting 1 yr of great ownership of 2013 GS450h MK4 Fsport. On 4th January I have booked minor service (102k km), which will be my 2nd service with Lexus Cork. This time I also change all 4 tyres as an extra, which will be bit heartbreaking 1k Eur, but things need to be done 🙂 I would also need to call tomorrow to check if they have oil change in schedule for minor service, as if not - I would go for that. Not that I have issues, but I prefer to change it on every service. To my surprise oil level didn't changed a small bit through nearly 15k km which is a great change from my previous '08 Civic Hybrid that was thirsty for engine oil ☺️. Few thoughts after driving that time and nearly 20.5k kms together - love it!! Lexus engineered a lovely machine that I really drove nearly everyday, sometimes just looking for an excuse just to get in front of steering wheel and enjoy. Superb economical, when driven gently - and so powerful when on S mode that very often I catch myself just flipping there for no reason to listen to the lovely V6 roar. I had few less annoying issues, but I learned how to live with them and some that I will bring to the service team in January. Mainly - my Lexus seem to dislike petrol different than Miles Plus from Circle K. Funny it sounds when I filled tank with some other petrol I had ECU errors and CEL light after some time (surprisingly mostly steady drive on 90-100 km/h with cruise control). Other than that no issues with consumption, smoke from exhaust, engine operation - just random errors on crap petrol. Other error I found was related to ABS sensor, which again popped about 3 times giving many errors on dash and disappear after I turned car off for a moment and turned back. I found that once I reset error it will show up soon and if I leave it as it is - drive without problems for more than 2k kms now (I suspect maybe some connection error on plug) - I have that poined for check during service. There are no issues with any of the systems during driving, ABS, TRC everything works perfectly - and I can see that especially now during colder days and less grip on evenings - I can drive with confidence even on crap slippery surface. This car brought so much joy to my every day now, that I'm not seeing any viable new or even matching vechicle to think about trade in or selling it. Just Irish roads give some more chips on the body and that make me sad every time I do a full wash to it - which I'm continuing even on misty or coldy weather with pleasure 🙂 That year also teached me a lot on the car cosmetics and from many brands I bought - I'm sticking with Soft99 and Meguiar's - they really do the job and make the car shine on the road. On the funny end - It also got me my first speeding ticket ☺️ where I was chased by the Gardai with radar - all due to fast acceleration and not feeling speed inside of the car! Ok I know, these are excuses - 140 km/h on 100 km/h max road 🙂 fun times months back 🙂 I only feel somehow bad recommending this car to friends and family knowing how rare they are in Ireland - close to zero and price point for that version. Still the best car I have owned and planning to keep for years from now 🙂 Adding some pictures as well to keep on appreciating :)
