  1. which gen is it? Gen 3 is hydraulic and is heavier or weighted. gen 4 is light, so light I have to customise it in the settings to give it more weight (sport). if in sport mode, it is automatically adjusted to more weight. gen 5 is more balanced. in sport setting the steering is excellent and not twitchy on the motorway.
  2. EV mode does not include in the MPG calculations oddly in the car. in the 350h I achieved 45mpg easily. in the 450+ 40 miles easily done on EV only, there are multiple modes, EV, EV+Hybrid, Hybrid, generator. compared to my 2019 gen 4 450, the economy is miles better, drive is better, power is almost same in the 450+, more responsive, better drive, better finish, just in general much better. My only niggle will be lack of cubbies and lack of essential buttons especially drive modes.
  3. D4S is the socket size. Recommend OSRAM branded lamps. There are lots of different option. If you go with the standard long life lamps, these do not provide the sparkle but will last longer and less expensive. The performance types - more light or cooler lamps tend to last less long.
  4. Been escalated to Lexus HQ technician. They took it for a spin today and found the vibrations and will look to reorder parts to reinstall with CATLOC being present. If needed they will need to redesign again as the vibrations and noise under acceleration is horrendous.
  5. Thanks for picking up on the auto correct. If you do not know of the artificial engine noise which, Lexus introduced - then unfortunately I cannot describe this any better. Back down to two models now. gen 3 and 4. Sold the gen 2 SEL.
  6. I do, and have taken this back to the dealer - can I suggest you do the same and get this complaint raised above the dealer to Lexus as this is an approved product. The vibrations and rattle really ruins the experience.
  7. Thanks, yes I took it back it's with them at present. Lexus people coming to look at it too after complaint raised above Woodford. The response has been rather garbage which I am not accepting. Lets see what the Lexus folks have to say.
  8. Interior shampoo is the best all round interior cleaner. Fast glass is great and Rubber and Vinyl cleaner is superb for tyres, engine details and conditioning the rubber door seals
  9. For general surfaces, my go to product is Autoglym interior shampoo. I use a combination of detail brushes and clothes. I will start with vacuuming and get rid of any dust and debris first. Than I will start with the surface. Leathers I use Dr Leather. this is fantastic. If needed I would use a good shoe brush to agitate and wipe with microfibre.
  10. What helps is good cleaning product, good cloth and then to get to the absolute bottom edges I use plastic body filler spreader. I use Gyeon glass cleaner, Mr Siga glass cloth. these two combined give a great result.
  11. Hello, I wanted to share my video I did showing headlight restoration using Autoglym headlight restoration kit and wet & dry process.
  12. Word of caution when changing the rear side lights. The wires for the brake lights are so poorly designed has no strain relief resulting in the wires to come away from the crimps. The brake lights are LED which these wires connect. The dealers will suggest replacing rear unit - this does not make sense as the lamp connector is separate to the unit?
  13. I have recently done exactly that. The gen 3 is a vast improvement in almost all areas but there are some things that is a step back wards. They are little but odd. Simple thing like a dampened glove box, LED rear side lights and brake lights, 12V in the arm rest on the 2010 model. I would go with the 2011 if you can as the 12V is added to the lower console. Sun roof added to new models from Advance spec. The ride is nicer, the battery/motors have a lot more torque allowing more electric driving. The boot is more spacious as the suspension is moved away and lowered. The ride is quieter with very little cabin noise. Super refined. The sound system is a huge improvement especially with the Mark Levinson. The driving position and surround more comfortable. Full LED headlight on SEL spec. Bigger wheels. DB radio albeit terrible signal strength with exposed antenna. Steering better response, weight and lighter at slower speeds/during parking. Infotainment in my personal view is just rubbish, the mouse is better than the newer >2012 version which has resistive feedback. Air suspension on SEL spec. Fuel tank slightly larger so longer range. Fuel economy only slightly better. On paper it is miles better, perhaps the drive mode on Eco helps which is not available on the RX400h. Lexus RX Series III Spec List.pdf
  14. Autoglym interior shampoo is a very versatile all round cleaner which I use almost for everything. Depending on how dirty your surfaces are, you can use a shoe brush to agitate the surface and use microfibre cloth to wipe off. Or if lightly soiled, you can spray directly on the cloth to dampen and then wipe surface. You can also use leather cleaner too as this does a good job to clean and protect. Gyeon do great products, use their mild leather cleaner.
