  1. OK. Engineers report says "NSF Caster Arm Bush beginning to separate" and "OS Undertray broken" Does this help? Regards Hits
  2. Its definitely the front passenger side, but not sure if top or bottom. They did say that the bushes were beginning to crack. At £280 odd I would think they were wanting to replace the whole part. Oh and the engine cover is drivers side but not sure which one of these is broken (apparently there are four in total). Will get some more info and post details. Hits.
  3. Passenger side. Does it make a difference?
  4. Just had my IS200 repaired (scrap to doors and bumbers) and as the MOT was due, asked the dealership to do this also. As expected, I received a call from the garage, telling me there were a few things that I needed to sort out ... fortunately the MOT failing items were resolved for about £60 but they also made mention of the fact that I need a new suspension arm at a cost of £282 (fitted). The bushes have cracked and deteriorsting. Firstly, the car has done 30,000 miles (reg 2001) and I do not drive it hard. Secondly, why is it that only one side needs repair? Surely the wear would be relatively even? Thirdly, is the price reasonable? If I don't get it sorted, what kind of damage am I looking at and how long can I leave before I HAVE to get it done? Thanks in advance Hits. PS. Also need a new engine cover on the drivers side at a cost of £70 and two new tyres (quoted £145 each).
  5. One of them definetely looks cracked - like its made of plastic, but I'll take your word for it. Will try breakers first anyhow and see. If they look OK, then JD, job done. Thanks
  6. I need some nearside door mouldings for an IS200 (2001 'Y'). Also the transparent strip that is stuck to the rear wheel arch (stone chip protector I think). Lexus have quoted me £67 for the front and about £40 for the rear Tranparent sticker is a tenner Apparently they come ready painted, but the bodyshop guy said he would have to spray anyway so seems a bit pointless. Can't really get from breakers as when they are pulled off they bend and are then no good. Anyone know of a good spares place - north london or that delivers ???
  7. Thanks for the responses gents. No fears of anything more than a faulty battery then? I will let you know what happens after replacing the battery. As for the warranty, I spotted on the forums that someone else was being quoted £53o so I am not entirely sure about the fixed price? Aside from the cost, is it worth it? I understand that a Nav system is over a grand, but I don't have one. Stereo warranty by what I have observed is now 5 yrs and I have just had my alloys replaced. What can i expect to go wrong that would justify paying nearly £500/£1000 up front? Based on the build quality, reliability and customer satisfaction surveys, I would have expected a much lower price. Sounds like I may have something to worry about ...
  8. Tried to unlock my IS200 ('Y' plate) this morning and nothing. Thought the battery in the key may be dead, so got the spare and still nothing. Advised by Lexus that it could be that the key needed reprogramming and to get car to them and they would reprogram. Opened the door (manually) and ... no alarm??? Tried to start the car ... dead. Battery flat as a pancake. Anyway when I opened the bonnet I could here a clicking coming from the Relay box, like the car was trying to do something?? It must have been trying to do all night long as it has drained the battery. I have taken the battery out and it is charging as we speak. Biggest worry is what could be draining it? Lights, stereo, etc all switch off with the ignition. Only thing I can think off is the central locking or alarm. Any ideas? If the problem is still there, I will wake up to another dead car. I would much rather sort out the problem. Thought it may have been the alarm going off all night long - it was parked out of earshot and people in houses around wher it was parked were staring at me this morning. What is more concerning is that the 3yr warranty ran out last week along with the breakdown cover - isn't that strange (or is it?). I was not prepared to extend warranty at £475 per annum (£875 for 2 yrs), so I suppose this is my payback. Is this a standard fee or are my dealership being greedy? Hits.
