  1. Any update on the problem? I had something very similar when I repaired the hybrid battery in my gs300h, turned out that I had reversed the high voltage cables from the battery to the inverter. Not sure if the pic of the cables is before or after finding out they were wrong way around. Thankfully no damage done
  2. Thanks for that Colin, I might have to look elsewhere for a cure for the problem. I've since found that it happens when the car swaps from battery to engine power, just as its transferring its like a loss of power for a split second, otherwise the car runs very good. There was a warning about the hybrid battery, ( P0A80 replace hybrid battery), I cleaned the battery busbars and now everything is OK, other than the flat spot is still there.

  4. Looking for info on the fuel filter for the 2014 gs300h, best i can find so far is that its in the tank as part of the pump. I was shown some pics that i think are from an American forum but the part numbers don't come up when I search for them. My car with over 200,000miles drops power intermittently, there's no fault codes which makes me think that it might be a clogged fuel filter. Local dealer is a bit hit and miss as to how helpful they might be when there might be a bit of doubt about parts so I was hoping to have some proper info before going to them, like part numbers and what else might be needed such as o rings etc. Numbers I got are 23217-46898 for filter 23217-46090 for strainer I think these part numbers are for the earlier 300h non hybrid
  5. Nice to have been of help, its good to share any tips. On my car the fore&aft adjustment is done by pulling the bottom of the headrest foreword till you find the position you want, if you pull it all the way forward it seems to release the adjuster and you can push it all the way back and start again
  6. Had the same problem with my sons is300h, aircon fault was the pressure sensor, it is NOT A DIY JOB as the gas has to be recovered and refillid as it will leak out when the sensor is removed . Same as yours, when the aircon was turned on and didn't work i got the independent garage to regas the system and check for leaks, no problems but the aircon still wouldn't work so it was suggested that I could run to the breakers and get a used sensor and he would fit it for free (this involves removing the gas/refrigerant, fitting the sensor and refilling the gas/refrigerant), the sensor i got was a used one from some model of toyota, i think it was an avensis, the sensor is located behind the grill on an aluminium pipe, it is very tight so you need to be careful that you don't snap the pipe, replaced the sensor and refill the system and all ok since. Original sensor part number is 499000-7880 and is a denso product.
  7. Sons is300h f sport is used around town mostly, usually around 6 miles at a time and usually shows around 42mpg
  8. A few more pics, trim tools came in handy, lock nuts added to prevent the nuts coming loose again
  9. Had a rattle from the drivers headrest for a while so I decided to strip it down, I had the same issue with the passenger side previously so it was much easier this time. The two 8mm nuts that hold the adjuster mechanism had worked loose, one fell off completely which was the cause of the rattle, and the other was hanging on by a thread, hardest part was persuading the leather cover off the shell but it's doable. A selection of tools needed A few clips and 2 screws hold the two parts of the shell together, once the shell is opened its easy to refit the two nuts and add two lock nuts to prevent them coming loose again. On the front of the shell there are two screws that need to be removed so that the shell can split, the orange marks are where the bolts that secure the mechanism are, these can be held by a 8mm socket while you tighten the nut on the other side.

I've done it on both my gs300h and my sons is300h, both 2014 cars, It's as straight forward as changing any standard gearbox oil, there's a drain plug and a fill plug above it on the right side of the transmission / gearbox. From memory I think it took 2.5 litres to drain & refill, measure the amount drained and expect to refill at least the same amount. (a totally dry gearbox takes about 5lt), get the genuine oil from lexus / toyota . Something to check while you're changing the fluid is the earth strap from body to gearbox, they seem to rot away
  11. For option 1, I'm pretty sure that auto reverse dipping mirrors is only possible if you have memory seats. In my case it works on both my 2014 gs300h AND my sons 2014 is300h f sport. To begin the process, ignition on or car running in Park, first set your seat and door mirrors to your preferred position and store to memory on button 1, next is to put the car in reverse and adjust the mirrors down to whatever position you want them for reversing and then store to memory again in button 1. If there's more than one driver the same procedure can be done on memory button 2 etc

Ya that's what I was thinking but it's replaced a good while now, it was due to boredom that I was in the shed doing a bit of a tidy up and came across the motor so I thought I might as well have a look to see what it was like. I posted the strip down in the hope it might be of help to anyone with the same problem

Car has approx 140000miles,was originally English before being imported into Ireland, car is basically trouble free thankfully but the wipers were a real headache, always thought it was the relays that were the problem because my sons is300h had similar fault but new relays fixed it for him. For me, eventually they stopped working completely so the easiest way was to find a used replacement

Have had problems with the wipers on my 2014 gs300h for a long time, they would randomly stop working but switching off and on again they would work again with no problems, I thought it may be similar to the issue some have of parking in the wrong positions so I replaced both relays but this eventually didn't solve the problem, probably took 18 months of intermittent failure before they finally gave up for good so I replaced the motor and linkages with a used set from a low mileage gs450h, I was a bit doubtful as the replacement motor was smaller in size but they worked perfectly. Today, due to boredom I dismantled the wiper motor to see the condition of the internals, the only thing found was the brushes were worn out, I'm sure they could be replaced if really needed brushes worn well down armature could be saved possibly found this wear on the armature this wear is opposite and at the other end of the armature, I can't find corresponding marks on the magnets so I'm thinking they may be something to do with balancing the shaftbrush worn at a angleall brushes well wornas usual, toyota part numbers on a lexus
