  1. Haven't tried these but if you are looking for Lexus original then cheaper than £78 https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-ux-phase-1-winter-wiper-bundle/
  2. You would if you had driven a UX with 17 inch "normal" tyres. As I said in a previous post, I would never specify run flats on any car and it was a surprise when I got the car with the 18 inch run flats as a freebie. In hindsight I should have made a fuss and got them to change them for 17 inch normals.
  3. If you have the Lexus app on your phone then it shows the location of the car
  4. Looks like the article agrees that it is OK to put the same brand of tyre on the same axle. I doubt Lexus rotate the tyres as part of the service. I also envisage that your friendly tyre fitter would want to balance and align the tyres at the same time as they are rotated.
  5. I had a quick look at a tyre website and the Pirellis (70dB) as fitted to my UX are £215 whilst Hankooks are £135 (67dB). Based on the previous post Pirellis are twice as noisy as Hankooks. Perhaps showing my age but is there a problem mixing different brands of tyre?
  6. Spotted a deal for genuine Lexus front and rear wipers with screen wash and an ice scraper for £40. 3 wipers from Lexus is approx £33 + VAT. 3 wipers from Halfords is approx £26. I don't need the screen wash or ice scraper so is it worth the extra to get "genuine" Lexus wipers?
  7. Easier to get "normal" tyres or a different car😀
  8. Interesting that on the Blackcircles website the Bridgestone Turanza 005A runflat tyres fitted to my Lexus from new are rated as D, C 71B at £190 whilst Hankook tyres rated as C, B 67A are £165. The Goodyear website states that a 3 db difference doubles the amount of external noise the tyre produces.
  9. The boot is tiny and it isn't possible to easily fit a space saver tyre. I have already removed the false shelf to make a reasonable sized storage space.
  10. Agreed, coasting is better. I'm not so sure using adaptive cruise control is more fuel efficient as it seems to accelerate and brake more harshly than I do.
  11. Can you provide a link to where Lexus discuss the noise levels from the Bridgestone (or any) tyres please?
  12. Thanks for the comments. I think to sum up the differences between normal tyres and run flat tyres: Normal tyres - Less noisy, more comfortable ride, better economy, possibly repair if punctured and cheaper to buy. No spare tyre with UX so would need roadside recovery or if repair goo used tyre would need to be replaced. Run flats - Opposite of above but can drive with a puncture. Tyre would need replaced if run on flat.
  13. I test drove a UX without run flats and it was a lot quieter. I got run flats as an upgrade that I didn't know about and thought at the time it was a good freebie. If you have a choice don't get them.
  14. Is it possible to swap the 18 inch run flat tyres on my UX for normal tyres in the hope that road noise is reduced? I have Bridgestone Turanza tyres at the moment - are other run flats available and any quieter?
  15. I test drove a UX with 17 inch non run flats and it was a lot quieter than the 18 inch run flats I got due to the dealers information sheet being out of date when I ordered the car - but hey I got a free upgrade. I am considering getting the tyres rotated at the service so they wear evenly and I can buy 4 non run flats at the same time when needed. If I replace all 4 can I put 17 inch tyres on instead of 18 inch?
  16. I see that Bridgestone Turanza's are rated at 70 dB and Michelin Primacy 4s at 68 dB - it would be good to know if the sound difference is noticeable. Primacy's are £24 more expensive on a website I checked.
  17. My UX has been to the dealer twice to try and get the air con as efficient as my 5 year old Ford Focus. Failed twice but bearable.
  18. Infotainment system is a disaster. I use Apple Carplay.
  19. Hopefully in addition to cosmetic changes Lexus will throw the infotainment system in the bin and replace it. Even the dealers say to use Apple/Android systems in preference to the Lexus one.
  20. I didn't know about using the different driving modes to optimise the fuel economy. Does anybody else have experience of if this works?
  21. Update: Temperature still wasn't cool enough so back to the dealership. Service guy told me the air con system had been overfilled and was over-pressuring the system. Feels a bit better now but worth watching.
  22. I spoke to the Dealer about the lack of automatic WiFi connectivity to my iPhone's hotspot on my UX and the mechanic tried every Lexus they had in the service bay and none would connect automatically. Apparently it is a Lexus problem and they are hoping an update will be produced soon.
