  1. Yes definitely hard work, I’m 53, so it’s getting harder, but once a car has been professionally detailed, and coated, it would just be a waste of money, if I went back to the hand wash places, as I will be back to square one, with swirl marks, I confess I don’t do it weekly, probably every 3 weeks or so, and depending on the weather forecast. Yes definitely a work out.
  2. Peter do you prefer the Mercedes hold system or the Lexus one, I ask as I was at first sceptical about the Lexus one, being used to the one on my Mercedes, but after having driven my father’s Lexus a few times, I appreciate the Lexus one more, as once you switch it on, you don’t have to press the brake pedal for it to function. Lexus
  3. As as I have carpro uk ceramic coating on my blue Mercedes, I use carpro lift snow foam, and carpro reload shampoo, then once in a while as a top up carpro elixir detailer. Gtech window cleaner, and gtech tyre dressing. Interior Nappa leather dashboard and door cards, just give it a wipe over with a microfibre cloth, no dressing whatsoever. Takes me approximately 3 hours though😥 that includes setting up, and putting things away, but gives me great satisfaction.
  4. Me neither to be honest, when behind any vehicle 99% of them have the brake lights on, and have it has never bothered me in the slightest.
  5. My Mercedes has the brake hold function, it also keeps the brake lights on, haven’t checked my father’s NX if it does the same, I’m sure other will tell you if it does or not.
  6. Yes John for £70 is not a lot of money, in the overall scheme of things.
  7. Would you mind telling me how one gets a cracked windscreen, as my father who has an NX, and his insurance is due a renewal soon, and on the comparison website two company’s with a price difference of £70, the lower one is without windscreen cover and the higher one has, he was mentioning that in over 50 years of driving he has never had to replace a windscreen, so he is considering doing without the cover, but I am thinking these modern ones has camera and whatnot, and it would be sods law that if he doesn’t have the cover, then at some point he could indeed get a crack, and require changing, at huge cost.
  8. Trackpad can be adjusted to slow, as I did on my father’s NX, as I found it too quick/sensitive even on the medium setting.
  9. Audi Q5 are getting excellent reviews on you tube channels, as a good all round car, so is the BMW X5, if you are considering Suv.
  10. Hi my father just purchased a NX300h 2018 11k miles, the prices at main dealers were around 28k mark, saw one at a non Lexus dealer priced at 26.5k, got it in the end for 26k, but was hard work getting £500 off, at main dealers it was almost impossible. Are the prices for the above vehicle over inflated at the moment, or are they the going rates. I’m surprised how high prices are for the NX, or is that the norm.
  11. Wonder why that is, have it in the Mercedes, and works a treat, very useful feature when you have your hands full and want to open the boot.
  12. Wouldn’t mind the kick sensor, if the car is equipped to do so, I have this feature on my Mercedes, very useful when ones hands are full.
  13. Hi thanks for that, the car is booked in for a free health check on Thursday, will ask the dealer to program if it’s possible.
  14. Hi Andy, having read the manual, yes it doesn’t suggest anything about beeps on locking/unlocking. Yes it was the US. Thanks for taking the time out to give me confirmation.
  15. Hi guys a new member on here, I have a 2017 E350d V6, and am an active member on the Mercedes forum (sorry🙁), but have just persuaded my elderly retired parents to purchase NX300h Luxury 2018, but there are plenty of owners on the Mercedes forum with owners having issue with Nox Sensors, and adblue and dpf, so what spacewagon52 says is correct, so factoring that, and also the noise of a diesel car, (unless it’s a V6 of course), then if the mpg of a hybrid and a diesel is more a less the same, then hybrid would be a better choice. Also in London a residents permit for a diesel car also has a added supplement, and diesel also being more expensive the petrol. Low mileage drivers should probably not get a diesel, due to the dpf and adblue issue, my retired father does around 3k miles a year, this was the reason I told him to go for the NX, rather then anything else.
